The Real Heiress Is Coming Back (Hannah Carter) novel Chapter 101

Chapter 101

Chapter 101

Hearing that, Victor finally let out a sigh of relief and took the card with a satisfied grin.

Just then, there was a knock at the door. A police officer stepped in and said, “Deputy Chief Victor, we’ve got the suspect in interrogation room three.”

“Alright,” Victor nodded and got to his feet.

Interrogation Room 3.

‘Me? Intentional Injury?’ Hannah wondered, her mind racing. Victor and Gemma came in, with a young cop trailing behind. notebook in hand, ready to jot everything down.

“Do you know what you did wrong?” Victor asked, his face stern as he sat down across from Hannah.

Most people would get scared stiff and spill their guts the moment they saw that look.

But Hannah just stayed cool, her full lips barely moving as she replied, “I’d like to hear the details.”

Gemma was seriously annoyed. ‘Where does she get the nerve to act so calm? She’s just some country girl. What right does she have to be this chill?’

Victor was taken aback too. He hadn’t expected this young girl to sit in a police station and look so unfazed, not the slightest bit nervous.

Victor slammed his hand down on the table with a loud bang.

“You’re still not showing any remorse? Have you called the Scott family?” he demanded.

“Already did, they should be here any minute now,” the young cop replied.

Just then, there was a knock at the door. The young cop hurried over and opened it, and Arthur Scott strode in.

His gaze grew cold when he saw Gemma, then he glanced at Hannah in handcuffs and frowned slightly.

“Officer, I’m her brother, Arthur Scott. What’s going on here?” Arthur asked.

At the sound of his voice, Hannah turned to look at Arthur.

Thinking she might be scared, Arthur shot her a comforting glance. “Don’t be afraid, Hannah. I’ve got your back.”

Hannah really had nothing to say.

It wasn’t fear she felt, but his words warmed her heart.

Gemma was caught off guard. It was Arthur who walked in, not Dorian like she’d expected.

The Scott family had already gone bankrupt, but because Arthur was around, none of them ended up homeless on the streets like Gemma had secretly wished.

“Tell him what his sister did,” Victor said, knocking firmly on the table for emphasis.

young cop got the signal and started explaining,

“Yesterday afternoon after school, Hannah Carter assaulted Jasper Baker in the hallway by the mailroom at Cavalor School. She rendered him unable to speak and threatened him, forcing him to carry packages. As a result, his right index and middle fingers were fractured.”

As he spoke, he laid out photos of Jasper’s fingers in casts and the doctor’s report on the table.

“Aty son is still lying in the hospital, and he hasn’t regained his voice yet. Don’t even think about settling this quietly!” Gemma said angrily, crossing her arms.

Gemma stood with her arms crossed, her whole vibe screaming confrontation.

“This is a serious case of Intentional Injury. She is liable for this! Don’t even think about settling it privately. We’re taking this through standard law procedure, Victor said, tapping the photos for emphasis.

The three of them ganged up on Hannah, firing off accusations one after another, determined to see her go down for this.

“Hannah, is what they’re saying really true?” Arthur didn’t even bother looking at the evidence. He just asked her directly. trusting her word above all.

He knew Hannah wasn’t the type to just lash out or hurt someone without reason.

That kind of trust really warmed Hannal’s heart.

‘But if Arthur ever found out that Jasper really couldn’t speak because of me, would he be let down?’ Hannah wondered, a hint of guilt flickering in her heart.

She glanced at Gemma, her lips barely moving as she said, “Your son broke his fingers. So what does that have to do with me? I’m not your insurance agent.”

“Stop trying to dodge the issue! If it weren’t for you…” Gemma snapped, her voice cutting through the room.

Victor raised a hand to cut Gemma off. He’d just picked up on something crucial.

“So you’re not denying it? You’re the reason Jasper can’t talk!” Victor demanded, pressing her for an answer.

“Do you have any proof?” Hannah said, her eyes calm and never wavering as she met Victor’s gaze.

“The victim’s testimony is all the evidence we need! Not denying it? That’s basically an admission. Let the court handle you. This case is closed!” Victor slammed his hand on the table and stood up. “Take her away. She’ll await the verdict.”

Victor didn’t bother looking back as he strode out of the room.

Gemma leaned forward, hands planted on the table as she stood up. She shot Hannah a cold glare and scoffed, “You’re still too young to go up against me. Hope you enjoy rotting in jail. Maybe you’ll finally learn some remorse.”

With that, Gemma turned and walked out, not even bothering to look back.

‘So this is what it means to throw your weight around. Nothing special,’ Hannah thought, her gaze icy and unyielding.

Arthur clenched his fists, anger simmering beneath the surface. ‘If only I were stronger, Hannah wouldn’t have to suffer like this, he thought, resentment gnawing at him.

“Hannah, why didn’t you just deny it?” Arthur asked, his voice tight with worry.

‘She just gave them leverage for free, Arthur thought, frustration burning in his chest.

“Would it even matter if I denied it?” Hannah replied, her tone steady and unbothered.

Clearly, the deputy chief was making a show of force over something so trivial. They’d already decided she was guilty, no matter what.

“That’s what real power looks like,’ Hannah thought, her eyes cold.

Arthur’s fists tightened even more, but he kept his voice soft, trying his best to comfort her

“Don’t worry, Hannah. I know a few people at the station. They are my old classmates. I’ll talk to them and make sure your name gets cleared,” he said, determination burning in his eyes

Hannah flashed him a gentle smile. “Thanks, Arthur. I’m really not scared”

Her words fired Arthur up. No way am I letting Hannah go to jail and get a stain on her record! he swore to himself, his resolve stronger than ever.

Meanwhile, at Skycrest House.

Barnaby was sprawled out on the couch, casually playing chess on his tablet. His little pet pig was curled up right next to him, snoring away without a care in the world.

It was rare for the two of them to be this chill together, just pure harmony and peace.

But that peaceful vibe didn’t last. Ronin Vale broke the silence.

“Barnaby, just got word. Hannah’s been picked up by the police, and she still hasn’t come out,” Ronin said after ending the

call.

Barnaby’s hand paused over the chessboard, his gaze turning razor-sharp.

‘I literally just dropped her off at school, and now she’s already been hauled in by the cops?’ Barnaby thought, his jaw clenched.

“Mrs. Baker called the police and had Hannah taken in. She’s accusing her of assaulting Jasper and wants her prosecuted,” Ronin continued.

He finished the call and asked, “Boss, what’s our move?”

Given Barnaby’s current circumstances, it wouldn’t be wise for him to go to the station in person.

Barnaby set his tablet aside, grabbed his phone, and dialed a number.

The call connected almost instantly, and Tristan’s lazy drawl came through. “Yo, Barnaby, what’s up?”

“Tristan, I’ve got a job for you,” Barnaby said, his tone cool and commanding.

“What kind of job? You want me to help you win over your girl?” Tristan teased, a smirk in his voice.

“Take some guys and head to Brynlock Police Station. Get my girl out of there. Now,” Barnaby ordered, his voice cold as ice.

“Shit, who’s the idiot messing with your woman? I’m heading over right now!” Tristan snapped, all fired up.

Meanwhile, at the station.

Victor walked out of the interrogation room, exchanged a quick word with Gemma, and made his way back to his office.

He called a cop into his office, leaned back in his chair with his feet propped up on the desk, and pointed at Hannah’s case file.

“Prioritize this case. I want it wrapped up before the chief gets back!” Victor ordered, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Just then, the office door swung open, and Chief Ryan Patrick appeared in the doorway, his presence instantly commanding

the room.

“Bang.”

Victor jolted and lost his balance, crashing right off his chair.

“C-Chief Patrick, how do you get back?” Victor stammered, scrambling to his feet.

“If I hadn’t come back, you’d be turning this place upside down, huh?” Ryan barked, his tone full of authority and irritation.

He stepped aside and gestured respectfully for the man behind him to enter. “Mr. Pierce, please.”

Victor turned to look and saw a guy in a sharp, tailored red suit stride in, looking every bit the big shot.

“Mr. Pierce!” Victor stammered, his voice shaking with awe.
