The Love I Begged For Was Never Real novel Chapter 475

A group of burly men walked in and, without even taking a second glance, immediately ordered the shop's entire stock of red roses and white lilies to be boxed up.

They left behind a thick stack of cash—the paper band still perfectly intact—refused any change, and swiftly walked out with their arms full of flowers.

Anya happily gathered the cash from the counter, hopped onto a barstool, and counted the bills one by one before neatly sliding them into the register.

"Nora, our revenue has multiplied so many times this month!"

Anya reported enthusiastically, her eyes sparkling with dreams of the future. "Our shop must be really making a name for itself in town. If business stays this good every month, we'll be able to expand soon, maybe even rent the warehouse next door!"

Sitting on her wooden chair, Nora watched the young girl's joy, but the suffocating weight in her own chest only grew heavier.

Just a few steps away, Gideon sat near the new display stand, casually flipping through a gardening magazine he had found somewhere, looking perfectly relaxed.

The man quietly played the role of an observer, acting as if this fabricated frenzy had absolutely nothing to do with him.

For the past half-month, he had barely left that spot, just sitting there, coldly monitoring her every move.

Nora stood up, her patience entirely exhausted, and walked over to him.

She reached out with stiff hands, grabbed the sleeve of his expensive shirt, and forcefully yanked the man up from his chair.

Gideon followed her pull and stood up without a hint of resistance, letting her drag him to the storage room at the back of the shop.

"Tell your people to stop coming."

Nora let go of his sleeve and took a half-step back, her voice freezing cold.

"I don't need your charity disguised as patronage."

Gideon stood in the cramped space, looking at her with a calm, steady gaze.

"I am merely supporting your business."
