Chapter 99
…
Early in the morning, I got ready to leave Silvermoon.
Draven and Liora were walking me to the car.

“It’s such a shame that we didn’t get to give you a proper goodbye” Liora said, standing by Draven while her hand guided her pregnant belly.
Looking at her baby bump, a thought crossed my mind and I quickly pulled myself back.
I imagined Kaia pregnant with my child. I’m definitely going insane.
“Luna, there is still plenty of time for you to do that,” I said, buttering her up. “Besides, I’m not over the awesome welcome you gave me. You outdid yourself, I appreciate it”
“Oh, that? That was nothing, the next time you come around, I will welcome you properly” Liora said, gleefully.
“I will look forward to that, Luna” I muttered, kissing her hand.
“Baby, you should hear inside. It’s time for your medicine” Draven urged her, looking at his watch. “I will see the alpha off”
“Alright baby,” Liora tiptoed and kissed his lips, and Draven kissed her right back. “Come back soon, baby and I will be waiting for you”
“I won’t keep you waiting for long, I promise” Draven said, pinching her nose and she smiled.
They looked like a happy couple, anyone watching would think they were fated. And the mate bond was helping their love grow stronger but that wasn’t the case.
After betraying Kaia and getting her expelled from her home, these two are playing happy family.
Disgusting. Disgusting pieces of shit.
I clenched my hands by my side, trying to stop myself from beating this piece of shit, Draven to a pulp.
“Shall we, Alpha Theo?” Draven turned to me after watching Liora return to her room.
“Sure, let’s go” I replied, flashing a smile.
My men had already gone ahead to wait for me in the car, it was just Draven and me.
We were about to get close to the car when Draven stopped, pulling my attention.
“Theo,” he cleared his throat. “After you left the academy, I discovered your little secret” he glanced at my face, and I frowned, confused.
“Secret?,” I asked, still frowning. “What are you talking about?”

“I know you liked Kaia back then,” Draven said, acting as if he had discovered something grand. “You didn’t tell me but I found out on my own”
“There was no reason for me to tell you about that,” I looked away, stating. “Besides, you and Kaia were together, it was best I stayed away and didn’t ruin what you two had”
“I wish you had ruined it,” Draven snapped, his eyes flashing with hatred, which I believe was meant for Kaia. “If you had, I wouldn’t have to face a bigger betrayal later. That bitch Kaia was deserving of any of us”
This asshole had the nerve to call Kaia a bitch, I will make him regret this.
“But, I’m glad you didn’t confess your feelings to her. At least one of us was saved from her evil clutches. She didn’t get to betray you, and ruin your life, I’m grateful for that” Draven hammered, staring at me with gladness.
“Why are you telling me this now?” I asked, and I saw the smile wipe off Draven’s face.
“Because, I don’t want you to feel bad for how things ended between Kaia and me. It was all her doing” Draven firmly insisted, and I wanted to laugh so badly.
“How so?,” I looked intrigued, asking. “How did she ruin things between you two?”
“She tried to kill Liora and our unborn baby,” Draven muttered. “She knew how much I wanted this child, he’s going to be the Alpha heir yet she sent rogues to ambush and kill Liora”
“You got Liora pregnant and still stayed with her?” I asked, and Draven looked shaken. “Is this the truth?”
“No, it’s not like that, trust me, Theo,” Draven said, catching his breath. “A lot happened in a short span of time, and I couldn’t take control of everything that happened at once. Things just happened, and I believe it was for the best”
I shook my head, looking at the manipulative man in front of me. I can’t believe, I was once friends with this
guy.
He’s a monster in a white outfit.
“But trust me, whatever happened between Kaia and me was because of her doing.” Draven insisted. “I did what was best for the pack, and you would do the same if you were in the same situation”
“If Kaia hadn’t tried to kill Liora and our baby, she would still be living in this pack -”
“As what?,” I asked, cutting him off. Draven couldn’t answer. “As your mistress or your fated mate, whom you didn’t trust? You wanted her to give up her position as Luna for Liora? How did you think that was okay?”
“Because Liora is carrying my Alpha heir while Kaia couldn’t conceive after being mated for years. What else could I have done? I had to assure the pack elders that the pack will be secured after me”
I chuckled at his silly excuses, I couldn’t believe the trash he was vomiting from his mouth.
“Can you hear yourself,” I asked. “Can you imagine how jealous your ass would be hearing the shit coming out of your mouth?”

“What do you mean?” Draven asked, looking genuinely confused.
“Never mind,” I moved past him.

“Are you taking her side?” he asked, walking after me. “I’m your friend, you and Kaia meant nothing to each other. Besides, she was the one who tried to have Liora killed…”
“Do you have proof of this?” I stopped abruptly, cutting him off. He stopped in his tracks glaring at me.
“Of course, everything was revealed during the trial. Kaia had conspired with some rogue to have Liora killed before she had the chance to birth the alpha heir”
I chuckled, shaking my head at his stupidity.
“Did
you investigate this or did you take everything the rogues said at face value because you were too eager to get rid of Kaia?” I asked, and I saw the colour drain from Draven’s face immediately.
His lips quivered. “They-they had her Luna crest, that’s evidence enough to persecute her for treason and so I did”
“Well, good for you,” I muttered, getting into the car. “You’ve always been an idiot, glad you proved me right?”
Draven stood there looking at me, shocked. He couldn’t say anything and I wasn’t expecting him to.
“Goodbye, Alpha Draven, I will keep in touch. Keep me posted about the development” I said, and closed the car door.
“I will keep you posted, Alpha”
The car started and we drove out of the mansion. In no time, the journey back to Shadowclaw began.
With how eager I was to get back to Kaia, I regretted not buying a private jet last time we hit it big.
But I made a mental note, it’s on my bucket list now, and I will get one soon.
If Kaia were visiting Silvermoon sometime later, I wouldn’t want her riding in a car for hours.
My queen deserves a premium life, and I would provide it for her.
The world would be hers if she asked for it, but I know she wouldn’t ask for anything. Thus, I will do it on my
terms.
“Alpha,” one of my men, Gamma Ronan, called out to me. “Silvermoon seem to hold a lot of secrets, our spies are already infiltrating the place. We will get good news soon”
“Thank you, Ronan,” I muttered. “I was so busy with the flood victims that I totally forgot about the investigation”
“It’s alright, that’s why I’m here with you not at the pack with Zane” Ronan said, and I nodded.
I turned to look out the window to clear my head. My mind was still raging about how stupid Draven sounded

earlier.
He tried his own Luna for treason without verifying the evidence. What kind of an alpha was he?
He wasn’t a good Alpha nor was he a good husband to Kaia.
A man like him shouldn’t be passing judgment on his pack members.
My hands clenched subconsciously, I was raging.

Before I could crush my knuckles, my phone was beeping, interrupting me out of my raging trance.
I looked at the screen and it was Zane, calling.
“You’re enjoying your vacation a little too much, aren’t you?” Zane asked, the minute I answered the call.
“Are you jealous you didn’t get to go on trips like Gamma Ronan and me?” I asked, trying to get on his nerves.
“You wish that was the case,” Zane replied. “My mate keeps me up every night, I can’t even think of going away from her for a day, just so you know”
“I knew you would cope using that excuse, I know what you truly want to say” I said, and Zane surrendered. He didn’t want to continue arguing.
“I didn’t call you to get teased, Theo,” Zane grumbled. “When do you plan on coming back”
“Sooner than you think,” I joked.
“I suggest you get back here as soon as possible,” Zane urged and I frowned.
“What happened?” I asked, my face turning serious. “Don’t lie to me”
“I promise, I wouldn’t say anything but I can’t keep this a secret from you” Zane breathed nervously. “Kaia collapsed.”
“What? How did that happen?” I was shocked, and I felt my heart beating fast. “How is she doing? Was she badly hurt?”
“Calm down, Theo” Zane said, and I felt like smacking his ass. “Nothing happened, she was probably collapsed from stress. She’s fine now”
“When did this happen??” I asked.
“Two days ago”
“And you think this is the right time to tell me? She’s my wife, why would you hide this from me?”
“Kaia didn’t want you to know, she was afraid you’d react like this; I guess she was right after all. Come home soon, and don’t tell her I told you anything, she would be furious with me”
“Look after Kaia for me,” I instructed. “Don’t leave her alone for any reason, tell Justine to stay with her at all

times”
:
“Justine and Maliya are taking turns staying with her, she’s fine, don’t worry”
I sighed, finally able to breathe after hearing that.
“See you soon,” Zane said and ended the call. I had nothing more to say.

“Kaia, I’m coming home to you, please be safe for me. I can’t survive another day without you” I muttered under my breath, trying to keep myself safe.
When I raised my head, it suddenly felt like the journey was taking forever to get to Shadowclaw.
I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down. I wouldn’t want Kaia noticing how tense I was, she would realise someone snitched.
Gamma Ronan assuringly uttered. “We are almost there, Alpha, don’t worry”
I nodded, but my mind was far away, probably in Shadowclaw with Kaia.
