The Jilted Alpha (Jaxon and Sable) novel Chapter 46

Sable POV

I look up and see the entrance of the pack border. Everything feels foreign to me here now. I look at the guard. It’s Tony. He is a decent fighter. When he comes to our window, I roll it down, smiling, “Hey Tony!”

“Sable.” He is very curt and there is a tone of animosity, “Back to get your things?”

I’m taken aback by his tone. I always treated everyone with respect. Moving from Dark Flame isn’t personal. I met my mate, and I am leaving to be with him. He can’t come here. He has his own pack to run.

“Elder Crane and his team are here. Please proceed.” He turned away and didn’t spare me another glance.

I look at Jaxon, and I feel the hurt in my heart. I lead these men into countless battles. I saved Tony’s life more than once and he treated me so coldly. I guess kindness is fleeting for more people than I thought.

We enter inside the borders and make our way to the pack house, where Alpha Darius is waiting with Beta Anton. Both of them look serious. Alpha Darius looks serious with a hint of jealousy. What is going on?

As we stop the car and get out, I walk over to Alpha Darius and Beta Anton. “Hello Alpha. Hello Beta.”

Darius is looking at me and with a curt voice, “Sable. Long time.”

“Barely a month, Alpha Darius.”

“Right. Well, you know how to get to your cottage. Beta Anton will accompany you and your new pack. If you need anything, he will see to it.” He said coldly.

“Um, thank you.”

Jaxon steps up and approaches Alpha Darius, “Alpha Darius, thank you for allowing my mate to gather her things. We appreciate you going along with this truce.”

“I do not need nor want your thanks. You took my lead warrior and in any other circumstance, I would have come after you to recover her. I am being forced into this truce, but do not think that I would do this willingly.” He sneered.

“Alpha told the pack that you renounced our pack to become part of Winter Moon. He didn’t mention you were mated to Alpha Jaxon. So, the warriors destroyed everything.”

I looked at Jaxon and cried into his chest, “My mother’s rocking chair. My memories. My home. It’s all destroyed.”

Jaxon is radiating with fury. “Elder Crane!” He yelled.

A moment later, Crane appears, and he gasps when he sees the cottage. Jaxon looks at him, “Is this the truce that Alpha Darius was told to give? My mate’s things, her parent’s memories, all of it is destroyed!” He growled.

Crane looks at Beta Anton and yells, “WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?!”

Beta’s eyes widened again and repeated to Crane what he said to me. Crane looked like he was about to burst into flames. “YOU AND DARIUS ALLOWED THIS TO HAPPEN?! I WANT DARIUS HERE, NOW!”

I’m still crying in Jaxon’s chest. He is rubbing my back and trying to console me. I hear the heavy footprints of Darius coming towards us and the rage and hurt I feel resurfaced. I broke away from Jaxon and march up to Darius and clocked him straight between the eyes, making him stumble backwards.
