Zander stormed out of the house, leaving Renata swaying unsteadily on her feet.

She leaned on the furniture, trying to make her way to the sofa, only to see Queenie sitting there with a gloating smile on her face.

Her face paper-white, she turned and retreated back upstairs.

As soon as she was in her room and the door clicked shut, she frantically dialed "Z"'s number again.

Still turned off. She sent a text, but she was still blocked!

"What the hell is she doing?!"

Renata slammed her fist on the table.

Forcing herself to calm down, she quickly dialed another number.

It rang for a long time before someone finally answered, a deep voice sounding annoyed. "What do you want?"

"Simon, what is going on? That person you introduced to me... why did she suddenly block me and Zander?"

"A person I introduced? What are you talking about?"

Renata's eyes widened like saucers, her voice trembling with unmistakable panic. "The legendary trader! 'Z'! Didn't you introduce me to the person who was posing as her? She reached out to me a week ago in the morning!"

Simon scoffed over the phone. "I did introduce someone to you. They sent a request, but you never accepted it. I figured you didn't need the help anymore."

Renata's brain exploded.

It felt like a bomb had just gone off in her head.

She collapsed onto the floor, completely unable to process the sheer magnitude of what was happening.

After reeling in shock for several long moments, she finally shrieked into the phone, "What do you mean I didn't accept?! I accepted her request, I met with her, we agreed on everything! And now she's blocking both me and Zander out of nowhere! How am I supposed to explain this to him?!"

Simon clearly didn't appreciate being screamed at.

His tone turned condescending. "Did you contact too many people? Have you completely lost track of who introduced who?"

"Simon, what the hell are you talking about?!"

"Let me repeat myself. You never accepted the person I sent your way. As for who you ended up contacting, I have no idea. You deal with whoever it is you found."

*Click.* He hung up.
