Marriage Proposals.
“Today’s gathering was really nice,” Nathaniel remarked while pulling the blanket down.
He and Serena were getting ready for bed.
Nathaniel only returned to Rexam to support his brother-in-law. He was leaving early the next day for Velmon. So, Serena and the kids opted to spend the night at his home.
“It was. Theo was very happy,” Serena agreed, smiling. “I think that gave him the confidence to feel more at home.”
She got into bed and leaned against the pillows. Then she turned to Nathaniel. “You know, you never had a paternity test with the kids. Maybe we should.”
Nathaniel looked at her strangely. He answered, “No, we don’t.”
“What do you mean?” Serena reacted. “What if the kids aren’t yours?”
Nathaniel made a complicated expression. He nearly choked but soon said, “That’s not funny at all. Bastin has my looks—how can he not be my son? Did you forget we have the same blood type? And since he and Ali are twins, then of course, they are my kids!”
“Besides!” He raised his chest. “You’d never cheat on me.”
“Duh?” Serena rolled her eyes. “We divorced, remember?”
Nathaniel was stupefied. Why the hell was this DNA test coming out of nowhere? He said, “No. I don’t need a paper to prove my kids are mine.”
“Fine, if you insist on not going through the paternity test, then I might as well take advantage of the situation.” Serena paused and shared, “My family already agreed to change the children’s last name to yours.”
Nathaniel stilled.
Honestly, he nearly cried, like a child who had been given his favorite toy. He stuttered, “Do you mean that, Love?”
“Yes,” Serena calmly said, like it was nothing, but to Nathaniel, it meant the world to him. “I’m eager for my kids to have full rights to your inheritance.”
A laugh escaped his lips. He hugged Serena and kissed her cheek. “Thank you so much, Serena.”
He kissed her cheek again and again until he asked, “And you? What about you? When are you going to change your last name to mine?”
Serena looked at him seriously. She said, “I love you too, but I haven’t fully taken advantage of the Vander name yet. It would be a waste to switch too soon.”
Nathaniel, “...”

Meanwhile, back at the Vander’s estate.
“Mom, Dad, can I sleep with you both tonight?” Theo asked. His eyes sparkled as he approached Silas and Noelle after dinner.
Noelle looked at Silas. She was about to reject the idea, but the man said, “Sure. We can all stay in my room.”
And that was how they all ended up in Silas’s room.
Theo was beaming as he rested between Noelle and Silas. With his blanket up to his chest, he said, “This is my first time.”
“We are glad to grant any of your wishes,” Silas said. “Name it, and we will provide.”
“A helicopter, a car, a life-size robot—anything,” Silas added.
Theo was laughing at Silas’s absurd offers. Even Noelle was amused. Then he had to say, “Even a brother or a sister.”
Noelle, “...”
“Really?” Theo asked in delight. “But I like Ali and Bastin. They are like my brother and sister too.”
“Yes, but they are your cousins. It’s different,” Silas said.
While Noelle was giving Silas the ‘What are you talking about’ look, he completely ignored her.
