Nora and Franklin, flanked by two guards, charged into the room, their faces completely drained of color.
Seeing the massive handful of pills in Gideon's hand, Franklin lunged forward in absolute panic, practically crawling across the floor to tackle him.
"You can't take any more of those!"
The old butler grabbed Gideon's arm with both hands, using all his body weight to pull it down as tears flooded his eyes.
"You'll ruin your health! Giselle would be heartbroken watching you destroy yourself from heaven! Please, snap out of it!"
Gideon's strength was terrifying. His eyes blazing crimson, he clutched the pills tightly, fighting viciously to break the butler's grip.
Driven by sheer desperation, Franklin yanked the bottle and the loose pills from Gideon's hand and hurled them fiercely against the far wall.
"Sir... look at me, it's Franklin... Giselle is watching you. If you kill yourself, the Hayes bloodline ends..."
Franklin hugged Gideon's trembling shoulders tightly, using his rough sleeve to wipe the powdery pill residue from the CEO's face, weeping openly.
The butler's desperate pleas finally broke through.
Gideon stopped fighting. Completely drained, he slumped back against the nightstand, closed his eyes, and let his chest heave violently.
He abandoned the pills, surrendering to a suffocating silence.
Seeing him abandon the suicide attempt, Franklin finally let go, collapsing onto the floor beside him, gasping for air and wiping away his tears.
Standing at the entrance, Nora was completely paralyzed by shock, staring at the scene unfolding before her.
A flash of muffled lightning briefly illuminated the dark room.
The untouchable Gideon Hayes—the man who ruled the Metropolis with absolute, arrogant authority—was curled up by the bed, completely stripped of his dignity, his shirt stained with blood.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Love I Begged For Was Never Real
Storyline is good..but author is wasting time on character's thoughts.why r u streching chapters it's really really boring and annoying.conversation between them childish.she is only saying him get out n what right do u have ..not telling him what he did to her not questioning him..demanding answer. And what happened to him why sudden change of heart care to explain author.....
For the past few chapters either she is sick or he is. It is slightly boring. Author pls let them talk about the issues , she is not at all scolding him.. every scoldings are playing in her mind only. We want some talk between them....
I am also thinking the same....
Has he mistaken Nora as Giselle?...
What happened to him🤔 did he forget everything?...
Hey can u also upload the book " woke up married to my cheating ex"....
Does he know the orphan girl is actually Nora?...
So is he trying to justify everything? At wat rite??? Wer were he wen she needed him the most.......
Haha finally going to see redemption...
I don’t think reborn will happen in this novel. It will be full of her blood only. Actually The title should be changed to only Nora’s suffering instead the love I begged was never real....
