The Lies Behind Her Marriage novel Chapter 237

Sebastian's Test.

SNAP.

Noelle and Silas turned to find Celine taking another shot, as if the seven photos she had already taken of them kissing were not enough.

“Noelle, we have evidence,” Celine said, clutching her phone as if her life depended on it. “You kissed my son.”

“And so, you have to take responsibility.”

“After your divorce, you must marry Silas.”

Noelle, “...”

“Think about what people will say about him,” Celine continued, shaking her head. “His innocent lips have been taken!”

Silas, “Mom—”

“It’s only right that you both marry!” Celine declared.

“Mom?” Silas stepped back, but as he did, he squeezed Noelle’s hand. “Before that, we should celebrate. Let’s have a grand dinner—invite Bianca over—”

Silas was suddenly on his phone. “I’ll call Nathan and see if he can make it. Serena must also come home early.”

“Um.” Noelle pointed to the laptop. “What about the video?”

“We can watch that tomorrow. Whatever is in there will only upset me, I’m certain of it.” A faint smile formed on Silas’s lips, and Noelle thought he looked really handsome. “Right now, I just want us to celebrate.”

“Congratulations, Mr. Vander, Miss Rowan,” Officer Muller said with a smile. “The results confirm what we suspected. This should help us move forward with the case.”

“Aside from coordinating with your lawyers regarding the evidence against Gwen Porter and Brian Kingsley, Child Services has requested that Theo undergo a full medical check-up, just to be certain,” the officer added.

“We can do that tomorrow,” Silas said. “Thank you, Officer, for bringing us good news.”

After the DNA test confirmation, Noelle and Silas prepared for a surprise dinner.

Silas went out to buy clothes and shoes for Theo. Meanwhile, Noelle helped in the kitchen. She baked a cake and cooked food she used to prepare for Benson. This time, she felt more content knowing her son deserved it more.

By six in the evening, Serena arrived. She had invited Alice and Xavier. Naturally, the Hartley family came with gifts for Theo.

At six-thirty, Nathaniel and Bianca arrived.

“Brother-in-law,” Nathaniel called to Silas at the dining table.

“Brother-in-law,” Silas replied.

The two hugged each other, leaving everyone amused.

“Congratulations on finding your son,” Nathaniel said. He then whispered something to Silas that made the man both entertained and a little smug.

“Congrats, Brother! I was so happy when you called,” Serena called. When she realized Theo wasn’t around, she asked, “Where is he?”

“The kids are getting ready. Let me check on them,” Noelle said.

“I’ll come with you,” Serena said.

She and Serena hurried upstairs toward the kids’ rooms.

“They’re in Sebastian’s room, Miss Noelle, Miss Serena. They were comparing clothes,” Leslie, the maid, said, chuckling as she shared the information.

The door was already ajar, so Noelle and Serena simply watched and listened to their discussion.

“Do I look strange?” Theo asked, looking at himself in the mirror. He was wearing the new clothes and shoes Silas bought him. “It looks too expensive. I look too rich.”

Noelle felt her eyes grow teary as she listened. When she looked at Serena, she realized she was just as emotional.

“They’re right,” Serena said. “It shouldn’t really matter, but the DNA confirmation will give Theo more confidence to call himself a Vander. This dinner announcement is perfect.”

Noelle nodded. She pushed the door open further and announced their presence. “Kids, it’s time to head down.”

Serena and Noelle happily brought the kids to the dining area, where everyone was waiting.

The anticipation built in the room.

Celine could barely hold back her tears.

Silas invited Theo to stand in front of him. Noelle naturally stood beside him.

“I’d like to announce that the DNA results arrived earlier this afternoon,” Silas began. The adults already knew, but the surprise was for Theo. “The results confirm that Theo is my son.”

“Theo… is a Vander.”

Noelle smiled as she glanced at Theo.

Theo’s eyes widened as he looked up at Silas. “You are really my dad?”

“Yes,” Silas nodded. “And Noelle is your mom. From now on, never hold back. Don’t hesitate to call me your dad, and Noelle your mommy.”

Theo broke down in tears and hugged Silas tightly. “Dad! Daddy!”

He grabbed Noelle’s hand and cried, “Mommy! I have a mom! I'm not alone. I'm not an orphan!"

That night, Theo didn’t just gain parents; he found a family.

And with it, a place where he finally belonged.
