The Mafia King's Unknown Doctor Wife novel Chapter 310

"I love you, too."

With a couple of tears and many well-wishes, Sloane and Noah departed from the estate. And mere moments afterwards, it was time for Elena and Massimo to depart, too.

Elena was awed by the Ferraro's second estate in New York. But that didn't mean it was up to the Ferraro's usual standards.

The trails through the woods needed to be cleaned up. Any hazard needed to be noted so that the hunting competition could go off without a hitch. Furthermore, they needed to confirm what animal life was already present and if the numbers of any species needed to be changed.

Boundaries needed to be mapped up. They needed accurate maps, too. And that was just part of the logistics!

They needed to confirm the renovations to the buildings were done. They would be having hundreds of guests, and while some did prefer to stay off site, many had agreed to stay in the Ferraro's provided sleeping quarters.

And then there was coordinating all the early deliveries of goods brought by other mafia families!

Honestly, Elena didn't know how she survived the week of preparations. All she knew is it felt like she rested her eyes for a minute and then it was time for the Ferraro's grand winter party to start.

It was beautiful. Of course, it was beautiful—Elena and Massimo had planned very carefully to make sure it was beautiful. The outside lawn was crisp as guests arrived, there was plenty of valet parking handled by dozens upon dozens of servants, and then each group was lead inside to a dazzling ballroom.

Elena, despite having planned and helped execute it all, was still amazed by it all.

She knew that hundreds of invitations had been sent out, but she was still stunned by how many people showed up. Though the ballroom was the size of several football stadiums, there were still crowds of people everywhere. There were easily thousands of men and women dressed in their finest.

Truly, the only ones who felt out of place were the ones who had declined to bring anything. Even the most arrogant among them felt and looked foolish.

Everything was going well. But Massimo remained vigilant for any signs of trouble. As always, the Mafia King could never get too comfortable—that's when the worst mistakes were made.

As Massimo scanned the crowd, he spotted Fabio. He was surprised the old man had agreed to come—he wasn't active these days at all, really. Massimo knew he needed to greet the geezer before he kicked up a fuss.

But as Massimo moved, he noticed that someone else was heading in Fabio's direction. Someone who absolutely shouldn't see Fabio here.

Elena was mere moments away from running into Fabio.
