"Have you heard from her today?" Massimo repeated. He knew his voice promised a bloody end to anyone who dared test his patience. Massimo just didn't care enough to try to mask his frustrations.

"No," Matteo said shakily. "Is everything okay, Don Ferraro? My parents—"

"Don't speak of this to them," Massimo ordered. "Or anyone, for that matter. Forget this call even happened."

Massimo hung up. There were a few of Elena's usual haunts he could try.
