The Mafia King's Unknown Doctor Wife novel Chapter 380

"Still up for another exhibit?" Noah asked.

"You bet," Elena replied with a forced smile.

When Elena saw the first piece on display, she was pleasantly surprised. It was a strange piece—nothing like what she expected to see. It was clearly a sculpture of a teddy bear but with carved icons of different diner foods attached to it.

The more she looked at it, the more she saw different dishes from all over the country. Elena was impressed by the incredible amount of detail. That must've been way this piece was allowed to be displayed in this exhibit despite the fact that the subject didn't seem to fit with all the fancier, high-brow pieces that were next to it.

Noah caught Elena staring. "It's very different from what we've seen so far today," he remarked quietly.

"Yes," Elena agreed. "It kind of reminds me of that Waitress movie that came out a while ago."

"I can see that," Noah remarked. "The bear was a pretty important item for that film. And those different flavored pies in the corner must be a direct reference to it."

Elena's eyes widened in surprise. "You've seen that film, too?"

Noah nodded. "It was a good one, though I confess I like my romantic comedies to be a little on the lighter side. It drives your mother nuts—if she's going to see a movie, it needs to "have more substance", as she says."

Elena laughed as the two continued to explore the exhibit. "I never would've guessed that."

"She rarely sees movies anyways," Noah continued. "It took me ages to convince her to see that film at all. You wouldn't have believed how much she hated the entire premise of a waitress failing in love with a married doctor—she hated the entire film, too."

Elena laughed again. She couldn't blame Noah's bad judgement. She even thought of her mother—albeit briefly—when she had seen the film with Massimo.
