Back at Silveridge Movie World.
Audrey tucked her phone away and glanced at Miles with a smile. "How did you know I was the screenwriter for this movie?"
Miles leaned against the doorframe, returning her smile. "If I told you I've been a massive fan of Quill for years and already knew your secret identity, would you think I was a stalker?"
Audrey laughed. "Not at all. Having a fan like you is quite the compliment. But..."
She raised an eyebrow. "Have you actually watched my shows, or are you just flattering me?"
"Of course I have," Miles said, his lips curving upward. "If you don't believe me, we should grab that coffee you owe me. I love every character you've ever written."
Audrey smiled. "It's a date, then. We'll get coffee and I'll interrogate you to see if you're a real fan or a fake one!"
"Deal." Miles smirked. "I'll hold you to it, Quill."
Still smiling, Audrey placed the bouquet of red roses in a prominent spot on the stage, then lifted the lanyard around her neck to show him her 'Production Assistant' badge.
"For today, I'm just a PA. Don't blow my cover."
Even though the high-society circles rarely paid attention to the entertainment industry, she was still legally married to Joaquin. To avoid any unnecessary drama, it was safer to keep her identity as a star screenwriter under wraps.
Miles understood immediately. "Don't worry. I used to be a mercenary; keeping secrets is what I do best. But if you're playing the PA, who's playing Quill?"
Audrey pointed toward the center of the venue, where Nora York was taking questions from the press alongside director Julian Chandler. "She is."
Nora was a fiercely dedicated actress. To prepare for her role as the caregiver, she had read the script so many times she practically had it memorized. Having her stand in for the interviews was the perfect solution.
