Chapter 259 The Unmasking Frenzy

Chapter 259 The Unmasking Frenzy

“Raven!”

“Raven just popped up!”

“Wait, what? Vulcan is actually Raven?!”

“Is this guy even human? Just whips out a USB and turns out to be a boss-level legend!”

“Raven! That’s a million dollars on the line! Get her!”

“Ten million! Eirengard’s got a ten-million bounty on her!”

“Enough talk! Just grab her already!”

The whole place was in an uproar. Everyone was trying to push their way over, especially the delegation from Veridia. They’d been searching for Raven all night, and the moment they saw the logo on the screen, they started elbowing through the crowd, heading straight for her.

But before they could get close, Barnaby shot Ronin a look. In an instant, a wave of bodyguards in black suits and sunglasses flooded the banquet hall, surrounding the display area. They were huge, like a living wall, cutting off the guests from Hannah.

A few reckless souls tried to force their way in, but the bodyguards took them down in a flash. The sight was so intimidating that the crowd behind them froze, not daring to move any closer.

Howard and Dustin had been chatting with other guests, but when the Raven logo flashed on the screen and chaos broke out, they made their way toward the crowd, wanting to see who Raven really was.

But by then, everyone in the hall was drawn in by the spectacle. The display area was surrounded by crowds several rows deep, and Howard and Dustin couldn’t even squeeze through.

Lucian stared at the Raven logo flashing on the screen, totally floored.

He whipped around, eyes wide and sparkling with awe as he looked at Hannah.

‘Wait, the legendary Shadow I’ve been dying to apprentice under is actually my own sister!’ Lucian’s heart was racing.

‘No wonder I waited downstairs for her before the banquet and she never showed up!’ he realized.

He hurried over to Hannah, gaze earnest. “Shadow, let me bow to you as your mentee…”

“Sorry, grabbed the wrong one again,” Hannah said, unfazed as she yanked out the USB drive.

‘Dealing with these scrubs using my main is total overkill. Better switch to my alt,’ Hannah thought.

Lucian, who was just about to kneel, froze. ‘Wait, are you serious right now?’

The crowd was in total disbelief. ‘She messed up again? How many secret identities does she even have?’

Barnaby’s mind was blown. ‘Baby’s got even more alts hidden away?’

Hannah calmly fished out another USB drive from her purse and plugged it in. The Raven logo flashed on the screen, then disappeared, and suddenly a black “S” appeared on a white background.

Hannah froze when she saw the new logo, her eyes shot straight to the USB drive.

‘I swear, I didn’t grab the wrong one this time!’ she thought.

But that wasn’t her logo.

She caught on right away, this was Spencer’s handiwork.

She played it cool, scanning the room, but with bodyguards packed in so tight, there was no way to spot Spencer. Instead, she found Barnaby staring at her like he could see right through her, eyes locked and unblinking.

On the surface, Hannah looked calm as ever, but inside, her ming was a storm of chaos.

The moment their eyes met, Hannah’s heart did a backflip, and she jerked her gaze away like she’d touched a live wire. Right then, she noticed Lucian still half-kneeling, and reached out to steady him, using the motion to cover up her own

nerves.

Hannah put on a show of bravado, saying, “Legs gone weak from shock? Don’t sweat it!”

Lucian just gaped, totally out of words.

Barnaby saw right through Hannah’s nerves, his eyes growing darker and more unreadable by the second, like a bottomless abyss no one could ever fathom.

“Legend, just how many secret identities do you have stashed away?” someone yelled.

“She just whips out a random USB and it’s always some boss-level persona!” another person exclaimed.

“Don’t tell me she’s about to claim she picked the wrong USB again!” someone joked.

“Wait, Vulcan, Shadow, and Raven are all the same person?!” someone blurted out.

“Weren’t Shadow and Raven supposed to be mentor and mentee? So now they’re actually the same person? Was that whole mentor-mentee thing just her switching personas?” someone wondered aloud.

“Weren’t Shadow and Vulcan supposed to be sworn enemies? Is she seriously playing both parts herself?” someone blurted out.

“Boss, is your purse some kind of cheat bag? How many more identities you got in there? Or are you just gonna keep pulling out the wrong ones?” someone joked.

“Why not just dump all your secret identities out at once and blow our minds for good?” another person shouted.

The crowd was in an uproar.

Kaelin was completely frozen, spaced out in disbelief. The 120 seconds had been up ages ago, and he hadn’t snagged a single thing from the claw machine.

Hayes stood next to the claw machine, his jaw practically hitting the floor in shock.

With the two top hackers in the world standing right here, his cousin ranked 99th was basically a nobody, he wasn’t even worthy to shine their shoes.

While they were still in shock, Kaelin’s computer was already hacked. The Shadow logo flashed in the top right corner of his screen, and the code on his USB drive, along with his firewall was obliterated right in front of everyone.

Then the screen went blue, and the computer was toast.

It all happened in just a minute.

Kaelin didn’t even see Hannah’s fingers move, and the silent battle was already over.

‘Is this even humanly possible?’ he thought, totally blown away.

Kaelin was having a full-on existential crisis.

‘Who did I just piss off, a total monster of a boss?!’ he thought, completely losing it.

Aurora was a woman of the world, not easily rattled by all this commotion.

She didn’t know the first thing about Vulcan or Shadow, though Raven’s name rang a bell, everyone was after her tonight, but honestly, what did that have to do with her?

All she cared about was the Nelson family’s reputation.

She snapped, “Kaelin, why are you just standing there like an idiot? Hurry up and do something…”

Before she could finish, Kaelin went crashing off his chair, scrambling and crawling on his knees right up to Hannah.

“Boss, I’m sorry! I totally messed up, I didn’t know who you were Mrs. Nelson made me do it! Please, just pretend I don’t exist, let me off the hook, I swear I’ll never cross you again!” Kae in pleaded, banging his forehead on the floor.

Kaelin kept banging his head on the floor, kowtowing like his life depended on it.

“Useless! Who told you to start groveling like that? The contest sn’t even over! What are you apologizing for?” Aurora snapped, dragging him up in exasperation.

“Exactly, it’s not over yet. Apologizing now doesn’t count!” Hannah scoffed.

“Right! Once it’s done, you all better get in line and kneel for a proper apology!” Lucian straightened up, totally forgetting his aching back.

Dorian regained his pride thanks to his daughter’s performance. He snagged two coins from a passing waiter and shoved them at Lucian. “Hurry up!”

Everyone was stunned.

‘Is there even any point in continuing after such an obvious ending?’ everyone thought.

Aurora nervously swallowed, while Hayes physically blocked the coin slot, refusing to let Lucian anywhere near the claw machine. He was acting like if Lucian couldn’t get his hands on he machine, their loss didn’t even count

Arthur shrugged and said, “If you guys don’t wanna keep playing just throw in the towel and apologize.”

Aurora went off. “Who says we’ve lost? The game’s not over yet so don’t count us out!”

“This is a total landslide, nobody wants to watch you drag it out Just admit you lost, say sorry, and stop wasting our time!” someone shouted.

“Seriously, who even cares about your match? Stop blocking the way, apologize, and scram! We’re trying to catch Raven here!” another person yelled.

“Just give up! Apologize!” the crowd started chanting.

“Just give up! Apologize!” the chant echoed louder.

Everyone in the crowd started shouting, and soon they were all demanding the same thing, Aurora needed to apologize. Aurora was notorious in Kinswood for being a real battle-axe, thick-skinned as they come, totally unfazed by anything. Even with the whole crowd shouting for her to apologize, she just stood her ground and wouldn’t say sorry no matter what.

Just then, the event organizer’s rep, Finneus, finally strolled in.

Aurora’s eyes lit up the moment she spotted him. Her family ran the largest electronics manufacturer in Cathayria, and they handled all the production for Xenith Systems Group’s gadgets

With that kind of partnership, there’s no way Mr. Wraith would risk losing us, he’ll definitely back the Nelson family, she thought, confidence surging.
