“You really think this is enough to take me down?” Gemma glared at her, eyes burning with hatred.

When Hannah stepped outside, she realized Tristan and Andrew had already left without her noticing. She tried to call Arthur, but her phone was dead. So, she just grabbed a cab and headed straight back to the Scott Villa.

She hopped out of the cab in the yard and ran right into Lucian, who had just got back from school.

“Did you seriously break out of jail?” Lucian blurted, eyes wide in disbelief.

He scanned the area like a spy on the run, grabbed Hannah by the arm, and hustled her inside before anyone could see.

“Couldn’t you just wait a bit? I was already talking to lawyers and calling in favors to get you out,” he muttered, still glancing around for a good hiding spot.

“Seriously, where can I hide you so the cops don’t bust in?” Lucian whispered, peeking around like he was planning a heist.

Hannah really had nothing to say.

She hurried over, pulling Hannah close and fussing over her, checking her from head to toe for any sign of injury

Hannah was wondless.

I’m fine. Arthur’s friends and the lawyer helped prove I was innocent,” she explained patiently.

Lucian was totally speechless.

He immediately dropped Hannah’s hand, his face flushing with embarrassment as the awkwardness hit him.

“Thank goodness you’re alright. You must be starving. Let me whip up some pork ribs for you,” Felicity said, finally relaxing.

“Arthur really is something else!” Aurelia beamed with pride, then gave Hannah a quick look-over. “Go take a shower and wash off all that bad luck. Cici, go stew that red soup I’ve been saving for her.”

She said the last part to Cici.

Felicity had been sure Aurelia was about to start scolding Hannah again, but to her surprise, Aurelia actually brought out her treasured red soup.

Hannah gave Aurelia a calm glance, then quietly headed upstairs to her room. She plugged in her phone and went to take a shower.

That evening at dinner.

Arthur and Dorian were already home, and for the first time, the whole family of six sat down together. Felicity and Cici had prepared a lavish feast, and Arthur even opened a bottle of 1982 Lafite that Dorian had been saving for years.

“To Hannah’s safe return. Cheers!” Arthur said, raising his glass.

“Cheers!”

Since Hannah and Lucian were underage, they toasted with juice instead.

For once, the dinner table was free of snark and sharp words, just lively chatter and genuine laughter as the whole family came together.

Hannah looked at the real smiles on everyone’s faces, and her heart was touched again, a gentle warmth spreading inside
