Had she been there?
That city was the graveyard of her youth. It buried a decade of her passion, her career, her parents, and the unborn child that had melted into blood before it ever saw the light of day.
To her, that city was the most glamorous dream in the world—and the purgatory that had shattered her into a million pieces.
Nora pulled her gaze back, looking into Anya's clear, hopeful eyes.
She neither nodded nor shook her head. She simply offered another soft smile, brushing the topic away as if it were nothing.
The ocean breeze ruffled the window frames.
Leaning against the edge of the workbench, Nora's mind involuntarily drifted back to that stormy night two years ago.
She remembered throwing herself off that towering cliff, the immediate, suffocating chill of the freezing seawater swallowing her whole.
The raging waves had acted like massive, invisible hands, mercilessly tearing at her body.
The freezing, salty water had violently flooded her nose and lungs, stripping away her final breath of oxygen.
She had thought that would be her end.
Every grudge, every debt, every ounce of despair would sink to the bottom of the ocean along with her broken body, buried forever in the silt.
But God apparently felt she hadn't suffered enough. The lifelong sentence hadn't yet reached its end.
She had lost consciousness in her despair, but death had refused to take her.
The turbulent currents had carried her far away, eventually washing her half-dead body onto the deserted beach of this remote southern town.
It was a kind local woman out beachcombing at dawn who had found Nora lying in the rocks, her skin bleached from the water, her breathing virtually non-existent.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Love I Begged For Was Never Real
Storyline is good..but author is wasting time on character's thoughts.why r u streching chapters it's really really boring and annoying.conversation between them childish.she is only saying him get out n what right do u have ..not telling him what he did to her not questioning him..demanding answer. And what happened to him why sudden change of heart care to explain author.....
For the past few chapters either she is sick or he is. It is slightly boring. Author pls let them talk about the issues , she is not at all scolding him.. every scoldings are playing in her mind only. We want some talk between them....
I am also thinking the same....
Has he mistaken Nora as Giselle?...
What happened to him🤔 did he forget everything?...
Hey can u also upload the book " woke up married to my cheating ex"....
Does he know the orphan girl is actually Nora?...
So is he trying to justify everything? At wat rite??? Wer were he wen she needed him the most.......
Haha finally going to see redemption...
I don’t think reborn will happen in this novel. It will be full of her blood only. Actually The title should be changed to only Nora’s suffering instead the love I begged was never real....
