Giselle's shrill scream tore through the entire dining hall.
“All of you are happily discussing having babies as a family, so what am I doing sitting here? Today is Silas's memorial, but none of you care about him, you only care about yourselves! I'm just an extra in this house!”
Seeing her cry, Gideon panicked immediately.
“Giselle!”
Gideon violently dropped Nora's hand and pushed his chair back as he stood up. “I wasn't scolding you. I'll serve you a bowl right now, alright?”
Giselle locked her deadly gaze onto Nora, who was sitting silently beside him.
It's all because of this woman! This bitch definitely whispered some sweet nothings into Gideon's ear! If it wasn't for her, why would Gideon ever lecture me?!
Before anyone could even react, Giselle suddenly lunged forward, snatching the freshly served, boiling bowl of rib soup sitting in front of her, and viciously hurled it straight at Nora across the table.
“Splash—!”
Several cousins nearby shrieked in terror.
Nora was caught completely off guard. She instinctively turned her head and threw her arm up to block it.
“Ah—!”
Nora gasped sharply, instinctively clutching her scalded right cheek. The searing, burning agony caused her physiological tears to stream down instantly.
The bustling dining hall instantly fell dead silent, followed by a chorus of shocked gasps.
“Giselle!”
Gideon's furious, panicked roar exploded in her ears.
Nora opened her eyes, her vision blurred by the soup. She thought Gideon was coming over to check on her injuries, only to see him grabbing Giselle's wrist, his face twisted with absolute tension and anxiety.
“Why would you grab something so hot?! Did you burn your fingers?! Let me see!”
“Don't touch me!”
