Chapter 115
“How did she end up on stage Jane blurted out, her eyes practically popping out in shock
She gawked at the girl standing next to Owen, looking like she’d just seen a ghost
Hannah’s long black hair cascaded naturally over her shoulders, her stunning face touched up with just enough makeup to soften her usual icy aura, making her look warm and absolutely mesmerizing
She wore Cavalor School’s deep blue winter uniform, the pleated skirt showing off her long, straight legs in sleek black boots Somehow, she made the plain school outfit look like high fashion on a catwalk..
Owen had also gone for a subtle touch of makeup, his short hair styled perfectly with wax. Dressed in his tailored dark blue uniform, he looked effortlessly cool and charming, like the sunshine itself.
Standing side by side on stage, they looked like the ultimate power couple, straight out of a fairy tale.
The audience erupted in applause, while the media crowded around the stage, cameras flashing nonstop.
Jane glared at the stage, fists clenched so hard her nails dug into her palms. ‘I definitely locked the dressing room from the outside! How is this even possible?!’
She jumped to her feet and, while everyone was distracted, sneaked backstage again.
When she reached the dressing room where Hannah had been, the lock was still hanging there. Jane stared in disbelief. ‘No way… The lock’s untouched. So how did Hannah get out?’ she wondered, her brain scrambling for answers.
“Just as I thought, you’re the one behind this,” a female voice suddenly called out from behind.
Jane jumped, spinning around to see Claudia standing right behind her, as if she’d materialized out of thin air.
Claudia had warned Hannah to watch out for Jane, and just like she expected, she’d caught Jane messing around again.
Jane felt a twinge of guilt, but quickly reminded herself that backstage was packed today, and she’d already made sure the hallway cameras were handled. ‘As long as I act normal, nobody’s going to catch on,’ she reassured herself.
She straightened her back, putting on an innocent look. “Claudia, what are you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to be out front watching the speech?”
“I was waiting for you,” Claudia said, pushing up her chunky black-rimmed glasses, her eyes sharp and locked onto Jane.
Jane squirmed under Claudia’s gaze, feeling like she was being completely seen through. “Is there something you want?” she asked, trying to sound casual.
“Ms. Flint is looking for you. She said you need to go see her right now,” Claudia replied, her voice cool and no-nonsense.
‘Thank god she didn’t mention the lock,’ Jane thought, feeling a wave of relief wash over her.
“Got it,” she replied, then quickly turned and slipped out of the backstage area.
Things hadn’t gone exactly as Jane had planned, and she was pissed.
Jane gritted her teeth. ‘Claudia must’ve let Hannah out. That’s the only way she made it to the ceremony on time.
But luckily, she’d already set up a backup plan.
Jane glanced at her phone. The National Informatics Olympiad was probably wrapping up right about now.

Chapter 115
She’d already made sure Hannah was signed up for the competition.
And now she was just waiting for the media Jasper brought in to report that Hannah had skipped it on purpose. Once the story breaks, the school will have no choice but to kick her out! Jane thought, a sly smirk tugging at her lips.
Just picturing Hannah getting booted from Cavalor School made jane exhale sharply, feeling a twisted sense of satisfaction.
She practically skipped into the office, feeling pretty pleased with herself as she went to find Yvonne.
“Ms. Flint, you wanted to see me?” Jane asked, putting on her sweetest voice.
Wonne’s face was stone cold as she looked at Jane. “Jane, what’s going on with you? If you weren’t even going to show up. why bother signing up for the competition?”
Jane blinked, looking genuinely confused. “What competition?”
Yvonne slammed the tablet down in front of her. “See for yourself!”
Jane suddenly had a bad feeling as she grabbed the tablet.
[Breaking News: Student from Class 1, at Cavalor School Skips the Informatics Olympiad!]
She scrolled down, and the name of the student who bailed on the contest popped up: Jane Dross…
Jane’s jaw dropped, her eyes nearly popping out of her head.
What the hell? Why is it me?!’ Jane screamed in her head, totally losing it.
She hadn’t even registered for the competition!
“Ms. Flint, this is just the media hyping things up! I never even signed up!” Jane blurted out, her voice shrill with panic.
“Hyping things up? This is the official absentee list from the organizing committee!” Yvonne snapped, swiping through the tablet.
Right below the article, the media had attached the full list of students who missed the contest, straight from the committee.
Even with the name partially censored as “Jane D*oss,” and the info about Class 1 at Cavalor School, everyone knew it was her.
Jane was completely blindsided.
‘How could this even happen?!’ she thought, her mind going totally blank.
She’d had one of the company’s hackers register Hannah for the contest and had double-checked everything herself. Hannah was the one who skipped out, so why wasn’t her name on the absentee list? Why was it Jane’s instead?
‘Where did I screw up?!’ Jane panicked, her thoughts in total chaos.
“If you weren’t even going to compete, why sign up at all?” Yvonne snapped, her voice cutting through the air. “This isn’t just humiliating for you. It drags down Cavalor’s reputation that’s been built over a hundred years!”
“Get your parents here. They need to be present when the school decides what to do with you!” Yvonne barked.
Jane felt like she’d just been struck by lightning, frozen in place.
Meanwhile, Hannah and Owen had just wrapped up their speech.
Chapter 115
She watched the cameras flashing nonstop, her brow furrowing as a sudden worry crept in.
If Barnaby sees all these photos of us together, is he going to start nagging again about how we never take pictures as a couple? And then demand we take one? Hannah thought feeling a bit exasperated.
After the opening ceremony, delegates from all the top schools had a meeting in the afternoon, and tomorrow was the big test for the elite prep class.
Later that day, the school posted the list of students who cleared the registration check and were set to take the rest
tomorrow.
Most of the names were Grade 12 students, and only two students from Grade 11 made the cut: Claudia and Hannah.
As soon as the list was posted, the school forum totally blew up.
[Anyone else curious how the Campus Queen managed to pass the prep class registration?]
[Her voice is top-tier, sure, but her grades are trash, right?]
[She’s been flunking every test for half the semester, and she can only talk in Thalvarin, can’t write a single word.]
[She definitely got in through the back door.]
[Owen the genius already cut ties with Jasper just for Hannah. Of course he’d pull some strings for her, nothing surprising about that.]
[Owen’s totally playing favorites here. Passing the registration means nothing. There’s no way Hannah’s skills will impress the delegation. They might as well just hand her a spot outright.]
[I love the Campus Queen’s looks, but can’t she just be a pretty face and stop making a fuss?]
[+1. The prep class test scores are for all the school delegations to see. Don’t embarrass us on the international stage.]
[To save the school from embarrassment, I say the admin should just kick Hannah out of the prep class exam.]
Zoe finished scrolling through the forum and turned to Hannah, looking all serious.
“Boss, if Megan Lindsay forced you to sign up for the prep class exam, just blink twice!” Zoe said, her tone exaggeratedly concerned.
Speechless, Hannah just stared at her.
“Hannah, you made it through the registration check!” Megan Lindsay called out, waddling over in a hurry, her baby bump leading the way.
She shot Hannah a serious look and reminded her, “Listen, for tomorrow’s exam, don’t you dare turn in a blank sheet again. At the very least, answer all the multiple-choice and true/false questions.
“Especially the multiple-choice ones. If you have no clue, just use this little cheat code:
‘If three answers are long and one is short, pick the short one. If three are short and one is long, pick the long one. If there are two long and two short, go with B. If they’re all the same length, pick A. If they’re all different, choose D. If the lengths are all over the place, pick C.”
Zoe stared in disbelief. “Ms. Lindsay, weren’t you always saying that cheat code was totally unscientific?”
‘So now you’re the one telling us to use it?’ Zoe thought, could hardly believe her ears.

Megan Lindsay replied. “When it’s crunch time, if it works, use it! Just don’t hand in a blank sheet!”
Hannah was speechless.
Zoe watched the whole thing unfold and thought. So it wasn’t Ms. Lindsay pushing Boss to step up. Boss actually signed up on her own?’
‘Boss is about to shake things up big time!’
