Elena tried to forget everything that happened last night when she returned to the Ferraro estate the following afternoon. She was going to do what she always did when she felt sad or upse focus on work.
This proved to be impossible for one important reason. Aria was already
She was sat on Massimo’s desk like some kind of ornament. Her unbuttoned blouse and short skirt left little to the imagination–especially when she pressed herself into Massimo’s personal space.
“Is now a bad time?” Elena asked.
“No,” Massimo immediately replied. “Some servants are claiming they fell ill–could you verify if that’s true and treat them, if necessary?”
Massimo slid a folder of documents across his desk. It neatly avoided Aria’s legs–had he been carrying on like this all day?
Elena picked up the folder and leafed through the pages inside. She frowned, thinking.
Massimo raised an eyebrow. “Is there something you wanted to ask?”
“Well,” Elena said, hesitating. “I don’t think this is something you would want a civilian to hear.”
Elena meaningfully glanced at Aria. Her roommate just smiled.
“Oh, don’t mind me!” Aria said cheerily. “I’m just waiting for my love to finish up a few things before our lunch date. Pretend I’m not even here.”
Elena looked back at Massimo. His head was down as he signed his name on a few documents.
“Still,” Elena insisted, “don’t you not want your wife involved in mafia work, Don Massimo?”
“It’s fine,” Massimo muttered.
Elena couldn’t help but feel he was taking the path of least resistance–his whole posture didn’t exude his normal confidence. Did he actually want this?
But before Elena could protest, Aria flashed another bright smile. “See? Nothing to w
ut, El.”
Aria slid across the desk until she was right in front of Massimo. Judging by the bunching of her skirt and how she spread her legs slightly open, Aria had to be flashing her panties at Massimo.
Aria’s voice was seductive and low yet loud enough for Elena to still hear every word clearly. “No more secrets, right, my dear husband?”
Elena’s face burned red. She felt incredibly uncomfortable at Aria’s open, sexual display.
“I’ll get right on this, Don Massimo,” Elena hurriedly said. She ran out of the office.
Aria’s visits didn’t stop there. Every day, she found a new excuse to stop by–bringing lunch or coffee or sweet treats. When lunch and dinner dates weren’t convenient excuses, Aria would still be found–claiming she wanted to give Massimo a gift she found or that she was just stopping by on her way to work.
If Elena was at the estate, she knew Aria would be there soon. Always in some romantic or seductive outfit and constantly invading Massimo’s space with kisses and hugs and any kind of tender touches.
The worst part was Aria’s insistence that Massimo and Elena just continue working as normal. And while that

worked just fine for Massimo, it made Elena feel even more awkward. Every time she showed up, she felt like she was intruding on some intimate moment between the two lovers.
