Chapter 162

I stepped back into the corridor again, moving as far away as I could from the entrance of that furniture store.
After what I’d done to Grayson, there was no way he was going to immediately come after me. Still, I wanted as much distance as possible between us.

Neither Ella nor Zoey replied to my texts and even when I called them, they didn’t pick up.The mall was so huge and had several floors that I didn’t know where to start.
I didn’t want to look like I was lost, so I moved around with ease as I looked in all directions around me.
I stopped in my tracks when I spotted a sign leading to the restroom. I needed to use it anyway, so I began to head towards that direction. There was a narrow passage that would lead me to the restrooms and when I walked through it and turned at the corner, I found Zoey and Aiden kissing passionately.
It was so unexpected that I gasped, making her push him away.
“Harper!” she said with a heavy breath, her eyes wide open. “It’s not what it looks like!”
Aiden waved at me with a smile as he stood beside her, his lips now stained with her purple lipstick. “It’s definitely what it looks like.”
I could only blink with raised eyebrows as I looked back at Zoey, who shut her eyes tightly like she’d been caught doing something she wasn’t supposed to.
Snapping out of it, I said, “I didn’t even know I’d find you guys here. I was just heading to the ladies‘ room.”
Neither of them even said anything in response to what I had just said.
When she opened her eyes, they landed right on him, like she knew where exactly he’d be. I couldn’t read her expression from where I was, but he smirked at her as began to walk away.
“I’ll call you when I get home. You better pick up.”
She didn’t nod in agreement. She just watched him as he walked away.
When he walked past me, he said, “I better go and find my brother. He might’ve been as lucky with Ella as I was over here.”
Zoey shut her eyes again, like hearing that was far from what had happened.
After he was out of sight, I approached her while shaking my head. I wasn’t judging her. I only intended to tease her.
“Damn, that was quite a sight to see.”
She huffed, grabbing my hand and pulling me along with her into the ladies‘ room.
She let my hand go right by the sinks, ruffling her hair as she said, “What you saw was an accident.”
My head tilted with a scoff. “So, your tongue just slipped into his mouth by accident? And the way you had your hands in his hair was also an accident? For someone who’s been acting like she wants nothing to do with Aiden, you were all over him like you didn’t want that moment to end.”
“It’s just…we….shit!” She whispered.
She was about to explain herself when one of the stalls opened and a lady stepped out.
