The Moment I Realized I Can't Lose You novel Chapter 73

The hand hovering over the mouse paused. Wyatt turned around, gave her a long, hard look, and reached up to pull off his mask. "I thought, considering how intensely we were locking eyes earlier, you'd at least recognize me. I didn't realize you were so ruthless that the second you stepped off the stage, you'd forget all about me."

The moment his face was fully exposed, Audrey's eyes went wide. It felt like she'd been struck by lightning. "It's you!?"

The elegant, impeccably dressed doctor standing before her in a white coat... was the exact same male stripper from the club stage who had nearly kissed her earlier that night!

"It's me." He took off his dark glasses and grabbed a makeup wipe to clean off the remaining eyeliner he hadn't fully washed away. "Right after you guys left, I got a frantic call from my mentor telling me to rush over and do an urgent workup for a VIP patient. I barely had time to wipe my face before I ran over here. I certainly wasn't expecting the VIP patient to be you."

A teasing smirk pulled at his lips. "What? Surprised?"

Audrey nodded earnestly. "Very."

If she hadn't seen it with her own two eyes, she never would have believed that this composed, highly educated doctor spent his off-hours giving lap dances at a nightclub.

"Medicine pays the bills; the club feeds the soul." He jotted his name down on a piece of paper. "I'm Wyatt Westbrook. I've been moonlighting at that club for about a year now. The next time you need to blow off some steam, you know where to find me."

Audrey quickly waved her hands in refusal. "I don't think I'll be going back."

One wild experience like that was more than enough.
