Chapter 212 Madness Before The Fall

Chapter 212 Madness Before The Fall

“Is someone targeting us on purpose?” Chloe asked, her worry clear on her face.

Hannah gave a soft “Mm-hmm.”

“What should we do?” Chloe asked nervously.

‘If you want to bring someone down, you have to let them lose their mind first. If things don’t get out of hand, certain. authorities won’t step in. Don’t worry, just leave it to me,’ Hannah reassured her.

Chloe nodded, trusting Hannah completely. She turned and went back to the pharmacy to keep making medicine for the

patients.

“Joe, has Christopher paid his medical bill yet?” Hannah asked, glancing at Joe Jones, who was helping out with the cleaning.

Just as she finished speaking, Christopher’s cocky voice rang out from the doorway. “Miss me already after just one day?”

He swaggered in, dressed head-to-toe in leather, boots, and sunglasses.

Joe Jones frowned, worried Christopher might stir up trouble again. He stepped in front of him before he could get close to Hannah. “We don’t want any freeloaders here. Since you’re here, Christopher, why don’t you settle your bill first?”

“Please, you think I’d stiff you over a little medical bill?” Christopher scoffed, pulling a 150 thousand dollars check from his breast pocket and slapping it down on the table. “Keep the change!”

Joe Jones checked the check and confirmed it was real, then reminded him, “You still owe for the two rosewood chairs you busted.”

Christopher was left speechless.

“No need,” Hannah said. “Just have your buddies from yesterday come over and stand guard at the door. That’ll settle it.”

“Damn it! All I did was kick a couple of chairs, and now you want me to play guard dog for you?” Christopher snapped.

Hannah shrugged. “If you insist on calling yourself a dog, I’m not gonna argue.”

“Damn it!” Christopher muttered under his breath, totally pissed.

Joe Jones couldn’t help but snort with laughter.

“What the hell are you laughing at? You’re the real guard dog here!” Christopher snapped, shooting him a glare and lifting his leg, ready to kick another chair, but Joe Jones quickly warned him.

“Hey, Christopher, kick that chair and you’ll be stuck standing guard even longer,” Joe Jones said.

Christopher was about to curse again, but Hannah cut him off. “Are you going to help or not?”

Christopher paused, a look of mock surprise on his face. “Are you really asking me for a favor now?”

He licked his lip ring, smirking. “Maybe I could help, but I’ve got one condition.”

“What’s the catch?” Hannah asked.

“You have to buy me dinner,” Christopher replied.

Hannah shrugged. “Sure.”

“I get to pick the time, the place, and what’s on the menu,” Christopher added.

Hannah nodded. “Sure.”

Only then did Christopher look satisfied and pulled out his phone to call his crew.

Soon enough, a bunch of punks with wild hair colors and all kinds of piercings posted up at the clinic door.

The hired troublemakers saw them, especially when they realized Christopher was leading the pack, and none of them dared to make a fuss. They all turned around and left in a hurry.

But Christopher wasn’t about to let them off that easy. He blocked their way, threw his arm around their shoulders, and started giving them his own version of a life lecture, acting like they were old pals.

Sometimes, the only way to deal with troublemakers is to throw an even bigger troublemaker at them.

At the main branch of Grace Hospital, Daisy Re Successfully unlocked!hite coat, was helping Iris Thole out of the

gynecology department.

“Iris, the ultrasound looks great. The embryo is developing perfectly in your uterus, and your baby is growing strong,” Daisy

said with a warm smile.

Iris’s face lit up with joy as she grabbed Daisy’s hand, her voice trembling with excitement. “Daisy, you really are the Nameless Healer! Thank you so much for making my dream of becoming a mother come true.”

“It’s nothing, really. This is what I’m here for,” Daisy replied with a gentle smile.

Then Daisy pulled a small bottle from her pocket and handed it to Iris. “This is a new formula I just came up with. Take one pill a day. It’ll help protect your pregnancy.”

Iris’s hand paused when she heard about the new remedy.

Lately, she’d caught wind of some gossip. Rumor had it Daisy’s new formula could get people hooked. Someone had tried to blow the story wide open, but the Reese family had shelled out cash to hush it up.

On the other hand, some folks said it was just jealous haters spreading rumors before the formula even launched. Who knew what was real?

Still, with Daisy’s help, she was finally pregnant. No one could argue with that.

“Thank you, Daisy. When my baby’s born, you have to be the godmother!” Iris said, finally snapping out of her daze. “Honestly, I’d rather be the aunt-in-law,” Daisy replied with a playful smile.

That was her way of saying she wanted to be Barnaby’s wife.

Iris laughed. “I promised you, and I’ll make sure it happens.”

“Oh, and I’m throwing a party this Sunday. I really hope you can make it, and as for Barnaby, I’m counting on you to bring him along,” Daisy said, pulling an invitation from another pocket.

Iris smiled and agreed right away. “No problem.”

After Iris left, Daisy returned to her office, where Julie and Marcus were waiting for her.

“Daisy, all those patients have gone over to Ms. Carter’s clinic,” Julie reported.

“Yeah,” Daisy replied. “If any more patients like that show up, just send them her way. Hannah’s a senior in our field, and her clinic just opened up. She needs the business, otherwise, that huge courtyard is gonna be tough to pay for. As fellow doctors, it’s the least I can do to help her out.”

“Okay. Daisy, you’re honestly way too kind,” Julie said, looking at her with pure admiration.

“Even though you’re supposed to be rivals, Miss Daisy, you don’t treat them like competition at all. You even send them patients! That’s seriously next-level generous,” Marcus chimed in.

“But you’re so nice to them, and honestly, I doubt they even appreciate it. Especially Hannah, she’s been all over Barnaby, even though she knows you and him are supposed to get engaged…” Julie grumbled under her breath, clearly annoyed. Daisy just gave a gentle smile. “It’s fine. We’re doctors. Helping people is what matters, not all that drama.”

Julie nodded, thinking she’d definitely chosen the right person to follow.

Marcus nodded too, figuring that with Daisy at the helm of the Reese family, their future was golden. He was determined to ride her coattails all the way up.

“Should we still invite them to the party on Sunday?” Julie asked.

Daisy nodded. “Of course.”

At the party, she wasn’t just going to announce her new formula was hitting the market. She was also going to officially reveal the alliance between the Thole and Reese families. If Hannah didn’t show up, how would she ever realize the gap between them?

Later that evening at Ms. Carter’s clinic.

Hannah had been lounging in an antique armchair, playing tile-matching games on her phone all day. Finally, Daisy’s messenger arrived.

“Is Hannah here?” Julie asked as she walked into the lobby.

“Yeah, just leave the invitation,” Hannah replied, never taking her eyes off her game.

Julie had felt something was off ever since she saw Christopher outside, and now, with Hannah acting like this, the weird vibe just got stronger.

‘How did Hannah know I was here to drop off an invitation?’ Julie thought to herself.

She took another look at the empty lobby, and the weird vibe faded away.

Daisy was right. This place only had its fifteen minutes of fame, and now it’s dead quiet. They’re probably just waiting for Daisy to bail them out Julie thought.

She let out a cold laugh. “Please, if it wasn’t for Daisy being so generous and sending you patients, this place would’ve shut

down ages ago

Hannah glanced up at her. “Oh? So you’re admitting you guys sent all those problem patients here on purpose?”

“Show some gratitude, Julie sneered, tossing the invitation onto the table before strutting out.

Hannah glanced at the invitation, a knowing smirk playing on her lips. ‘Looks like they’ve set the stage for me. Time to call them out, she thought.
