The Moment I Realized I Can't Lose You novel Chapter 95

Joaquin, Rainey, and her parents all looked absolutely livid.

After a heavy pause, someone in the crowd let out a soft snort of laughter. "Honestly, her sarcasm is kind of charming."

That single comment broke the dam, and a few more people began to chuckle. Everyone attending the party was well aware of the messy triangle between Rainey and Joaquin. But because Joaquin and the Sinclair family held so much power, no one dared to openly judge what looked like blatant infidelity. They were all just here to suck up to Rainey and score points with Joaquin.

But hearing Audrey fearlessly tear the façade down in public felt incredibly satisfying. Unintentionally, the crowd found themselves holding a sliver of new respect and pity for her.

Hearing the muffled laughter, Rainey's face went rigid. Biting her lip, she reluctantly pulled herself out of Joaquin's arms, her eyes red, her face the very picture of absolute victimization.

Joaquin shot a dark, severe glare at Audrey. "You don't need to throw veiled insults around about our relationship. I have nothing to hide. If I truly wanted to be with her, you wouldn't still be sitting in the position of Mrs. Judd today. She's unwell and hyperventilating from crying. I was just helping her. Stop projecting your own filthy thoughts!"

Audrey let out a cold laugh. "My filthy thoughts? Joaquin, you actually have the nerve to call me Mrs. Judd? If you genuinely considered me your wife, shouldn't we have arrived at this party together? Why was I summoned here at the absolute last minute, completely unprepared, while you got dressed up to attend on her arm?"

Joaquin's eyes flickered, a sudden, cold flash of panic hitting his chest.
