Chapter 272 Everything I Have Is Yours

Chapter 272 Everything I Have Is Yours

At the Scepter House’s Celestial Pavilion.

Barnaby sat at his desk, wearing a sinister mask. He slammed te documents down. “You can’t even get something this simple right? Does the Scepter House feed you for nothing?”

In front of his desk stood a dozen managers from different departments, all with their heads hung low under his harsh words.

After Vulcan’s identity got exposed, the Second Elder started string up trouble. These guys had been called in for overtime since last night, hadn’t slept a wink, and had been grinding all day today. Two days straight without sleep, no wonder a few slip-ups happened.

The mistake wasn’t a big deal and could’ve been fixed later, but no one expected Barnaby, who’d been burning the midnight oil too, to still be so alert and spot it right away.

The atmosphere was so tense it was suffocating. No one dared to make a sound, afraid one wrong word and they’d be done for.

Just then, Barnaby’s phone chimed with a WhatsApp message He glanced over, it was his personal phone, set with a special alert for her messages.

He grabbed the phone right away.

Hannah: [Give me back my pajamas!]

When Barnaby saw her message, he felt like half the fatigue from the past two days vanished instantly. Beneath his mask, a faint smile tugged at his lips as he typed back: [Want me to bring them over right now?]

Hannah: [Intra-city express service!]

Barnaby: [No way. I won’t let anyone else touch your personal clothes.]

Barnaby: [If you want them, I’ll deliver them myself.]

The typing bubble appeared, then vanished after a moment. In the end, Barnaby received a “bye” sticker from her.

Barnaby gave a quiet laugh, shattering the tense mood in the room. But instead of feeling relieved, the managers just got

even more nervous.

Their Master never cracked a smile. He was decisive, swift, and merciless in everything he did.

There was once a waitress who accidentally spilled water on hi clothes. By the next day, she and her whole family had disappeared off the face of the earth.

And that was just the tip of the iceberg. Inside the Scepter House, plenty of people who messed up big time had their minds forcibly wiped, ending up as human vegetables..

They were managers here, so even the tiniest mistake could mean something way worse for them…

“Take it back and redo it. That’s it for today,” Barnaby said.

The managers exchanged glances, wondering if they’d heard right. ‘Did he really just let us redo it?’

Axel, standing by the desk, saw they were still lingering and reminded them, “Still waiting for a punishment?”

Only then did the managers breathe a huge sigh of relief and scombled out. Looking back, they were all secretly grateful to whoever messaged the Master, it was a lifesaver.

Hannah spent the whole night tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep. Only then did she realize how much she’d gotten used to Barnaby holding her. With him gone, the bed felt way to empty, the space behind her just felt cold and lonely

As soon as the sun came up, Hannah stopped forcing herself to sleep. She got up, washed up, and went straight to the north wing to mess with her medicines.

Just as Hannah walked out of the courtyard, she heard a key tubing in the back gate and stopped in her tracks. The back gate swung open and Barnaby stepped inside, stoppling short when he saw Hannah standing there She had on a white dress, her long hair tumbling down in loose waves.

She looked like she’d stepped out of a dream, but there was a lile frown on her pretty face, maybe she hadn’t slept well, or was just still half asleep. Usually, unless some s

Barnaby was the first to speak, his voice low an

jhter “Baby, why are you up so early?”

His eyes were bloodshot, dark circles heavy underneath, and the was stubble on his chin

Normally, he was all clean cut and put together, but right now he looked downright scruffy. Still, with those killer features,

he somehow pulled off the messy look and made it work.

Hannah stared at him for a few seconds before snapping out of t. “Why are you here?”

“You’ve got way too many guys circling around you. I was worried someone might steal you away, so I pulled a couple of all -nighters to finish my work and came back early,” Barnaby explained, shutting the back gate behind him.

Hannah watched as he slipped the key into his bag, her brows furrowing. “Who cares about your work? I mean, who told you you could just come back here? Hand over the key!”

She held out her hand, demanding the key.

“Not a chance,” Barnaby said, gesturing at the east wing. “My labs still here.”

Hannah usually did all her medicine-making in the north wing, so she barely ever set foot in the east wing lab. The door was always locked, except when Barnaby went in to mess around with experiments.

The place was packed with bottles, jars, and all kinds of lab equipment, there was no way he could move it all out in one night.

“So when are you going to find somewhere else and move it out” she asked.

“I’m not moving it,” Barnaby said, swinging open the door to the east wing.

That was when Hannah realized that all the suitcases and stuff Barnaby had packed up from the west wing had just been moved into the east wing instead.

She couldn’t help but laugh in exasperation. “So that night when you said the whole courtyard was mine and you were moving out, was that just a lie?”

“It’s yours. The deed’s already been transferred,” Barnaby said, pulling a red booklet out of his bag and handing it to her. Hannah took it and flipped it open. Sure enough, her name and I were right there. A strange feeling welled up inside her. Barnaby pulled out two lease agreements. “How about letting me rent this wing?

“There’s a bunch of lab gear here that’s a nightmare to move, and honestly, the real reason is, this is where the woman I love and I made a promise for the ages. Now that I’ve got her back, I want to see it through…”

“Alright, save it. Rent’s triple the market rate!” Hannah cut him off before he could go on.

She knew some of the lab equipment really was a pain to move, and honestly, this place had always been his, she was the one who lucked out and got it.

Plus, she remembered the whole recording restoration thing. She’d been wondering how to get Barnaby to give it a shot, and now she had the perfect reason.

Whether she trusted him or not, his skills were undeniable.

Seeing how quickly she agreed, Barnaby couldn’t help but play up to her. “Just write whatever price you want. Anyway, all my money’s yours sooner or later.”

“Zip it. If you keep trying to act like we’re a couple, I’m not renting to you,” Hannah warned.

Barnaby immediately clammed up.

“And you still owe me a favor,” Hannah said, laying out her demand.

“I’m on standby for you, 24/7, just say the word,” Barnaby replied giving her a look so earnest he was practically an eager puppy trying to win her over.

Hannah caught the tired look he couldn’t hide and waved him off. “Alright, go on, get out of here, sleep it off, and come find me when you’re actually awake.”

Barnaby straightened up. “You got it, Boss. But just so you know, I’m living right here.”

Hannah raised an eyebrow. “There’s no bed here. How are you planning to sleep?”

“I’ll sleep on the floor,” Barnaby replied.

Hannah crossed her arms, nodding with a look like she was waing to be entertained. “Alright, go ahead, let’s see you do it.” The lab had a little changing room with a shower, good for clearing up after experiments, but there wasn’t a bed anywhere. She folded her arms, ready to see what kind of move he’d try next

To her surprise, Barnaby actually popped open his suitcase, pulled out a bunch of handmade clothes, and started spreading them out on the floor one by one.

‘Is he for real?’ Hannah just stared, completely speechless.
