His thumbs pressed firmly into the acupressure points on the back of her hands, the pressure steady and drawn out, attempting to banish the agony tormenting her.
Nora slowly opened her eyes in the darkness.
Through the soft glow of the nightlight, she had a clear view of his lowered profile.
His brows were slightly furrowed, his gaze terrifyingly focused.
He sat at the edge of her bed, tirelessly rubbing her joints for hours on end.
It wasn't until the gray light of dawn crested the horizon, until the warmth of his massage finally eased the pain, that she was able to slip back into a deep slumber.
Outside of her mandatory physical therapy sessions, Nora still visited the flower shop.
Gideon no longer paraded around with a massive entourage of bodyguards like he used to. His black SUV would park quietly in the shade on a street corner, staying out of the way of traffic, while his security detail maintained order from a far distance.
Gideon himself wore simple dress shirts, following silently behind her.
Over time, Anya had grown accustomed to this quiet, incredibly wealthy man who was more than willing to do menial chores around the shop.
Whenever Nora was busy wrapping bouquets or trimming stems, Gideon would sit by the small round table in the corner, quietly flipping through medical texts on hand rehabilitation and nerve regeneration.
There were no endless interrogations. No sharp confrontations.
The setting sun spilled through the glass windows, stretching their shadows until they slightly overlapped.
However, repairing nerves and tendons was thousands of times harder than anyone could have imagined.
One afternoon.
The atmosphere in the physical therapy room felt different than usual.
After carefully checking the muscle tone and joint mobility in Nora's hands, Elias jotted down the final set of numbers on her chart.
He placed a specialized sketching pencil into the tray in front of her easel, his tone encouraging and comforting.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Love I Begged For Was Never Real
Storyline is good..but author is wasting time on character's thoughts.why r u streching chapters it's really really boring and annoying.conversation between them childish.she is only saying him get out n what right do u have ..not telling him what he did to her not questioning him..demanding answer. And what happened to him why sudden change of heart care to explain author.....
For the past few chapters either she is sick or he is. It is slightly boring. Author pls let them talk about the issues , she is not at all scolding him.. every scoldings are playing in her mind only. We want some talk between them....
I am also thinking the same....
Has he mistaken Nora as Giselle?...
What happened to him🤔 did he forget everything?...
Hey can u also upload the book " woke up married to my cheating ex"....
Does he know the orphan girl is actually Nora?...
So is he trying to justify everything? At wat rite??? Wer were he wen she needed him the most.......
Haha finally going to see redemption...
I don’t think reborn will happen in this novel. It will be full of her blood only. Actually The title should be changed to only Nora’s suffering instead the love I begged was never real....
