Chapter 21
“Ms. Miller, what are you doing? Get up.” Susie, stunned, quickly rushed to help Lyra to her feet.
Hannah glanced coldly at Lyra.
Lyra, seeing Hannah look her way, assumed her sincerity had won Hannah over. She pushed Susie aside and faced Hannah directly.
“Hannah, you’re beautiful and kind-hearted. I was just momentarily blind. I promise I’ll change from now on. You’ll forgive me, won’t you?” Lyra said confidently.
She’d be managing Hannah’s class from now on, so they’d be seeing each other often.
She already bowed, apologizing so genuinely; most people would give in to that kind of sincerity.
Hannah had no reason to deny her an out.
But Lyra didn’t realize Hannah was different from everyone else.
Hannah cast a cold glance at the woman bowing before her, then looked at Jett, lips barely moving. “Mr. Drumm, wasn’t it decided yesterday that she’d have to apologize at the opening ceremony?”
“Yes.” Jett nodded.
Boom.
Lyra’s expression instantly stiffened; her gaze at Hannah went blank.
‘She’s a devil. Yesterday, I just lost my head and said things I shouldn’t have,’ she thought.
Now, she wished she could go back and slap herself a few times.
‘If I really have to bow to Hannah and apologize in front of the entire school at the opening ceremony, how can I possibly continue teaching at Cavalor?’ she wondered.
She had thought that pretending to apologize sincerely would make Hannah forgive her.
It was better than begging Barnaby, whom she might not even see once in a year, but it hadn’t worked.
Despairing, Lyra collapsed onto the floor.
At that moment, a knock sounded at the office door.
Standing there was a woman with neat short hair.
“Ms. Flint, you’re just in time. From now on, you’ll be in charge of Sophomore Class 1. This is the new transfer student, Hannah. Please take her to class,” Jett said.
At Cavalor, being in charge of a class was a step above regular teaching staff; this was a promotion for Yvonne.
Yvonne was excited, not because of the promotion, but because she finally saw Hannah.
“So you’re Hannah, the new genius? I’ve finally met you. I graded your entrance exam; your problem-solving approach was brilliant.
“Come on, I have some treasured math problems we can work on together sometime,” Yvonne said as she led Hannah to Class 1.
Though Dorian didn’t know what had happened yesterday, seeing this scene, he realized that Hannah’s perfect scores were real.
“Thank you for giving Hannah this opportunity,” he said, ecstatic, shaking Jett’s hand.
“Hannah set a new record for Cavalor. This kind of achievement deserves a proper celebration. I’ll have someone prepare it. I’ll invite the entire school for a feast tomorrow,” Jett declared.
Not only was he planning a big banquet, but he also wanted to notify the media nationwide; the Scott family had produced a genius, a cultured elite family.
“Inviting the entire school for a feast is unnecessary. That’s too flashy and doesn’t fit Cavalor’s style,” Jett waved his hand dismissively, though inside he was full of disdain.
No matter how much the Scott family tried to appear like aristocrats, they couldn’t hide their nouveau riche
nature.
“Also, please help find out who started the rumor that Hannah skipped the exam. This is an insult to the Scott family’s reputation,” Dorian added.
Susie’s panic surged when she heard about the big banquet for Hannah.
She was trying to figure out how to stop Dorian when she heard about the investigation into the rumor. Her face went pale instantly.
“I will investigate that. But right now, the priority is to announce Hannah’s results to the entire school,” Jett said decisively.
He immediately arranged for the grades to be posted on the school bulletin board.
Within just one class period, everyone in the Cavalor high school department knew that Hannah was the mysterious genius.
Lyra was officially reprimanded for her poor conduct toward a transfer student; her teacher’s ethics marked with a serious demerit.
The news sparked lively discussions among all the students.
Susie wanted to secretly delete the posts from yesterday before Jett’s investigation, but she saw many of the students who had insulted Hannah online come forward to apologize.
They were replying to her posts, condemning whoever had maliciously fabricated the rumors. She bit her lip in anger.
News of Hannah’s perfect scores quickly reached the Scott residence.

That evening, when Hannah returned home, Felicity joyfully brought her to Aurelia.
“Mrs. Scott, Hannah scored full marks in all four subjects. Shouldn’t Lucian’s study be hers now?” Felicity said excitedly.
She had been worried about Hannah yesterday, but was now thrilled Hannah had done so well, full marks across the board.
Susie couldn’t achieve that even with countless tutoring sessions.
‘Now, Aurelia probably won’t bother Hannah anymore,’ she thought.
