The Jilted Alpha (Jaxon and Sable) novel Chapter 45

Sable POV

It feels like ages since I’ve been back to my cottage; since returning to Dark Flame. Yesterday, after the shower with Jaxon and our walk around the pack, we both kissed each other good night and went to our separate rooms. I don’t think ‘room’ is the right word. It’s our separate apartment. I could tell that the bond is getting stronger, now that he has finally accepted the Moon Goddess’ blessing. We laughed and talked about so many different things, and I finally felt myself relaxing.

Nia has been over the moon, talking to Drax and she is acting like a love-struck teenager. She is anxious for Jaxon and I to complete our mate bond so that she and Drax can complete theirs. I understand where she is coming from and every interaction with Jaxon is making it harder and harder for me to say no. Every time he is holding my hand, and I feel the electric jolts, every kiss, every time he makes me come, he is making me addicted to him. I just want to know what else he is hiding. If he can be completely open, without secrets, then I think I would be able to trust him.

‘He said after we get back from Dark Flame, he would tell us the rest of the story. Drax says he is serious about telling us, too. He is anxious for Jaxon to tell us already so we can finally move to completing the mate bond!’ Nia says, and she is giddy talking to me about it.

My chest starts to swell. I can’t wait for him to tell me the rest of his secrets. If what Nia is saying is true, and he is serious, then I think I will finally be able to breathe, because he is trusting me and the mate bond. Thinking about it is making me want to leave now for Dark Flame; so, I rush to Jaxon’s room and knock on the door.

When the door opens, my eyes widen. Goddess he is a good-looking man. It’s really not fair. I mean I’m not soft around the edges like other women. I’m built like a warrior, because I am one. I think I look too masculine, but Jaxon doesn’t seem to mind.

“Like what you see, my little doe?” He smirks.

I feel my cheeks warming up, “Maybe. Maybe Not. I’ll never tell.” I said, “What time are we leaving for Dark Flame?”

He smirks at me again and shakes his head, amused. “Impatient, are we?”

“Yes. I’d like to gather my things and close the loop on the Dark Flame pack.” I said.

He grabs me by my waist and pulls me into his room before shutting the doors and putting my hands over my head. He presses his body against mine and crashes his lips on mine. I moan into the kiss, and he growls pushing his body further against me; making me feel my arousal between my thighs.

When he pulls away, much too soon for Nia’s liking and mine; his breathing is ragged. “Do you have any idea how much you drive me insane with your scent?” He says.

“Tell me.” I said. I think I’m being flirtatious, but his eyes darkened and it’s the same look when he is full of desire.

“I will show you later, little doe.” He says.

“Promise?” I wiggle my eyebrow at him and he chuckles.

“I swear it.” His voice lowered, and I think my heart skipped a beat.

“But first, breakfast, then we will get everyone together and head out.” He added.

***

“So, Jett is older, Jade is younger. Then Indie and Brayden. Who’s next?”

“Then there are my parents. Jacob and Joanna. My parents are very involved with each other. They are fated mates. They taught us to respect the mate bond too. Just like your parents did.” He said, looking a little sheepish, “My folks might be a little on the fence with you because of my first mate. But they will love you once they get to know you.”

“If they are on the fence with me, do you think your mom will still help me with the Luna Ceremony?”

“I’ll talk to her. Once I tell them you are my second chance, I’m sure my mother will help you out.”

“When do you want to bring them to Winter Moon?”

“I was thinking about next week? I will call them tomorrow. I have other plans for us tonight.” He said the last part in a low and sultry voice, and it made my spine shiver.

“Tonight?”

“Yes, little doe. Tonight.” He says, full of an unspoken promise.

The driver then speaks up, “Sir, we have arrived in Dark Flame.”
