“Still want to give them space because of what happened by the stairs?
I shook my head dismissively. “It was nothing”
He laughed like he didn’t believe me. “Are you sure about that? I saw your face when he wenged you and took Harger

I sighed heavily, thinking about that exact moment. “Anna is still adjusting,”
“Of course she is.”
He began to hum, like he had given up on the topic.
I was still watching the Porsche when I said, “I saw the two of you arguing outside
I expected him to respond immediately, but he didn’t. When I looked over, he wasn’t even defensive, he was just smiling so himself.
My eyes narrowed with amusement. “Still thinking about how you went from arguing to laughing with her?”
He instantly turned serious as he cleared his throat, “I’m starving
“Of course you are.” I leaned back in my seat and finally faced the road ahead, because I knew something he didn’t want to admit.
My uncle and I were the first to arrive at the restaurant’s parking lot and after we stepped out, we just leaned against the car to wait for Harper and Anna.
He was in the middle of complimenting the restaurant I had suggested when I received a call from my father.
I wanted to excuse myself, but my uncle didn’t mind, so I picked up right there.
“Hey, dad.”
“I see you had a blast last night celebrating Harper’s birthday,” he said from the other end of the line.

expected him to disapprove of that, but I was in for a surprise.
“Once in a while, it’s good to get away. I used to do that as well. I need to see you later in the afternoon It’s very important my you have to make it.”
He suddenly sounded so serious that my eyes narrowed. “Is everything alright?”
Just come home and we’ll talk”
And with that, he ended the call, making me tilt my head as I wondered what was going on
“Is everything okay?” Uncle Sebastian asked.
“Dad wants to see me later and I feel like something’s wrong”
“Well, you’ll only get to find out when you meet him.”
We were discussing what the possibilities were when the Porsche drove in and parked beside the Jeep.
I immediately went over to Harper’s side and opened the door for her.
It took her a moment to step out as she just stared at me with a bright smile while she seemed like she was deep in thought It was the first time she had ever looked at me like that. I didn’t know how to explain it, but she looked at me like I was someone special and it felt so good.
“What’s up? Never seen such a gorgeous blonde haired guy before?” I bragged.
I expected her to playfully roll her eyes or something, but that smile didn’t fade even a little. Not even the look in her eyes changed.
“I don’t know how to put it into words,” she admitted, still looking at me like it was special, “but when I find the right words,
I’ll know.”
Nodding in understanding, I said, “Until then, how about you take my hand? Unless you prefer to see me stand here all day.”
She let out a short laugh before taking my hand and stepping out of the car.
We were already holding hands when she tightened the grip. I looked down, then back at her face, loving the feeling of how it felt like she didn’t want to let go.
As we walked over to the other side, I said, “How did it feel driving the Porsche for the first time?”
“Gosh! The rush was amazing!” she said with wide eyes.
With so much excitement, she began to list everything she loved about it and I just watched her the entire time. It meant so much to me to see her so full of joy.
We were walking over to my uncle, who was now standing with Anna as she scrolled on her phone.
Harper was still talking about the interior and spent more time on the sound system.

Harper was so amused by it that she took the phone so she could watch it herself.
