The packs outcast Luna (Kaia and Theo) novel Chapter 54

Chapter 54

–Theo–

I looked at Kaia, who stood, shocked, in the corner.

:.

I wanted to go to her. Tell her everything I had in my heart.

But I couldn’t leave until everything was settled.

The hall was still buzzing when Elder Sylvester raised a hand for silence.

“There remains,” he said, “one solution to satisfy the original agreement without breaking the laws of the Moon.”

You could hear a pin drop.

“Elara,” Sylvester continued, “you will marry Lucien-the unmated son of Alpha Kingsley.”

The crowd gasped.

Lucien choked on his drink somewhere behind me.

Elara’s eyes nearly fell out of her skull.

“WHAT?! No…NO!” She stomped forward, furious. “I will NOT marry him! He’s….he’s not Theo! This is insane

Sylvester did not even blink. He looked unbothered by Elara’s tantrums.

“The promise was that a daughter of Alpha Garrick Varkon would unite with a son of Alpha Kingsley. Not specifically which son. And since Theo has found his destined mate, that option is closed.”

“I REFUSE!” Elara screamed. “I am NOT marrying Lucien!”

Lucien muttered loudly,

“Trust me, princess, the feeling is mutual.”

I almost snorted.

Elara spun on the Circle.

“You can’t force me! My father won’t accept this…. He will go to war before letting me-‘

“ELARA!”

A deep, commanding voice booms;

Alpha Garrick Varkon, Elara’s father, steps into the hall, his presence swallowing the room.

Chapter 54

:

Massive, scarred, impossibly powerful. His Beta and a few warriors trail behind him.

Everyone turned to look as Alpha Garrick, her father, stepped inside.

He looked furious, not at us but at her.

Elara blinked.

“Father… Thank the moon goddess. Tell them this is-”

“Be silent.” His voice cracked like lightning.

Elara froze. Shocked by her father’s action.

Alpha Garrick approached the centre of the hall, bowing respectfully to the Circle before turning to face her.

“I have heard enough,” he said. “You will not shame me further.”

Elara’s mouth fell open.

“Wh-what do you mean? They’re saying I should-”

“Marry Lucien,” he finished for her. “Yes. And you will.”

Her knees almost buckled.

“No! Father, you promised me…..”

“I promised you nothing.” He stepped closer, eyes like stone. “What Alpha Kingsley promised me was that my daughter would unite with a son of Alpha Kingsley. That was the bargain. That was the alliance.”

He looked at me then, calm and steady.

“And Alpha Kingsley kept his end. He raised two sons. One of them is unmated. The bargain stands intact.”

Elara shook her head wildly. “No! No, I left back then because Theo was weak, because…”

“Yes,” her father cut in sharply. “It was you who You 1. Not Theo or Kingsley. You.”

The entire room held its breath.

Alpha Garrick continued, voice low with warning;

“You broke the arrangement, not them. You forfeited your claim the day you walked away.”

Elara’s jaw trembled.

Her father’s tone softened, not out of kindness, but finality.

“I will not go to war over your pride. Not when the Moon has already made her choice for Alpha Theo.”

Chapter 54

:

He gestured to me. “He has found his mate. That path is closed.”

Elara stared at him, feeling betrayed.

“But… Father-”

“It is done.” His voice was absolute. “You will accept the Circle’s ruling. You will marry Lucien.”

Elara whispered, “Why dont you kill me instead?”

Alpha Garrin ignored it.

“Elara,” he added coolly, “you should be grateful Alpha Kingsley still honours the alliance at all.”

Elara’s eyes filled with tears. Devastated and furious tears.

“This isn’t fair,” she whispered.

Her father’s reply was ice. “Life is not fair. And you do not get to burn down kingdoms because a man you abandoned found someone better.”

Silence.

Complete, utter silence.

I saw Elara still trembling with fury.

She clenched her fists so tight that blood was almost seeping out of her knuckles.

She looked like she was about to pass out when she realised her father wasn’t joking.

Alpha Garrick wasn’t a man who wore guilt or regret.

So the look on his face made Elara freeze.

“Father?” she whispered, catching her breath. “You’re siding with them?”

His jaw tensed. “Lower your voice, Elara.”

“I WILL NOT!” she exploded. “They humiliated me! They are forcing Lucien on me! They stole-”

Garrick’s hand flew up, silencing her instantly with just the weight of his stare.

“Elara,” he said quietly. “You will accept the Circle’s ruling.”

Her mouth fell open.

“Accept…?” Her voice cracked. “You want me to marry Lucien?”

Garrico exhaled slowly, soothing his temple.

“Elara, I warned you when you left Theo the first time,” he said. “A broken alliance has consequences. The Circle does not tolerate wavering bonds between high-ranking packs.”

Her chest tightened. “I thought you’d fight for me.”

“I did fight for you.”

The hall fell still, staring at both father and daughter.

Garrick’s voice hardened, cold and clipped, admitting something he never meant to reveal.

“What do you think? That I will never find out who went behind my back to convince the Circle to intervene in the first place?”

Elara blinked. “What…?”

“Yes!” he growled. “It came from you, Elara. You went behind my back, using my name to convince the circle that Theo was delaying the promise.” Alpha Garrick seethes. “You lied that the alliance was at risk, and you were being wronged.”

Her mother gasped. “Garrick-”

He cut her off with a look.

Elara’s legs nearly gave out.

“Father….” Elara tried to speak.

Garrin nodded once.

“Dont try to stop me, Elara,” Garrick warned. “You went behind my back”

Alpha Garrick turned to us, then to the crowd.

“Elara will accept the Circle’s ruling. After all, she’s the one who went behind my back and dragged them into this mess”

“Elara, what did you do?” Susan, Elara’s mother, asked.

But Elara didn’t answer. Her lips trembled.

Alpha Garrick continued, his voice thick with embarrassment.

“She manipulated the circle into forcing Theo to choose her as Luna”, Alpha Garrick gritted, seething. “She forged letters and acted without my permission”

“So, there is no question. She will accept the circle rulings”

Elara staggered back. “No. No, I refuse….”

“Elara… you did what?”

“Yes, you will,” Garrick said, his Alpha aura seeping into his voice. “Because I will not drag our pack into war over something you caused.”

Her voice trembled with rage and disbelief.

“So that’s it?” she hissed. “I’m just supposed to accept being handed to Lucien like I’m leftovers?”

Garrick stared at her for a long, heavy moment.

“Yes.”

Elara’s breath shattered.

Her father turned away. “You will marry Lucien and will salvage what dignity you have left.”

She clenched her fists so hard that her fingers dug into her palms.

Elara’s rage turned into shaking sobs as she stumbled back, glaring at me and Kaia like we had destroyed her life.

“This isn’t over,” she rasped.

“Yes. It is.” Alpha Garrick snapped.

Elara stiffens, her rage faltering.

“F-Father-”

He doesn’t look at her.

His cold eyes went straight to me…then to Kingsley.

And then, shockingly, he bowed his head.

“Alpha Theo. Alpha Kingsley. I owe you both an apology.”

A murmur rippled through the hall.

Elara’s jaw dropped. “Father, what are you-?”

He ignored her again.

Garrick straightened his face. He looked tired and disappointed.

“My daughter has forgotten her place and the terms of the agreement.”

My brows lifted a little. My father exhaled shakily.

Alpha Garrick turned to the Circle.

“I heard she attempted to force a marriage… by invoking my name. Without my consent and respect.”

“Silence. One more word and I will have you locked up for a week”

Elara shrank back. Alpha Garrick’s words cracked through her like a whip.

Garrick returned his attention to me, his expression unexpectedly gentle.

“You were a boy when the promise was made. If anyone should answer for it, it is your father and I-not you.”

My father nodded, guilt rolling off his face.

Garrick continued. “And Kingsley kept his side of the bargain. His son accepted the arrangement. It was my daughter who walked away. My daughter chose power over her bond.”

I swallowed hard, memories of that heartbreak flickering over my face.

Alpha Garrick turned to Elara.

“You left Theo for another Alpha, humiliated him”, Garrick said. “You broke the arrangement with your own hands. And now you want to claim it back because it suits you?”

Elara trembled with fury. “He was weak! And now…now he thinks he can just…”

Garrick’s voice dropped dangerously quiet.

“I raised a warrior. Not a spoiled child who cries when her manipulation fails.”

Alpha Garrick walked to the Circle of Akphas and faced Sylvester completely.

“My pack will not be fighting over this. We have no grounds,” Garrick said, looking towards me. “We have no claim. Kingsley’s son has found his mate. That is the end of it.”

The Circle nodded in approval.

Garrick stepped closer to me.

“Alpha Theo… you have my deepest apology for Elara’s behaviour today, and for the pain she caused you in the past.”

My throat tightened with a painful lump.

Garrick bowed again. “I will correct my daughter’s mistakes. And I accept the Circle’s decision; Elara will marry Lucien.”

Elara erupts. “No! I will NOT marry him….Father!”

“You will. And you will do it with your head high because you destroyed your first betrothal, Elara. No one else.” Garrick glared at her with authority.

Elara trembled, but she couldn’t do anything; instead, she was cornered and defeated.

Chapter 54

Garrick looked back at me one last time.

“You owe us nothing. May your mate bring you the joy my daughter failed to give.”

“Thank you, Alpha Garrick”, I smiled.

Once Alpha Garrick turned away, my eyes found Kaia, who looked stunned by everything.

Looking at her, my stomach did a flip.

She’s everything I’ve always dreamed about. I hope she doesn’t mind me loving her.
