Several imposing bodyguards from his detail immediately rushed forward, hurriedly carrying Gideon's unconscious, mud-soaked body into the flower shop.
"Ma'am, leave him to us."
The bodyguards didn't dare delay, carefully laying the man flat on a small folding cot in the storage room at the back of the shop.
"Hurry! Get the doctor over here!"
Anya shrank by the door, her hands tightly gripping a dry towel. Her eyes were red from fright as she tugged at the hem of Nora's shirt.
"Nora... he's burning up, it's like he's on fire..."
Nora stood at the foot of the cot, her hands subconsciously gripping the edges of her own clothes as her gaze fell upon the man's bloodless face.
"Bring a few clean, dry towels. Dry him off first."
Nora spoke, her voice slightly hoarse.
"Okay, okay, I'll go get them right now!" Anya quickly turned and ran to the front to dig them out.
After receiving the emergency call from The Head of Security, the private medical team braved the torrential rain and rushed into the flower shop at top speed.
The doctor took a pair of scissors and cut straight through the sleeve of Gideon's shirt.
When that left arm—soaked in rain for an entire day—was exposed to the air, the surrounding bodyguards couldn't help but gasp.
The wounds, sliced open by sharp porcelain, were now pale and gaping, the surrounding flesh already beginning to swell and fester.
Deep muscle tissue was exposed, mixed with mud and dirty water. It was a gruesome sight.
"How could you let Mr. Hayes stand in the rain for so long! The wounds have already triggered a severe infection!"
The Head of Security lowered his head.
When Gideon made a decision, subordinates like them had absolutely no right to interfere.
Nora remained standing in the doorway of the storage room, her hands slightly curled at her sides, her eyes calmly watching the medical staff bustling inside.
She watched the doctor clean the wounds. She watched this man—who was always so high and mighty, so arrogant—lying so fragilely on a cheap folding cot.
Only after bandaging Gideon's arm and hooking up an IV drip did the doctor let out a small sigh of relief.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Love I Begged For Was Never Real
Storyline is good..but author is wasting time on character's thoughts.why r u streching chapters it's really really boring and annoying.conversation between them childish.she is only saying him get out n what right do u have ..not telling him what he did to her not questioning him..demanding answer. And what happened to him why sudden change of heart care to explain author.....
For the past few chapters either she is sick or he is. It is slightly boring. Author pls let them talk about the issues , she is not at all scolding him.. every scoldings are playing in her mind only. We want some talk between them....
I am also thinking the same....
Has he mistaken Nora as Giselle?...
What happened to him🤔 did he forget everything?...
Hey can u also upload the book " woke up married to my cheating ex"....
Does he know the orphan girl is actually Nora?...
So is he trying to justify everything? At wat rite??? Wer were he wen she needed him the most.......
Haha finally going to see redemption...
I don’t think reborn will happen in this novel. It will be full of her blood only. Actually The title should be changed to only Nora’s suffering instead the love I begged was never real....
