Hannah’s soft scent lingered right under Barnaby’s nose, making him smile as he wrapped his arms around her.

“Let’s start dating after the holidays,” Hannah whispered, nuzzling into his neck.

After the holidays, she’d finally be old enough to date.

Her words tugged at Barnaby’s heartstrings. “Now I really don’t want to leave.”

She didn’t want him to leave either, but he was still part of the Thole family, after all.

“Would the Scott family take me in as their son-in-law?” Barnaby teased.

Hannah let go of him. “Just go.”

Barnaby just stared at her, lost for words.

“I’m really leaving now,” Barnaby said, his voice full of reluctance as he lingered for a moment longer.

“Goodbye,” Hannah said, grabbing the pet carrier and walking into the yard without looking back.

The living room lights were on, and as soon as Hannah opened the door, she came face-to-face with Arthur.

“Why are you back so suddenly?” Arthur asked, surprised.

‘She comes home in the middle of the night, carrying a… is that a pet carrier?’ Arthur wondered.

“Did you and Barnaby have a fight?” Arthur asked.

“No. He’s going back to the Thole family, so I’m staying here for a while,” Hannah replied.

“Oh…” Arthur replied.

He looked like he thought it was kind of a shame.

Hannah just stared at him, not sure what to say.

Barnaby stood at the gate, watching her walk away until she disappeared inside. Only then did he turn and get into the car.

“Take me back to the Skyking House,” he said.

Ronin hesitated, wanting to say something. “What about your brother…”/

“Just ignore him,” Barnaby replied coldly.

Ronin fell silent and started the car, heading back to the Skyking House.

Back at the Skyking House, Barnaby casually shrugged off his coat and headed straight for his study.

His desk was lined with four monitors. He sat down, powered them on, and all four screens flickered to life.

He pulled up the data Axel had sent about Raven’s attack on the Scepter House’s firewall. His left and right hands moved rapidly over two keyboards, different lines of code racing across all four screens.

Daisy had stayed up for three days and nights straight, carefully following the prescription and techniques described in the

Nameless Healer’s paper. At last, she managed to produce a few samples.

She called over Agnes Shaw, a maid, and handed her a pill. “Agnes, this is a medicine for bone overgrowth. You can give it a try.”

“Thank you, Miss Daisy!” Agnes exclaimed, her face lighting up with joy.

Agnes knew Daisy was the Nameless Healer, and with all the recent buzz online about this special medicine, everyone was saying it was a miracle cure.

Her chronic back problem had tormented her for years, so she was desperate to try this wonder pill.

Agnes grabbed the pill, poured herself some water, and downed it in one go.

Daisy hung around the living room, keeping an eye on Agnes as she did her chores. After an hour, when she saw Agnes was fine, she asked with concern, “Agnes, how are you feeling?”

Agnes gave her waist a little twist. “It feels warm! Before, just mopping the floor would make my back ache like crazy, but now I don’t feel a thing. Miss Daisy, this is seriously a miracle pill!”

Daisy’s heart soared. ‘It really worked!’

Making medicine was way easier for her than acupuncture.

“Here are six pills. Take one a day for seven days, that’s one full course of treatment,” Daisy said, handing her a small bottle.

“Thank you so much, Miss Daisy! You’re the best! I’ll make sure to take bouncing with excitement.

at the caller ID and picked up.

“Miss Daisy, the patent and the license for your special medicine are all set. When do you want us to start production?” the person on the other end asked.

It was Marcus Thorne, the general manager of a pharmaceutical company under the Reese Group.

As soon as the Nameless Healer’s paper came out, he rushed to register the patent for the medicine.

بد

He was super efficient, all that was left was to get the prescription, start production, send it off for testing, and then it could hit the market.

Daisy had been a little hesitant at first, but after seeing how well it worked for Agnes, that proved the formula really worked.

Besides, since the recipe came from the Nameless Healer and was made with all nourishing herbs, even if the pills didn’t cure the illness, at least they wouldn’t hurt anyone,

Thinking that, she decided it was worth starting with a small batch to get ahead of the competition.

“I’ll send you the formula. Just make a small batch for now, don’t make too much. The rarer it is, the more valuable,” Daisy

said.

“Understood. This is your patent, Miss Daisy. There’s no way anyone else could come up with a miracle drug like this. This will go down in the Reese family’s history books,” Marcus praised.

Daisy was over the moon from all his praise. Ever since people started mistaking her for the Nameless Healer, she’d never gotten this much recognition in her life.

And with the real Nameless Healer keeping quiet for so long. Daisy was getting totally hooked on all the praise and adoration.

After Marcus threw a few more compliments her way, Daisy hung up with a beaming smile, just as her phone buzzed with a new message from an unfamiliar number.

She tapped it open, and her smile froze on her face.

The MMS was a string of sneaky photos, Barnaby and Hannah entering and leaving a hotel together, and beneath the night sky, Barnaby planting a gentle kiss on Hannah’s forehead.

The people in the photos were none other than Barnaby and Hannah.

Daisy’s smile vanished in an instant. She’d been working so hard to become better, to be someone he’d notice, all just to catch Barnaby’s eye.

But in his eyes, there was only that little vixen!

Just then, another message popped up from the same unknown number: [Ms. Reese, interested in chatting about Barnaby? Iris Thole.]

Daisy shot back a quick reply: [When and where?]

Hannah had no clue that Daisy’s people had already snatched up the patent for her formula before she even knew it.

Early that morning, after settling Hedy, Hannah changed into something more androgynous, pulled on a bucket hat and a mask, packed her laptop and the remaining pills, and grabbed a cab straight to the Scepter House.

Before going to sleep last night, she’d arranged to meet the Scepter House’s Master in

person.

When the security guard heard she had an appointment with the Master, he led her to the front desk. The receptionist then guided her through a winding path of hallways, finally bringing her to a place called “Celestial Pavilion” tucked away behind the auction tower.

“The Nameless Healer?” Axel called out from the main hall, a bit surprised to see her in such a different outfit this time.

Seeing that only Axel was there, Hannah’s brows knit together. She lowered her voice and said, “Hope you’ve been well.”

She kept her expression neutral as she scanned the room, and behind a rosewood screen, she spotted someone sitting in a high-backed, throne-like chair.

Recognizing that voice, Axel couldn’t help but give Hannah another once-over.

Unlike last time, when she’d been completely hidden under a cloak, her casual clothes now made it clear she was a woman, and there was something about her silhouette that felt strangely familiar.

He was itching to see what she looked like under that mask, but after last time’s close call, he forced himself to hold back. “Did you bring it?” he asked.

Hannah pulled a small red brocade box out of her bag and tossed it over to him.

Axel opened it, glanced inside, and took a sniff. “So, Nameless Healer, are you really serious about working with us? Word is, your medicine’s already being mass-produced.”
