Chapter 287 We Broke Up?

skipping a beat.

David had searched high and low for the world’s top doctors to Help his paralyzed eldest son, but the only ones left were the two at the Nameless Healer’s clinic.

Even though the Lynch family was the most powerful in Kinswood, when it came to Ms. Carter’s clinic, they were just like any other patient, waiting in line, getting a number, and only being seen if you were lucky enough to get a slot. No special treatment, no exceptions.

David never expected Spencer to actually bring the Nameless Healer here. This was hands down the best surprise of the night for him.

But sitting next to David, his wife Penelope’s face was as dark as ink, she looked absolutely furious.

That bright green hair was practically mocking her, as if laughing at how she’d been played all those years ago.

‘If my son hadn’t ended up a vegetable after that accident, there’s no way David would have ever brought that illegitimate kid back into the Lynch family,’ Penelope thought bitterly.

“Did you seriously dye your hair green just to show up at Dad’s birthday party? That’s way out of line!” Fiona Lynch snapped, jumping in before Penelope could say a word.

Fiona was Penelope’s youngest daughter, and thanks to her man’s influence, she couldn’t stand Spencer, her illegitimate half-brother.

“Fiona, that’s enough!” David said, getting up and striding over. His face lit up with a huge grin as he reached out to Hannah. “Welcome, the Nameless Healer. It’s an honor to have you here.”

Hannah nodded. “Nice to meet you, Mr. Lynch. Sorry, can’t shake hands right now, got my hands full, literally.”

David didn’t mind at all. He ushered her toward the main table. “No problem at all, come on, have a seat.”

Fiona’s face twisted with a mix of hurt and anger. She couldn’t believe Spencer had actually managed to bring the Nameless Healer, someone she’d wanted to invite herself, but could never get to come.

She turned and clung to Penelope’s arm, whining, “Mom, Dad yelled at me…”

Penelope forced a stiff smile at Hannah and greeted her, but the moment she turned to David, her face went dark.

“Why are you always siding with him? Did Fiona say anything wrong? Just look at that stupid green hair! Is he trying to make sure everyone knows he’s the Lynch family’s illegitimate son, so everyone can laugh at us?”

David clearly hated the green hair too. He leaned in and growled “Go fix that hair right now!”

“No way! My girlfriend picked this style out for me herself!” Spencer shot back, instinctively reaching for Hannah Carter. But the itch on his hand made him stop short, he just did a fake hug in the air instead. “Let me introduce you. This is my girlfriend, Han-”

Before Spencer could finish, Hannah was suddenly yanked out of his reach and pulled straight into someone else’s arms.

Hannah was caught off guard, stumbling right into a strong chest. The familiar hint of tobacco hit her nose, and when she looked up, she found herself staring at Barnaby, flawless from every angle, his looks almost unreal. Hannah felt her heart skip a beat.

Barnaby shot Spencer a cold glare. “Spencer, you really think you can snatch my woman? You must be tired of living,” he said, his voice icy and daring Spencer to challenge him.

“Barnaby, you two are done. Quit hanging onto her. She’s with me now!” Spencer snapped, not backing down an inch. Seeing Barnaby pull Hannah into his arms, Spencer forgot all about the itching powder and grabbed her hand, trying to yank her back.

Barnaby just held Hannah tighter, his eyes flashing coldly. “Who said we broke up?”

“Didn’t Hannah admit it herself?” Spencer shot back with a snee

Barnaby’s gaze grew even frostier. “Do I need to clear our couples games with you now?”

Spencer choked, shooting Hannal a look, hoping she’d say something to back him up.

“Spencer, let go!” David barked, his voice cold as more and more guests started staring.

Pretty much everyone knew Barnaby and Hannah were the real couple, and now Spencer was crashing the scene with that eye-popping green hair, trying to steal the spotlight. He was straight-up airing the Lynch family’s dirty laundry for everyone

to see.

But Spencer wasn’t afraid of stirring up trouble. He just clung to Hannah’s hand even tighter, refusing to let go and making

a scene.

Hannah was so done with this, being yanked back and forth by these two in front of everyone was just ridiculous. She shoved Barnaby. “Let go of me!”
