Chapter 100
Chapter 100
Kinswood
The Reese Manor was ablaze with lights.
For Catherine Reese, Mrs. Reese to most, her ninetieth birthday banquet had stretched from noon into the night. The place was packed with guests, tables overflowing with sumptuous delicacies, and the whole mansion shimmered with dazzling lights and lively chatter.
“Mr. and Mrs. Reese, you two are truly blessed! With Ms. Reese as a legendary healer, your family’s name shines brighter
than ever!”
At the main table, every guest was buzzing about Daisy, the Nameless Healer herself.
The Reese couple had always been modest, but after seeing the news that Daisy was the Nameless Healer everyone in Kinswood was chasing after, they couldn’t help but feel both shocked and proud.
The Reese family had been a renowned medical clan for over a hundred years. Back in the turbulent days, their ancestors were hailed as healing legends, saving lives when hope was scarce.
But when new medicine swept through the country, traditional medicine fell out of favor. Influenced by new ideas, the Reese family had their kids study new medicine instead, and since then, no one in the family had reached that legendary status again.
Now that Daisy had become the Nameless Healer of her generation, it was truly bringing honor to the Reese family name. The old couple couldn’t stop smiling all day long.
Daisy smiled warmly and said, “You’re all too kind. I’m just doing what any healer should do. The Nameless Healer, well, that’s just what everyone calls me.”
Her warmth, humility, and grace charmed all the ladies from the elite families, and every one of them secretly hoped she’d end up marrying their sons.
“Ms. Reese, you actually managed to get the Obsidian Pearl from the Scepter House’s Master! That’s amazing! Would you mind showing it to everyone?”
A society matron spoke up, and soon the whole table was chiming in.
“I always thought the Obsidian Pearl was just a myth, but you really found it! Ms. Reese, would you let us see it?”
“Let us bask in your good luck!”
“Let us all have a look!”
As more and more people chimed in, Daisy started to feel uneasy. Her smile turned a bit sheepish, and inside, she was getting more and more nervous.
“Daisy, why don’t you grant everyone’s wish and show it to us?” Even Catherine was getting curious thanks to all the hype.
Even she had never held the Obsidian Pearl in person. At the auction, she’d been too far away to get a good look, she only got to see it on the big screen.
Just the look of it, the shine and the texture, made her itch to get her hands on it and give it a good once-over.
“Grandma, I’m really sorry. I was in such a hurry coming back that I forgot to bring it,” Daisy said apologetically.
“Well, next time, remember to bring it along so your grandpa can have a look too,” Catherine said, giving her hand a gentle

“Alright,” Daisy nodded, feeling a little guilty inside.
The guests, though a bit disappointed, just couldn’t get enough of talking about the Obsidian Pearl, making Daisy feel event
more nervous inside.
Just then, Daisy’s phone rang, it was Lauren calling.
At last, she had the perfect excuse to step away and answer the call.
In one corner of the banquet, Percival noticed Daisy leaving. He said a quick goodbye to the people around him and quietly stepped out as well.
He found her gently swaying on a swing tucked away in a quiet part of the garden. Watching her back, a swirl of complicated feelings he couldn’t name welled up inside him.
Daisy was the princess of the Reese family’s main branch, while Percival belonged to the lesser branch of the family. Even though they were cousins, they lived in totally different worlds, even within the same family.
Daisy was always the one everyone adored, placed high on a pedestal, while Percival was just the kid from the lesser branch, never really part of the inner circle. When they were little, the main family had strictly forbidden him from getting close to Daisy.
Ever since then, he’d always looked up to Daisy with a kind of distant respect, and maybe a little fear.
But he never thought the person he’d always looked up to was actually her, the Nameless Healer.
“Nameless Healer,” Percival called out, his voice a little hesitant.
Daisy hung up and turned around, blinking in surprise when she saw Percival there.
“Percival, you came out too? Want to sit?” she said, scooting over to make room for him.
She shifted to the side, making space for him to sit.
“Thanks,” Percival said, coming over but staying on his feet. “You haven’t logged into the Heaven Medical Network in ages, have you?”
Daisy’s heart did a little flip. She glanced at Percival, thinking, ‘Wait, he’s got an account on Heaven Medical Network too? Since when?’
She had her own account, and every so often she’d sneak a peek at the latest papers, always hoping to catch a new post or update from the Nameless Healer.
But it’d been half a year since anyone had seen the Nameless Healer online.
“Yeah, I’ve just been super busy lately,” she said, trying to sound casual.
A hint of doubt flickered in Percival’s eyes as he looked at her.
“Did you find the ginseng?” he asked, sounding cautious.
“Ginseng?” Daisy paused, then nodded with a smile. “Found it.”
Percival caught that brief look of confusion in her eyes, and his expression turned more serious.
Earlier that evening, the Nameless Healer had suddenly logged in and asked if he had any century-old ginseng on hand. After he said no, there was no further reply.

“What’s wrong? Daisy asked, noticing his shift in expression. She felt a twinge of unease in her chest.
Wait, does Percival actually know the Nameless Healer? Daisy thought, a sudden suspicion popping into her head
“Nothing, just glad you found it, Percival replied, his smile awkward, barely convincing.
“Thanks. It’s freezing out here, so I’m heading back inside,” Daisy said, her gaze flickering as she grabbed any excuse to leave in a hurry
Percival stayed where he was, watching her walk away, his eyes dark, lost in thought.
Is she really the Nameless Healer?’ Percival wondered, doubt swirling in his mind.
The next day.
Hannah rushed in just as the bell rang and had barely settled into her seat when Megan came in, her face serious, with a few uniformed police officers trailing behind.
The whole class erupted in an uproar.
“Which one of you is Hannah Carter? Step forward and come with us,” the lead officer said sharply.
All eyes in the classroom immediately turned to Hannah, sitting in the last row.
She rose with perfect composure, walked to the front, and asked in a calm, indifferent tone, “What’s the matter?”
“You’re under suspicion for assault. Please come with us for questioning,” the officer replied.
Hannah furrowed her brows slightly.
After the lead officer flashed the detention order, the cops behind him wasted no time slapping the cuffs on Hannah and escorting her out of the classroom.

At the police station, in the deputy chief’s office.
Gemma, decked out in all her jewelry, lounged on the sofa while Deputy Chief Victor Davis fussed over her, pouring her coffee with exaggerated deference.
“Mrs. Baker, rest assured. I’ll personally handle this case. With Mr. Baker’s injuries, a sentence of three to ten years is more than reasonable,” Ryan said, his tone full of assurance.
Gemma glanced at her freshly manicured nails, frowning. “Can’t we make it longer? I want her locked up for life!”
“That’s a bit tough,” Victor admitted, looking uncomfortable. “But ten years in prison is no walk in the park.”
“Alright,” Gemma said, her voice tinged with reluctant authority. She pulled out a bank card from her purse and, keeping it close to the table, slid it discreetly toward Victor.
“Victor, this is your job now,” she ordered, her tone cold and commanding.
‘If anyone dares mess with my son, I’ll make sure they beg for death but never get it,’ Gemma thought, her eyes glinting with icy malice.
Victor glanced at the bank card, a greedy grin creeping across his face, though he didn’t snatch it up just yet.
“Mrs. Baker, you’re generous. Ten years behind bars is easy enough, but just to be safe, are you sure she and the Scott family don’t have any real influence?” he asked, sounding cautious.

Gemma let out a cold laugh. “Relax. The Scott family’s already bankrupt, drowning in debt, they can barely keep themselves afloat. Arthur Scott might have a few tricks up his sleeve and some connections, but they’re just small fry. They won’t make a difference.”
“As for Hannah, she’s just a country bumpkin. Without the Scott family, she’s no better than a vagrant on the street, Gemma added, her voice dripping with contempt.
