Chapter 149
Author’s pov
It was 10 PM on the dot when Tiffany’s limousine pulled up in Kate’s driveway, waiting for her to come ourside
She was all glamorously dressed up, making it look like the two of them were about to have a good time, but the truth was that she had other plans that night.
Kate knew that Tiffany hated to be kept waiting, which was why the came rushing out in her short dress and heels with a wide smile as she waved.
The chauffeur kept the door open for her and as soon as she joined Tiffany in the backseat, Tiffany forced a smile while they shared a hug.
“It really feels like we haven’t been out in a long time!” Kate said on Tiffany’s shoulder, then broke the hug
“You’re right about that,” Tiffany said, her lips curving into a practiced smile. “And we rarely do this on a Sunday because of all the work tomorrow, but I really wanted to spend time with you like this.”
“Aww, you’re so sweet.” Kate pretended to sniffle.
“I know I am.” Tiffany bragged, then reached for the glass that had been waiting in the holder beside her, one she had filled up with whiskey before Kate had arrived. “I know I’m not supposed to drink because I’m pregnant, but that doesn’t mean I can’t pour you a drink. Here you go.”
Kate took the glass without thinking too much about it. “Thanks!
“So, what’s up with you and still posting pictures from that wedding?” Tiffany poured herself a glass of juice, glancing at Kate’s glass that was still full as she hadn’t yet taken a sip.
“Come on, Tiff. You make it sound like it’s annoying. Give me a break. It’s just that I’m still not over my friend’s wedding. It was so beautiful that I wish I could go back in time, but hey, that would mean I wouldn’t get to experience the fun we’re about to have. We haven’t met up like this since I arrived. My schedule has been so busy with clients and it’s all thanks to you.”
“Don’t mention it,” Tiffany said smoothly. “I know you’ve been working hard, so let’s get this party started. Drink up!”
She raised her glass and Kate cheered just before the glasses clinked.
As Kate began to drink from her glass, Tiffany watched her closely, glad her plan was already in motion.
“Damn, drinking it all at once?” Tiffany teased her.
“I really needed that,” Kate admitted, her eyes lighting up as if she had just remembered something important. “Hey, your dress at the gala was so gorgeous that people are still talking about it. You completely stole the night!”
Tiffany rolled her eyes, hating the fact that she had to keep pretending a bit longer.
“Yeah,” she said lazily. “They’re definitely still talking about it, but not as much as my parents‘ divorce. I didn’t see it coming.”
“I didn’t either. It must be so hard on you. I’m really sorry.”
When Kate gently placed her hand on top for comfort, Tiffany held in her scoff. No amount of sympathy from her friend was going to change what she had planned for that night.
“Let’s not talk about that and have a good time instead,” Tiffany said, getting impatient.

Kate was my carved that she even turned up the music. Her frini just watched her dance like she was entertained, even tapang fær frau as if it were a countdown
ally. Kate stopped dening and langing as she touched the side of her head
“Fucker’s way I’m getting drink this fast tonight. She groened.
“That might be a first for you.” Tiffany said, still watching her closely with anticipation.
“Mayte i should whod” She shook her head roughly, as if trying to get rid of whatever feeling was taking over her.
Is everything okay? Tiffany asked with fake concern.
“Tiff, I don’t feel so good. We might not make it to the…
She rested the back of her head against the seat, her groans growing weaker.
Leaning forward with satisfaction, Tiffany said. “We might not make it to the what?”
She mocked her some more, clearly aware that she wouldn’t get a response from her. It only took a few more seconds and finally, Kate passed out,
Turning down the music, Tiffany instructed the chauffeur to turn the limousine around and back to Kate’s place.
When Kate opened her eyes and her vision adjusted, the first thing she noticed was that she was in her bedroom, judging by the mirror that was just across from her.
There was a slight discomfort at the back of her head and when she attempted to touch it, she couldn’t freely move her hands. She looked down and immediately realized she was on the floor, tied up at the wrists and ankles. The ropes were tied around one leg of the bed,
Her first thought was that she’d been kidnapped but when she looked to the left, her breath caught in her throat. Tiffany was on the other side of the room, sitting comfortably with a pair of scissors and facing the floor.
“Good, you’re finally awake.”
“W–What’s going on here?”
“Don’t talk,” Tiffany said, getting up and raising her head with a glare.
“But–but how are we back here? Why am I tied up? Who did this?
“I did.”
“What?” Kate’s voice trembled.
Tiffany sighed as she began to approach. “You have to admit that I’m pretty good at tightening ropes. I mean just look at you, unable to set yourself free.”
Kate wouldn’t stop and every word that came from her lips was so annoying that Tiffany shut her up with a hard slap across the face.
