Hannah dashed toward the restroom in the administrative building, following the Scepter House floor plan she’d dug up during her earlier investigation.

She quickly dialed Van. “How’s it looking over there?”

On the other end, the frantic clacking of a mechanical keyboard echoed, mixed with Van’s anxious voice.

“I’ve already killed the surveillance in the admin building, but they’ve caught on to me. I can’t hold out much longer, hurry!” Van urged.

There was no way Van could break through the Scepter House’s firewall on his own. Hannah had prepped the code on a USB stick that morning, handed it off to him, and explained exactly what to do.

“Got it,” Hannah replied. She stepped out of the restroom, checked both ways, no one around, then slipped over to the door of an unlit office.

The door was secured with an electronic lock. Hannah quickly pulled up the code she’d prepared on her phone and pressed it against the lock.

The lock beeped, then unlocked with a soft click.

The room inside was pitch black, making Hannah’s head spin for a moment. She instantly flicked on her phone’s flashlight.

It looked like a regular records room, but luckily, there was a computer sitting inside.

Hannah didn’t bother turning on the lights. She closed the door behind her, powered up the computer, and pulled up a chair to sit down.

As soon as the computer booted up and asked for a password, Hannah fished a USB drive out of her pocket and plugged it into the computer.

It didn’t take long, the password was cracked in no time.

Her fingers flew across the keyboard. She’d already breached the Scepter House’s firewall earlier, and now, working from an internal computer, she got into the financial system in no time.

The Scepter House’s financial data was massive and complicated, with an extra firewall stacked on top, double the security, locked up tight.

Breaking through the security now was going to take some time.

But she’d already come this far, risked everything, there was no way she was bailing now.

Hannah grabbed her phone and fired off a quick WhatsApp message to Barnaby, then flexed her fingers, praying he’d stall them a little longer.

Meanwhile, over at the Celestial Pavilion.

Barnaby was sitting in his chair, staring at his phone.

Baby: [I’ve got diarrhea. It’s awful.]

Axel, sitting across from him with that creepy mask on, looked like he was sitting on pins and needles.

He kept glancing at his watch, then finally asked, unable to hold back, “Barnaby, where’s the Nameless Healer?”

“In the restroom,” Barnaby replied.

Axel just stared, speechless.

He really couldn’t figure out what Barnaby was up to. Did he even realize how heavy the responsibility was, wearing that creepy mask?

If anyone in the organization found out he was pretending to be the Master, he’d be hauled out for a public roasting, no doubt about it.

“Knock, knock.” Someone rapped on the door.

“Who is it?” Axel asked, instantly on guard.

Scorpio’s voice came from outside. “Axel, we’ve got a level one alert.”

The last time they’d had a level one alert was when Raven hacked through the firewall.

Just their luck, whatever they were afraid of always seemed to show up.

Axel shot Barnaby a look, clearly waiting for instructions.

Barnaby suddenly stood up and stepped behind the screen.

Axel quickly pulled off the mask and called out, “Come in.”

Scorpio walked in, noticing Axel was dressed all in black, just like the Master, and his hair was a mess, like he’d just ripped off a mask, giving him a suspicious look.

The Master’s identity was a total mystery, even the Zodiac members had never seen the real Master. Most of the time, it was Axel who ran things.

‘Wait, Is Axel actually the Master?’ Scorpio couldn’t help but wonder.

“What’s going on?” Axel asked.

Scorpio snapped back to attention and reported, “Looks like Raven’s back.”

“What do you mean, ‘looks like?” Axel pressed.

“The firewall just got breached. The hacking method and entry point are exactly what Raven usually does, but this time we blocked it fast. It doesn’t seem like Raven himself, so it’s hard to say for sure,” Scorpio explained.

Last time, even with all twelve Zodiac members working together, they couldn’t stop Raven. He crashed their computers so hard they went straight to a blue screen, and in the end, it took the Master himself to shut him down.

Scorpio continued, “But here’s what’s strange, this time, the intruder only targeted the surveillance system and shut down the cameras in the admin building and around the perimeter.

“I suspect there are two teams at play: one is just a distraction to draw our attention, while the other is using the chaos to infiltrate the building for something bigger.”

Barnaby, hidden behind the screen, furrowed his brow. Ever since Raven slipped away last time, he’d been off the radar for quite a while.

Now, after two months, Raven resurfaced, right on the night of the auction when the place was crowded and chaotic. If someone had wanted to sneak in, it would not have been impossible.

And as luck would have it, tonight Axel had just gotten word from the head of the etiquette department that Daisy had

suggested verifying the guest information, hinting that someone might be planning to break the rules.

“Beep, beep, beep,”

Suddenly, the study rang out with the piercing sound of a hacking alert.

The Scepter House’s financial firewall sent the warning straight to the Master’s computer, just like Scorpio had predicted.

“Spread the word, lock down the place and check for anyone acting suspicious, now!” Axel snapped.

“On it,” Scorpio said.

As soon as the door closed, Barnaby stepped out from behind the screen and walked into the study.

Meanwhile, Hannah skimmed through the financial data she’d just extracted when Van’s voice crackled from her phone on the desk.

“Boss, I’ve been blocked. They’ve already pinned down my location. If I keep going, they’ll blow my cover. I’m pulling out, watch yourself,” Van warned.

“Alright. Take care,” Hannah murmured.

The line went dead.

Hannah pulled up the financial records for the Obsidian Pearl auction by date and went over them three times, fast, but couldn’t find any record of Gemma’s payment.

Weird… Hannah frowned.

If the payment hadn’t gone through, there’s no way Gemma could’ve gotten her hands on the Obsidian Pearl.

She pulled up another set of code, but her fingers stopped mid-type as she stared at the screen, stunned.

The transaction record had been wiped, someone had deleted it!

‘Who could’ve wiped the record?’ Hannah frowned, suspicion swirling in her mind.

Suddenly, a glaring red warning box flashed across the screen, jolting Hannah back to her senses.

‘Shit, I’ve been made!’ Hannah’s pulse raced.

She yanked out the USB drive and killed the computer in one quick motion. Just as she was about to bolt for the door, footsteps echoed from the hallway.

Beams of flashlight swept in through the window, and Hannah dropped to the floor, hiding under the desk.

“Check every room, don’t let anyone suspicious get away!” a deep male voice barked from outside.

“Yes, sir!” someone replied.

Then came the sound of someone punching in a code at the electronic lock.

With a click, the door swung open, and the lights snapped on as someone stepped inside.

Hannah crouched under the desk, her heart pounding as the footsteps drew closer.

The footsteps stopped right next to the desk. Hannah watched the shadow on the floor, tense, and with a quick flick of her fingers, a needle was ready at her fingertips.

Tap, tap, tap…

The shadow vanished as the footsteps retreated, and with a sharp click, the lights went out.

Hannah was just starting to relax when her phone suddenly buzzed in her hand.

It was Barnaby calling.

She instantly killed the call, but the person at the door froze mid-step. A flashlight beam shot inside. “Who’s there?”
