Nora settled into life in the small town.
It was far from the noise of the city, cut off from the endless flow of information, and the locals were simple and kind.
No one here knew the infamous Mrs. Hayes of The Metropolis, nor did they know the disgraced plagiarist the internet had relentlessly torn apart.
Mrs. Chambers simply told everyone that Nora was a distant niece seeking refuge, giving her the space to quietly start over in this isolated corner of the world.
She accepted her physical limitations. She accepted the reality that she would never hold a drawing pencil again.
Using her deformed hands, she clumsily learned to water the potted plants and wipe the dust off the display windows.
Six months ago, Mrs. Chambers passed away peacefully in her sleep, bringing a quiet end to her lonely but immensely kind life.
Before she died, she held Nora's scarred hands and pressed the keys to the flower shop into her palm.
She told Nora that while she didn't know what horrific things she had endured in the past, she hoped the vitality of these flowers would keep her company for the rest of her journey.
*Child, you have to keep living, she had said.*
From that day on, Nora became the new owner of the shop.
Not long after Mrs. Chambers passed, Nora found Anya on the street.
Anya was an orphan who used to bus tables at a local diner, frequently subjected to beatings and verbal abuse by the owner for being too slow.
Seeing the girl secretly wiping her tears in an alley, Nora was reminded of herself in the children's home, desperately wishing for salvation. She saw the child who, if it had survived, would have one day called her mother.
She brought Anya back to the flower shop, provided her with meals, and let her work as an assistant.
In this remote, insulated little town, no one knew who she was. No one knew the blood she had spilled in The Metropolis, nor the tragic past she carried on her shoulders.
"Nora?"
Anya's voice yanked Nora out of her long reverie.
Holding a rag, Anya wiped down the cash register while staring at her boss curiously.
"What are you zoning out for?"

The readers' comments on the novel: The Love I Begged For Was Never Real
Storyline is good..but author is wasting time on character's thoughts.why r u streching chapters it's really really boring and annoying.conversation between them childish.she is only saying him get out n what right do u have ..not telling him what he did to her not questioning him..demanding answer. And what happened to him why sudden change of heart care to explain author.....
For the past few chapters either she is sick or he is. It is slightly boring. Author pls let them talk about the issues , she is not at all scolding him.. every scoldings are playing in her mind only. We want some talk between them....
I am also thinking the same....
Has he mistaken Nora as Giselle?...
What happened to him🤔 did he forget everything?...
Hey can u also upload the book " woke up married to my cheating ex"....
Does he know the orphan girl is actually Nora?...
So is he trying to justify everything? At wat rite??? Wer were he wen she needed him the most.......
Haha finally going to see redemption...
I don’t think reborn will happen in this novel. It will be full of her blood only. Actually The title should be changed to only Nora’s suffering instead the love I begged was never real....
