Chapter 214 The Real Nameless Healer

Chapter 214 The Real Nameless Healer

“Who is she?” someone whispered.

“The girl who came with Dr. Carter. She started eating the moment she walked in, and now that she’s had her fill, is she just here to stir up trouble?” another person said.

“What does this have to do with her?” someone else asked.

“Didn’t you say they were from some backwater town? So how come she just spoke with a flawless Thalvarin?” someone else chimed in.

“Shouldn’t we be focusing on what she said about face blindness? Did Grant really get the wrong person?” another person

asked.

“No way. This award is for the Nameless Healer. Isn’t Ms. Reese supposed to be the Nameless Healer?” someone else said.

The guests were all whispering and gossiping among themselves.

On stage, Daisy’s gaze briefly showed a strange mix of surprise and obvious distaste when she spotted Hannah.

‘How does Hannah even know Grant?’ Daisy thought to herself, feeling unsettled.

Even Daisy had only met Grant in person twice, and that was just because she’d gotten lucky enough to attend an international medical conference.

As the guests’ gossip reached her, a sudden realization hit Daisy, draining the color from her face. She reached out, eager to grab the trophy and get this over with, but Grant pulled it away before she could touch it.

“Sorry, I got the wrong person. This trophy isn’t for you,” Grant said, his voice unwavering.

Grant didn’t hesitate. He took the trophy back and strode off the stage, leaving Daisy standing there in shock.

Grant knew something was off the moment Daisy spoke. He’d crossed paths with the Nameless Healer more than a few times before, and even though she always showed up in that signature red cloak and golden mask, for someone with face blindness like him, she was unmistakable.

For this award ceremony, he’d shown up at the place the Nameless Healer told him to go. Everyone here insisted Daisy was the Nameless Healer, and with her wearing that same red cloak, it was no wonder he’d gotten it wrong.

Daisy’s face turned ghostly pale. She just couldn’t figure out what mistake she had made.

‘How did Grant see through me and realize I’m not the Nameless Healer?’ Daisy thought, her heart racing with panic.

She had imitated the Nameless Healer to near perfection. Even the real Nameless Healer hadn’t stepped forward to expose her. ‘So where did I go wrong?’ Daisy wondered, her thoughts in chaos.

Everyone here was left speechless.

Reporters and media were lost for words.

‘Did they really mess up the winner for such an important award?’ people thought, totally stunned.

‘Is the Lasker Foundation for real right now?’ someone muttered, shaking their head in disbelief.

‘Wait, did he just call out the wrong person?!’ someone exclaimed, stunned.

‘The trophy isn’t for Daisy Reese?!’ another guest gasped, their jaw dropping in disbelief.

‘So… who’s the real winner?’ someone else asked, voices rising with confusion.

Everyone’s eyes locked onto Grant as he stepped off the stage and made a beeline for Hannah.

‘Wait, Daisy’s not the Nameless Healer? It’s Hannah all along?’ the guests thought, their brains short-circuiting.

The guests, who’d been buzzing with excitement just seconds ago, were now totally mind-blown.

“The Scepter House just posted an auction for the Nameless Healer’s exclusive remedy!” someone suddenly shouted.

The stunned guests all pulled out their phones to check the news.

“It’s real! The post went up right when the Nameless Healer, no, when Ms. Reese announced her special medicine,” someone said, still trying to process what was happening.

“Wait, they both announced it at the same time? Is it the same remedy?” another guest asked, completely confused.

“No way. The Scepter House only auctions off Successfully unlocked! can be mass-produced would never catch their

eye,” someone said, shaking their head in disbelief

“The Scepter House never gets their appraisals wrong. So the special medicine Ms. Reese just announced for public sale

must be a different remedy from the one they’re auctioning off!” another guest exclaimed, their voice rising with excitement.

Daisy picked up on the nervous chatter rippling through the crowd and instantly felt the panic rising. She gave the host a pleading look, hoping she’d step in and bail her out.

The host looked just as lost, but she pulled herself together and tried to get control of the room. “Everyone, let’s all settle down.”

She turned to Hannah and said, “Miss Carter, it’s not time for questions yet. Head back to your seat and don’t cause a scene.”

Grant didn’t speak Zirenthis, so he had the hostess translate for him. As soon as he understood, he waved his hand and said,

“No, no, no. She can’t go back. This trophy is hers. She’s the real Nameless Healer.”

The host was left in shock.

The guests were crazy.

Daisy exclaimed.

‘Wait, isn’t Hannah Carter just Barnaby’s secretary?’ everyone thought, completely baffled.

‘When did she become the Nameless Healer?!’ everyone was utterly stunned.

Daisy could only watch in shock and disbelief as Grant, with everyone staring, walked over and placed the Lasker trophy right into Hannah’s hands, making it official.

The whole place erupted.

“Oh my god, did I just pinch myself? This can’t be a dream!” someone blurted out, still reeling from the shock

“She… she’s actually the Nameless Healer?! Can I take back what I said earlier?” another guest stammered, wishing they could disappear right now.

“Are you serious? Daisy’s not the Nameless Healer?” someone else gasped, totally floored.

“Come on, it’s obvious! The head of the International Medical Info Society and the Scepter House both confirmed it!” another guest said, shaking their head in disbelief.

“Man, this girl is seriously low-key. She let someone pretend to be her for half a year and didn’t even bother to clear things up!” someone blurted out, still reeling.

“The Reese family’s supposed to be a big deal. How did they end up with someone stealing another person’s name?” another guest muttered, shaking their head.

“No wonder Daisy kept stalling whenever people asked her to show the Obsidian Pearl. So she was a total fraud this whole time!” someone else said, realization hitting hard.

“If her whole identity was fake, does that mean her miracle cure is a scam too?” another guest wondered aloud, doubt creeping in.

“Imposter! Bet her so-called miracle cure is a total scam too! Who knew the Reese family would pull something this shady?” someone shouted, their voice dripping with contempt.

“Fake! Bow down and beg for forgiveness from the real Nameless Healer!” another guest yelled, their words echoing through the hall.

Daisy stood on stage, her face ghostly pale, as the same guests who used to sing her praises were now all pointing and gossiping about her.

She even saw Mr. Thole, the mayor, and her own father get up and storm out, her heart in total panic.

Then she glanced at Hannah, who was standing just below the stage, clutching the trophy, her eyes cold and icy as she watched Daisy’s embarrassment unfold.

Daisy had always imagined the Nameless Healer as someone living above the fray, totally indifferent to fame and fortune. Otherwise, why would the real Nameless Healer let her impersonate for so long without ever calling her out?

But she never, not in a million years, thought the Nameless Healer would turn out to be Hannah Carter.

Her absolute nemesis, the woman Daisy despised more than anyone.

All this time, Daisy had been going around using the Nameless Healer’s name, and Hannah never exposed her. ‘Why did Hannah just let me pretend?’ Daisy thought, her mind spinning.

‘Has she always been like this? Just standing there, coldly watching me embarrass myself, watching me become a joke?’

Daisy wondered, a chill creeping down her spine.

Suddenly, Daisy realized, Hannah must have done this on purpose.

She didn’t call Daisy out before, just so she could let Daisy crash and burn in front of everyone, the VIPS, the media, the cameras, so the whole world could watch her become a laughingstock.

Daisy was a mess, furious and panicked all at once. She clenched her fists so tight her nails dug into her palms, just to keep herself from falling apart.

“I never once claimed to be the Nameless Healer. You all started calling me that. I tried to explain, but no one ever listened,” she said, her voice soft and fragile as she held the microphone, looking like she might break down any second.

Tears welled up in her eyes, her voice catching as if she was the one being wronged. The guests almost felt sorry for her, forgetting their anger for a moment.

But Hannah let out a cold laugh. “Oh, really? And what about your medicine? Was that everyone’s idea too?”

‘Yeah, you claim you didn’t mean to steal her identity, but you still went out of your way to make her exclusive remedy and even announced it for sale.’

‘If that’s not intentional, then what is?’ Hannah thought, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

Daisy was so furious she could barely speak, wishing someone would just make Hannah eat her words right there.

‘This woman isn’t the Nameless Healer I admired. She’s a total demon!’ Daisy thought, her heart burning with anger.

“I developed the miracle cure myself! I’ve been working on it for ages, doing experiments and everything. I swear I never copied or imitated anyone!” she choked out, her voice trembling with emotion.

Hannah didn’t bother to call her out. She just played along, her tone dripping with sarcasm. “So the Reese family has been cooking up this kind of evil poison for ages, huh?”

Daisy’s heart lurched, and she blurted out, her voice sharp and panicked, “Don’t be ridiculous! The miracle cure was approved by the Drug Authority! No way there’s anything wrong with it!”

Hannah’s eyes narrowed, her tone unreadable. “Oh, really?”

Down in the audience, Mr. Dunn suddenly had a bad feeling, mentally calling Daisy a fool.

Many of the guests had taken the pills Daisy distributed, and now they were all staring at her without blinking, looking like they’d rip her to shreds if there was anything wrong with those pills.

Daisy felt a chill crawl down her spine under their piercing gazes, but she forced herself to stand firm. “That’s right! There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the miracle cure!”

“Heh, some legendary medical clan you are. You can’t even tell basic toxins from actual medicine,” Hannah sneered, her voice thick with mockery.

Daisy’s brow furrowed, totally lost by Hannah’s words and starting to feel uneasy.

But it didn’t take long for it to finally click.

“Medicine! Medicine! Give me the medicine!” Suddenly, a hysterical woman burst into the banquet hall and charged straight toward Daisy on stage. “Medicine! Miss Reese, hurry, give me the medicine!”

“Where did this crazy woman come from? Security, get her out of here!” Julie snapped, stepping forward to block the hysterical woman.

But when she finally saw the woman’s face, Julie’s eyes widened in shock. “Agnes? What happened to you?”

Agnes had totally lost it. She shoved Julie out of the way and rushed straight at Daisy, her voice shrill and desperate. “Miss Reese, the medicine! Please, I need the miracle cure! Give it to me now!”
