Chapter 116
Chapter 116
Class 1 of Grade 12
Jasper had just finished reading the news about Jane skipping the exam. He muttered under his breath. “That idiot Jane. Always screwing things up instead of helping
Just then, one of his classmates exclaimed, “Jasper, check out the school forum! Hannah Carter actually passed the pre- college program application review.”
“Her? Seriously?” Jasper scoffed.
Jasper pulled up the forum, skimmed through the posts, and sneered
Owen’s totally bewitched by that country bumpkin. He’s so far gone he doesn’t even know basic common sense anymore. How could he let Hannah Carter pass the pre-college program application review?’ Jasper scoffed to himself.
Just like most of the gossipers, Jasper was sure Owen had pulled some strings to get Hannah through.
The pre-college program exam was Cavalor School’s way of showing off its top students to visiting university reps. The school put every applicant through a strict screening, and only those who made the cut could sit for the test.
For someone like Hannah Carter, who got in by cheating and plagiarism and even handed in a blank midterm, signing up for the pre-college exam was basically setting herself up for a public smackdown.
But honestly, that was exactly what Jasper wanted.
Jane went through all that trouble, only for it to blow up in her face. Honestly, Hannah Carter was just walking straight into her own doom.
Jasper couldn’t wait to sit back and watch Hannah get wrecked in front of everyone tomorrow.
The next day.
Hannah showed up right on the dot, the very last one to arrive at the exam hall.
At the entrance, the invigilator confiscated her phone and waved the metal detector all over her before finally letting her in.
Her seat was in the very back row, with Claudia on her left and Jasper on her right.
Jasper saw her stroll in empty-handed, looking totally chill, and just smirked, thinking she looked way too relaxed for someone about to get wrecked.
‘Is she even here to take the exam?’ he thought.
After Hannah sat down, she caught Claudia staring at her out of the corner of her eye, so she turned to look.
“I hope you won’t let me down,” Claudia whispered.
“Oh,” Hannah replied coolly, then glanced at Claudia’s pencil case. “Got an extra pen I can borrow?”
She’d been up late last night finishing two missions. If Barnaby hadn’t dragged her out of bed this morning, she probably would’ve missed the exam again.
She was in such a rush this morning, she totally forgot to bring any of her exam stuff.
Claudia was speechless.

Chapter 116
Are you seriously here to take the exam? Claudia thought
Hannah’s voice was just loud enough for pretty much everyone in the room to hear, and a few people even snickered.
Seeing that, Jasper’s smirk grew even wider. “Does someone who just leaves their paper blank even need a pen?”
“Even if you’re just handing in a blank paper, you still gotta write your name, someone called out.
Everyone cracked up.
Speechless, Hannah just stared at them.

Claudia quickly handed Hannal a pen and said, “Jasper, maybe worry about yourself first. Can you even write with your left
hand?”
“Don’t worry about me!” Jasper shot back.
“Quiet, everyone. Let’s start handing out the papers,” Jackson said, slapping the table.
As the papers were handed out, Jasper scanned the questions and realized the last two big problems were exactly the same as the ones in the study materials he’d bought. He’d totally nailed the prediction.
He quickly finished one of the big problems, and out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Hannah still hadn’t even picked up her pen. He glanced up and saw her just staring at the paper.
‘She can’t even read the questions, can she?’ Jasper thought.
Too bad Owen had already secured his spot at Holroad last year and didn’t have to take the exam. Otherwise, he could’ve watched Hannah make a complete fool of herself.
Just wait and see. I’m gonna totally wipe the floor with Hannah,’ Jasper thought.
Jasper lowered his head and kept working on the questions.
Just as he finished the last big problem and started going back to the multiple-choice, he spotted Hannah getting up and turning in her paper.
He glanced at the clock. ‘Seriously? Not even thirty minutes and she’s already done?’
‘Bet she’s turning in another blank sheet, huh?’ Jasper thought.
Claudia was totally shocked.
‘Is she actually here to take the test?’ Claudia thought, totally floored.
There were two proctors: one was Mr. Kevin from Cavalor School, and the other was a university delegation rep named Kelsey.
Neither of them expected anyone to finish and hand in their paper after just thirty minutes.
But when Mr. Kevin saw it was Hannah, he knew right away: ‘Either she turned in a blank, or just scribbled random answers,’ he thought.
He’d heard all about her infamous track record as the school’s beauty, cheated her way into the school, and didn’t even bother to answer anything on the midterms.
He couldn’t figure out why Mr. Drumm even approved her exam application. Letting her take the test was just messing with everyone else and wasting a perfectly good exam sheet.

Chapter 116
When the exam was finally over, he couldn’t care less about picking up Hannah’s paper.

Kelsey had spotted Hannah at the school anniversary opening ceremony and thought she was gorgeous. Who knew she was not just a pretty face, but also a top student?
Just so you know, the pre-college exam questions were put together by reps from all the top universities.
The questions were ridiculously hard. Ever since Cavalor School teamed up with all those elite university reps, literally no one ever finished early.
This was the kind of test that could decide their whole future, so even if someone finished, they’d check and recheck every answer, terrified of making a single mistake.
But this girl right here? She turned in her paper in just thirty minutes flat!
Once the exam ended and the room cleared out, Kelsey rushed over to snatch up Hannah’s test paper, barely able to contain
his excitement.
Meanwhile, the school forum was going absolutely nuts.
[Breaking news! The campus goddess handed in her paper just thirty minutes after the exam started, totally unprecedented, absolute legend!]
[Rumor has it she showed up without even a pen and had to borrow one on the spot.]
[That’s some legendary act right there.]
[No question-she either handed in a blank sheet or just guessed her way through.]
[Come on, place your bets! Even odds-will the campus queen leave it blank or just fill in random answers?]
[I’m putting a hundred on her just guessing everything.]
[Five hundred says she left it blank.]
[A thousand on blank paper.]
[Five grand on blank paper.]
[Ten grand on random answers.]

Lucian was scrolling through the forum and was floored. The betting thread had already stacked up over a thousand
comments.
Seven hundred-plus posts were all betting Hannah would hand in a blank paper, the rest were sure she’d just scribble random answers.
A couple of people tried to stick up for the campus queen, saying it was harsh to drag her like that, but their voices got totally drowned out by the betting hype.
But the wildest part? His sworn enemy, Hale Nelson, went all in, real name and all, and dropped half a million on both options: blank paper and random answers.
Chapter 116
After placing his bets, Hale came over, all smug, and teased, “Lucian, why don’t you ask your bumpkin sis if she’s gonna hand in a blank or just guess everything? You should get in on the action and make some pocket money,
“Hale, did you forget? The Scott family went broke ages ago. He doesn’t even have pocket money now. Where’s he supposed to get cash to bet?” Hale’s lackey snickered.
“Oh, right, almost slipped my mind.” Hale said, pulling out a hundred bucks and waving it around like he was walking a dog. “Want me to lend you a hundred? If you win, you don’t even have to pay me back.”
Lucian’s face darkened. “Get lost!”
If Allison, his seatmate, hadn’t held him back, those two probably would’ve started throwing punches right then and there.
Lucian was fuming. He snatched up his phone, jabbed out a reply, and jumped into the thread.
[A million on the third option: the campus queen actually took the test seriously!]
He didn’t really buy into Hannah’s grades, but with Hale getting all cocky, there was no way Lucian was just gonna sit there and do nothing.
It’s not about the bread, it’s about the pride.
If he doesn’t back his own sister, who will?
