The Real Heiress Is Coming Back (Hannah Carter) novel Chapter 294

Chapter 294 Framed

Seeing how nice Hannah was, and that her mom had just scored free treatment for life at the clinic, Renee knew they’d hit the jackpot. There was no way she was going to make a fuss. Alter thanking Hannah, the two of them headed home.

On the way home, Renee finally saw the online drama about the video from earlier. When she saw half the comments blaming Hannah, she immediately reposted the original video and posted a clarification:

[The woman in the video who went into anaphylactic shock is my mom. She’s allergic to seahorses. Hannah actually prescribed two different formulas, with the second one replacing the seahorses. But the nurse mixed up the prescriptions and accidentally used the first one. Luckily, the Nameless Healer stepped in just in time. My mom is completely fine now, and the Nameless Healer even gave her free treatment for life. She can go to the clinic whenever she’s not feeling well. Honestly, that’s amazing. Thank you, Nameless Healer!]

As soon as the person involved spoke out, the internet instantly changed sides.

[Ugh, so envious! I want that kind of special privilege too!]

[Sitting under my lemon tree, but I do not feel even a bit salty.]

[Pretty sure I just figured out the cheat code to get perks from the Nameless Healer!]

[Turning disaster into blessing. Not jealous at all (yeah right).]

[This is all just for show, but it still doesn’t change the fact she made a mistake!]

[Chill, you’re just a hater. The Nameless Healer’s human, too. Everyone messes up sometimes. The point is, she fixed it before anything serious happened. Not like some people who fake their credentials and keep pushing sketchy medicines even when they know the risks.]

[Yeah, exactly!]

[If anyone’s going to try scamming the Nameless Healer at her clinic, take me with you!]

On her way back, Chloe came across the video and comments chline, and it suddenly hit her, she’d grabbed the wrong prescription yesterday.

But watching Hannah handle everything so calmly in the video, chloe couldn’t help a bit of wishful thinking: ‘Maybe Hannah won’t hold it against me?’

Mixing up ingredients as a medicinal chef was a serious screw-up. If you were lucky, the patient just got a stomachache or puked. If you weren’t, someone could die. If something that bad happened, she’d never live it down.

The Reese family was just getting started on the DNA test, and everything was at a make-or-break moment. If people found out she was the one who messed up, it’d ruin everything for her. They only wanted her for her medicinal cooking skills, so there’s no way she could own up to it.

She was wondering how she’d face Hannah at the clinic tomorrow when her phone suddenly rang, making her jump. It was

Joe.

Seeing it wasn’t Hannah, Chloe let out a sigh of relief and picked up. “Hey, Joe…”

“Chloe, where are you right now? Get to the clinic, now,” Joe said his voice serious.

Chloe suddenly had a bad feeling. “I’m on the bus heading back

“Hurry up. Everyone’s waiting for you at the clinic,” Joe urged.

‘I can’t believe Hannah isn’t letting me wait until tomorrow, she wants to settle this tonight.’ Chloe felt uneasy. “Okay,” she replied.

Half an hour later, Chloe finally made it to the clinic, her nerves stretched tight the whole way.

As she got to the entrance, she spotted a notice for a medicinal chef job. Her heart skipped a beat. ‘Is Hannah really about to kick me out?’

Still on edge, she stepped inside. Joe was waiting for her in the lobby.

When she finally showed up, Joe frowned. “Why are you so slow? Come on.”

Chloe wanted to say something, but Joe was already walking of en she just shut her mouth and trailed after him to the north wing.

Successfully unlocked!

Hannah was sitting at her desk, playing a game on her phone ne tave sat a herbal pot, a bowl of herbal dregs, and a shattered bowl with only half remaining. Her expression was icy and impossible to read

Carolyn and Elaine stood on either side. Noticing Evelyn was atent, Chloe instantly realized Hannah was clearly here to make her pay.

If Evelyn had been here, she would’ve probably put in a good word for her, at least.

Chloe pushed down her anxiety, put on an innocent smile, and acted like nothing was wrong. “Hannah, is this some kind of meeting?”

Hannah shot her a cool glance, then went right back to her game. “What’s up with Ms. Willow’s prescription?”

“I just followed the prescription Carolyn gave me and handed it over to Elaine to prepare at noon. Is there something wrong?” Chloe replied, feigning ignorance.

“Ms. Willow almost went into anaphylactic shock because she’s allergic to seahorses,” Carolyn said.

“What?!” Chloe gasped, feigning shock. “How could that happen?”

Hannah gave her a cool glance. “How many prescriptions for Willow did you have?”

Chloe swallowed, sounding confident. “I only saw one prescription. Carolyn didn’t mention anything else. Is she alright? If I’

d known she was allergic to seahorses, I would never have put them in!”

She remembered there were no cameras here, so she was betting on it. She was pretty sure Hannah would trust her over Cindy, after all, they’d known each other for over ten years. She was sure her odds were better than Cindy’s.

Cindy stared at Chloe in disbelief, her eyes wide. She just couldnt wrap her head around it. Chloe, who was always so sweet and gentle, was now blatantly lying and trying to throw her under the bus.

“Chloe, how can you lie like that? I gave you the prescription!” Carolyn protested, hurrying over to the doorway. “It was right here! You even said you needed to use the bathroom at the time.”

“The bathroom inside was perfectly fine. Why would I go outside to use the restroom?” Chloe replied, looking all innocent. Then she started coaxing Carolyn, sounding all earnest and gentle.

“I’ve been learning medicinal cooking from Evelyn for seven or eight years, and I’ve never messed up once. Hannah and Joe can vouch for me. Maybe you just got overwhelmed and forgot? Or are you just afraid to admit it because you think Hannah will be mad at you?”

“Don’t stress. If you just admit it, Hannah’s not the type to hold a grudge. The patient’s fine now anyway, so just be more

careful next time.”

Hannah’s fingers froze mid-game when she caught the last part of Chloe’s speech.

Joe didn’t really know much about medicinal cooking, but since Evelyn was always praising Hannah and Chloe for their smarts, he figured Chloe’s explanation made sense. Besides, Chloe had promised him she’d stay loyal to Hannah, so he nodded in agreement.

Carolyn shook her head frantically, her voice trembling. “No, Hannah! I swear I gave her the prescription! As soon as Evelyn changed it, I handed it over right away!”

She loved working here. The vibe was awesome, the benefits were great, and she learned so much every day. She really didn’t want to leave.

If she got blamed for this, losing her job would be the least of her problems. The real nightmare would be never finding work again.

Who would ever hire someone who got fired by the Nameless Healer?

“Yes, I did see Carolyn bring the prescription over,” Elaine stepped forward and testified.

Chloe protested, “But why didn’t I ever see a second prescription?”

“How do you know the patient is fine?” Hannah cut in, her voice cy.

Hannah cut in, shutting down Chloe’s attempt to keep arguing.

Chloe froze, suddenly realizing she’d just let something slip and totally contradicted herself. Her eyes flickered nervously as she tried to cover up. “I just thought she must be okay since she’s not here.”

“So just because she’s not here, you assume she’s fine?” Hannah shot her a frosty look.

Chloe’s heart was pounding under Hannah’s icy stare. If she kept arguing, she knew she’d slip up and get exposed.

Her lips quivered, eyes reddening as she put on her most pitiful face, looking like she’d just been wronged.

“Hannah, you really don’t trust me? We’ve been friends for over ten years. I’ve always treated you like my own sister! But you’

d rather believe an outsider than me? Fine! I’ll take the fall for he okay? Happy now?”

She finished, covered her mouth, and ran out sobbing.
