Stanley rushed into the bathroom, grabbed the showerhead, cranked the cold water on full blast, and splashed his face repeatedly. His chaotic thoughts slowly began to settle.
He hadn't actually ingested the drug himself, so the intoxicating effect didn't last very long. His mind gradually cleared.
Thinking back to how completely he had just lost control, he closed his eyes in absolute despair.
He had to be losing his mind...
*Knock, knock, knock.*
The pounding on the door was still going.
Pushing aside his turbulent emotions, he steadied his breathing and walked over to open the door.
Standing in the hallway was his assistant, Miles. Behind him was a massive cardboard box.
"What is this?" Stanley asked darkly.
"Mr. Zimmer, Madam told me to bring this up to you. Do you want to... keep it, or should I throw it out?"
"Keep what?"
Stanley still hadn't registered what was happening.
Miles looked incredibly awkward. "It's a gift from your mother. What else could it be..."
An ominous feeling instantly washed over Stanley. He pulled back a corner of the box and peeked inside. There was an actual woman huddled in there.
His brain buzzed violently. He froze for a few seconds before something suddenly clicked. He whipped around and ran back into the room, only to find the bed completely empty...
Stanley's face drained of color. He darted toward the window. He was on the second floor, and looking down, there was nothing but a stretch of dark green grass.
Miles, entirely confused, followed him in. "Mr. Zimmer, what happened?"
Stanley stood in grim silence, quickly pulling out his phone to dial his mother's number.
The moment she picked up, he snapped, "How many women did you send me tonight?"
