The Lies Behind Her Marriage novel Chapter 242

A Taste Of Something Better.

“Wow, Mom, Dad? This is really delicious. It’s different from the pizzas I have ever tried!" Theo exclaimed. He kept eating and eating, his eyes gleaming. “Back at the orphanage, we’ve only tried Slice District and Crust and Crown.”

Silas frowned, hearing that.

Slice District and Crust and Crown were low cost pizza brands. They were good, but such brands often used highly processed cheese and canned tomato sauces. He was about to educate his son when Noelle beat him to it.

"This is a better pizza!" Noelle shared.

"The restaurant uses real, juicy tomatoes squished by hand to make the sauce. Instead of processed cheese, they use real mozzarella, which is extra stretchy and tastes like fresh milk. To finish it off, they add a tiny bit of healthy olive oil to make everything taste amazing and help you grow strong!"

Theo nodded before taking another bite. “That sounds amazing.”

Both Silas and Noelle laughed.

Silas ruffled Theo’s hair and said, “I’m glad you like it, but while pizzas are great, you can’t always eat them.”

Noelle agreed. “In general, too much of everything is not good.”

“We can have pizza nights occasionally. What we can eat daily are healthy meat, fruits, and vegetables,” Noelle said. “Just like what Grandma Celine and Leslie prepare for us at home.”

“Yes, vegetables are also good. We eat a lot of vegetables at the orphanage, but not a lot of meat. Miss Lorelie often said that meat is expensive sometimes. And when we have meat, it’s always chicken,” Theo shared.

After what Theo said, Silas noticed Noelle fell silent.

Later, when Theo was choosing ice cream from the restaurant’s front counter, she said, “It’s different with Theo, I guess. It was always hard to convince Benson to eat healthy because Brian also splurges on him. Later, I found out that Gwen spoils him with whatever he likes to eat.”

“I’m glad that we agree on how to raise him then,” Silas said, smiling.

Noelle smiled back at him. Then, she asked, “About our plan. Are you sure we are going to wait until the Local AI trials?”

Silas nodded. “I want Brian publicly humiliated.”

“During the local AI trials, you can help Serena finalize the AI massage chair she has been working on,” he continued. “Not only will it be a good venue for VanderMed Technologies to promote our latest product, but it is also a good place to start re-introducing you as an independent AI engineer.”

Silas knew that Serena had shared the progress of her work with Noelle a few times.

So, Noelle knew exactly what she could contribute. She said, “The AI chair Serena had come up with is really a strong concept. She has already done most of the groundwork.”

She paused, thinking it through. “I guess what I can help with is optimization.”

“Honestly, I’m excited to help. I can refine the core algorithm, retrain the model with better body-response data, and integrate it with a dedicated chip so the processing happens locally.”

The more she talked about it, the more she smiled. Silas could tell this was her passion.

“I’m glad to help you stay where your heart is,” Silas remarked.
