Chapter 250 Don’t Ruin Ravenos’ Legendary Status

Chapter 250 Don’t Ruin Ravenos’ Legendary Status

Evelyn’s eyes grew red as she spoke about her daughter. “Anna’s success is all because of her talent and hard work. I only taught her the basics of traditional medicine, and she caught or instantly. After that, she mostly taught herself.

“And when I brought you back to the mountains before, I wanted to teach you medicine too, to pass on my legacy. But you didn’t want to learn, and just left without a word…”

“I don’t care!” Susie cut her off.

“If I hadn’t been switched at birth, would I be stuck in this mess now? Hannah’s already stolen all my fortune. Everything she’s got, the recognition, the honor, should’ve been mine!

“She’s already taken so much from me, and now she wants to snatch my spot as the third daughter of the Thole family. You’re my real grandma. I won’t let you help her anymore! You have to help me! Otherwise, my mom will never rest easy in heaven!” she said.

Evelyn stared at Susie in disbelief, never expecting her to be so self-righteous.

If they hadn’t been switched at birth, Hannah wouldn’t have had to endure so much hardship by her side.

She wiped away the tears from her eyes and asked, “Do you know how your mom died? Have you ever gone to see your dad?”

Susie scoffed, “Why would I even bother visiting him?”

To her, Evelyn was just useful for her medical skills, nothing more. If it weren’t for that, Susie wouldn’t have come looking for her at all. As for those so-called birth parents she’d never met, they meant even less to her.

All Susie cared about was living it up with the Thole family’s riches and status. Her dad? Rotting in prison for murder, she couldn’t care less.

And her mom? Dead in a car crash ages ago, which was honestly for the best. If she were still around, she’d probably just be another Evelyn, always siding with Hannah.

Evelyn steeled herself, her voice icy as she snapped, “Get out of here. I’m not going anywhere with you.”

Susie couldn’t believe her ears. In the past, all she had to do was mention her mom and Evelyn would bend over backwards for her, she was her only family, after all. But today, Evelyn was downright ruthless.

‘Hannah must’ve brainwashed her!’ Susie thought.

“So, you don’t care about all those files and photos of my mom anymore?” Susie asked, her voice icy.

Evelyn’s lips trembled. Those were the only things left of her daughter.

Seeing her hesitate, Susie pressed her advantage. “Grandma, I’ll give you three days to think it over. Leave Hannah and come with me.

“Otherwise, I’ll burn all those things right in front of my mom’s grave and tell her exactly how you treated her daughter. You wouldn’t want her to be restless in the afterlife, would you?

“And even if you don’t help me, with the power I have in the Thole family now, I can still bring Hannah down. Don’t blame me if you miss your chance. Think it over.” she said.

With that, Susie flung open the door and strutted out, her head held high.

“You…” Evelyn collapsed into her chair, her eyes stained with tears.

Meanwhile, Hannah met up with Van at the entrance of Imperial Hotel, and together, the staff escorted them to a private suite on the top floor.

Imperial Hotel had ten floors, the higher the floor, the more prestigious the guests. The tenth floor was completely off- limits to outsiders; only the Thole family had access.

Today, Dustin had invited them to the top-floor suite, making it clear he was all-in on this collaboration.

The waiter poured a cup of coffee for each of them, saying respectfully, “Please wait a moment, Dustin will be here soon.”

With that, the waiter quietly slipped out.

“How should I introduce you later?” Van asked, angle of

“Just say I’m your assistant,” Hannah replied o

Van nearly choked on his coffee. “You think Dustin will actually buy that?”

‘The Nameless Healer playing second fiddle as my assistant? Seriously?’ Van thought, his mind spinning.

‘Is she seriously trying to insult my IQ with a lie this dumb?’ Van grumbled inwardly.

“Who knows?” Hannah said, grabbing her pen and started jotting down notes in the book.

Van gawked at her. “Hold up, you’re actually reading a C programming book? You’re a legendary hacker, why are you even messing with beginner stuff like C?*

*Barnaby’s been trying to pick up hacking lately. I’m just highlighting the key points and putting together a summary for him, so he doesn’t end up going down the wrong path,” Hannah replied.

“Did you tell him who you really are?” Van asked.

Hannah shook her head. “Nope. I’m just tagging along with him brushing up on the basics as we go.”

‘Man, this stuff is so boring, I wouldn’t even look at it twice after finishing. And you’re actually revisiting it for fun? If you’re not the real boss, then who is!” Van said, giving her a thumbs-up in awe.

Just then, the door to the private suite swung open, and Dustin walked in with a big grin on his face.

But the moment he saw Hannah, his smile vanished. “What are you doing here?”

Hannah barely glanced at him, finished her annotation like nothing had happened, and shut the book.

Van glanced between the two of them. “So, you guys know each other?”

Right after he asked, he realized how pointless it was, Dustin was Barnaby’s nephew, so of course they’d crossed paths.

He got up and, just like Hannah told him, said, “She’s my assistant.”

He quickly racked his brain for a decent excuse, but before he could say anything, Dustin let out a mocking laugh. “Typical. Even the Nameless Healer is only worthy of being the assistant to Ravenos’ assistant,” Dustin sneered.

Hannah could only stare in disbelief.

Van was left speechless.

‘What kind of galaxy-brain logic is this? Van thought, completely dumbfounded.

Dustin turned his attention to Van, his gaze lingering on the boyish, clean-cut guy, exactly his kind of guy. As they shook hands, he couldn’t help but run his finger along Van’s palm, a sly little tease.

Van’s brows furrowed in discomfort as he jerked his hand away

Hannah caught Van acting weird and gave him a look, as if to ask, ‘What’s up?’

Van quickly grabbed his phone, and soon enough, Hannah saw a message from him pop up on her screen.

[Damn, he just sexually harassed me!]

Hannah gave Dustin a surprised look. ‘Oh wow, so that’s the kind of guy you are, Dustin?

‘Wait, wasn’t he supposed to have a girlfriend?’ she thought to herself.

Dustin didn’t pay any attention to their little exchange. He glanced at the book Hannah had set down and said in a snarky tone, “Seriously? Still stuck on C programming? Van, is that all you expect from your assistant’s skills?

“Ravenos’ assistant’s assistant is just a total newbie? If people hear about this, it’s gonna ruin Ravenos’ legendary status! At least get someone who actually knows how to code, will you?

Van thought, ‘If only you knew, she’s Ravenos, the very legend you’re talking about!’

Van said, “I think she’s great.”

“Don’t let her looks fool you. Programming’s something you gotta start young. She’s only just picking it up now, and she’s a girl, too. Even if she gets through that C book, I seriously doubt she could write a single line of real code.

‘Honestly, she’s probably just trying to get close to you to snoop around for dirt on Ravenos, Dustin sneered.

He kept going, “You should just ditch her and get someone who actually knows their stuff. Like me, for instance. I’m not some pro coder, but I know my way around the basics.

‘If Ravenos ever teams up with the Thole family, I’ll even be your assistant for free.”

His shameless brown-nosing was so over the top that even Hannah felt disgusted. She shot back with a frosty tone, “Are you here to get hired or what?”

Dustin’s words caught in her throat for a second. “I’m just proving that even I know more than a coding rookie like you. Now get out before you mess up Ravenos’ pedestal!”
