The Head of Security stood in the storm holding the umbrella, completely at a loss, before finally retreating to the side of the car.
Inside the shop, Nora had her back against the door. She was panting heavily, her hands shaking uncontrollably from the violent surge of adrenaline.
Anya peeked out from the back room. She looked at the tall, utterly desolate silhouette standing in the rain outside, then at Nora, who was leaning against the door looking deathly pale. Terrified, Anya held her breath, not daring to utter a single word.
Time ticked by.
For the entire morning, the storm outside showed no signs of stopping; in fact, the downpour only grew heavier.
Anya cautiously stepped forward and handed Nora a dry towel, whispering through a slight sob, "Nora... wipe your face. It's pouring out there, and Mr. Hayes... he's still standing in it..."
"Leave him."
Nora took the towel and wiped the water from her face, her tone frozen and devoid of any warmth. "If he wants to play the madman outside, let him. When he's had enough rain, he'll crawl back to his car."
The storm raged from noon until dusk.
The sky and earth were merged into a blank curtain of white water, the howling winds snapping several thick branches off the sycamore trees at the corner of the street.
Gideon hadn't moved an inch.
The bodyguards across the street had tried multiple times to approach with large black umbrellas, but the man had ruthlessly waved them off every time.
He just stood there, completely alone, right in the dead center of the tempest.
The rain battered his forehead and streamed into his eyes. The bone-deep, freezing chill slowly seeped into his limbs.
The deep gash he had sliced into his forearm with a porcelain shard a few days ago had barely begun to heal. Now, soaked in murky rainwater for hours on end, the gauze had completely fallen off, exposing pale, swollen flesh that looked terrifyingly inflamed.
As the hours dragged on, his lips turned from pale to a sickly purple, but he kept his gaze dead-locked on the closed doors of the flower shop, refusing to shift his feet even a fraction of an inch.
The wound had become severely infected, and a blazing fever ruthlessly hijacked his senses.
By dusk, the rain still hadn't weakened.
That tall, imposing figure finally began to sway in the wind and rain.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Love I Begged For Was Never Real
Storyline is good..but author is wasting time on character's thoughts.why r u streching chapters it's really really boring and annoying.conversation between them childish.she is only saying him get out n what right do u have ..not telling him what he did to her not questioning him..demanding answer. And what happened to him why sudden change of heart care to explain author.....
For the past few chapters either she is sick or he is. It is slightly boring. Author pls let them talk about the issues , she is not at all scolding him.. every scoldings are playing in her mind only. We want some talk between them....
I am also thinking the same....
Has he mistaken Nora as Giselle?...
What happened to him🤔 did he forget everything?...
Hey can u also upload the book " woke up married to my cheating ex"....
Does he know the orphan girl is actually Nora?...
So is he trying to justify everything? At wat rite??? Wer were he wen she needed him the most.......
Haha finally going to see redemption...
I don’t think reborn will happen in this novel. It will be full of her blood only. Actually The title should be changed to only Nora’s suffering instead the love I begged was never real....
