The Real Heiress Is Coming Back (Hannah Carter) novel Chapter 305

Chapter 305 Cut Ties

Chapter 305 Cut Ties

Chloe’s really gone from zero to hero. I doubt she’ll ever set foot back here,” one girl whispered

“I checked out her Tik Tok account. Looks like the Reese family is setting up a medicinal restaurant just for her, as an affiliated herbal restaurant under Grace Hospital. It’s already in the works.

“She’s running the show now. Why would she come back to work for someone else?” the other girl replied.

“No wonder Chloe was so warm when Mrs. Reese visited before..” the first girl added.

Joe caught their whispers, and his expression turned grim.

“What, even the ‘Reese kid’ is stunned?” Christopher teased, catching Joe’s reaction.

Joe shook off his hand, snapping, “Don’t call me that! I don’t have a damn thing to do with the Reese family!”

Seeing Joe get pissed, Christopher turned to Hannah with a wry look. “Oh, so you already knew they weren’t real siblings? Is this whole fake heiress drama the latest craze among the rich these days?”

Hannah was left speechless.

She’d only been hyping up the Reese family in front of Darren back then, never thinking they’d actually play along and her offhand comment would end up coming true.

Chloe really went all out. She didn’t just change jobs, she switched families entirely.

Hannah still wasn’t sure if Chloe and Joe were actually blood relatives, but judging by Joe’s expression, this whole thing had caught him completely off guard.

“Joe, did you and Chloe ever get a DNA test?” Hannah asked, her tone blunt.

“No,” Joe replied, shaking his head.

Back in the village, stuff like DNA tests never even crossed his mind.

He had no doubt Chloe was his real sister. He’d watched his dad trek out to find the midwife, and saw Chloe delivered right there at home.

No way Chloe’s got Reese blood in her.

Suddenly, Joe shoved his chair back, grabbed his car keys, and Headed out.

Christopher jumped in surprise. “Hey, where are you going?”

“I’m going to the Reese place to bring Chloe back!” Joe said through gritted teeth.

“Joe, don’t be rash!” Hannah called out, getting up to stop him, but Christopher was faster. He rushed over and grabbed him.

“Let go of me!” Joe struggled.

Christopher held on tight. “I only take orders from Hannah.”

“Do you really think you’ll get to see her just by rushing over there?” Hannah said coldly, stepping closer.

Her words struck a nerve, and Joe stopped fighting.

After he got out of the hospital, he’d tried to find Chloe at the Reese residence, but she was nowhere to be found.

Chloe had changed all her contact info, and even blocked his DMs on TikTok. He was totally out of options.

He never thought he’d see her again, only to find out about her from the news.

‘Is Chloe out of her mind?’ Joe thought, his anger boiling over,

Running off to the Reese family and playing the heiress wasn’t just betraying Hannah. It was a full-on declaration of war.

“Then what am I supposed to do?” Joe muttered, sounding hopeless.

“Just take it easy and see what she’s up to,” Hannah said, trying to calm him down.

Even though Hannah didn’t really care, Joe just couldn’t shake off. He was dead set on seeing Chloe, no matter what. After work, he camped out by the Reese family’s villa for days, and finally, his patience paid off. He spotted Chloe at last.

Chloe stepped out of a Porsche, rocking a Chanel suit and an Ly bag. She was the picture of a glamorous rich girl.

The Reese family had hooked her up with her own car and drive so she’d never have to cram into public transport again. Now she finally got why Susie went all out with Successfully unlocked! ith the Thole family. Seriously, who could say

no to living the high life?

“Chloe, hope I’m not crashing your evening, coming by this late called out a girl in a pink frilly dress as she stepped out from the other side of the car.

She was Kelly Morris, heiress of the Morris family, one of Kinswood’s top ten elite families.

“It’s totally fine! My parents are super easygoing, they won’t mind at all. Once my medicinal restaurant is up and running, you can just swing by and I’ll make you some special herbal dishes,” Chloe replied with a bright smile.

She knew she was just a tool for the Reese family, not their real daughter. The secret would eventually get out. There was no way to keep it hidden forever.

So after the Reese family went public with her identity, Chloe used her new status and her skills in beauty-enhancing herbal dishes to make her way into Kinswood’s circle of socialites. She was determined to network with the city’s elite and cement her place at the top.

“Guess I’m crashing at your place tonight,” Kelly said playfully, flashing a smile. The Morris family heiress from Kinswood

knew how to make an entrance.

Chloe was just linking arms with her, heading inside, when suddenly someone shouted from behind, “Chloe!” Joe’s voice rang out, urgent and raw.

Chloe spun around to see Joe bursting into the yard, but before he could get any closer, the two guards at the gate blocked his way.

Annoyance flashed across Chloe’s face. ‘Seriously? How did he even track me down here?’ she thought, both irritated and surprised.

Seeing Joe about to start a fight with the guards, and with Kelly still watching, Chloe quickly stepped in. “Guys, he’s with me. He’s a friend.”

“Second Miss, this guy’s been lurking around the gate for days,” one of the guards warned.

“It’s fine, I’ll go talk to him,” Chloe said, telling the guards to take Kelly inside first. Then she led Joe away from the house, finding a secluded corner for their conversation.

“Didn’t I tell you not to come looking for me anymore?” Chloe snapped, clearly annoyed.

She’d finally clawed her way up to where she was now. If things kept going her way, it wouldn’t be long before she had a solid foothold in Kinswood, enough to go toe-to-toe with Hannah, and even have the clout to fight her for Barnaby.

“Are you freaking crazy?” Joe snarled, grabbing Chloe by the wrist. “Come with me, right now. We’re getting a DNA test, and you’re gonna set the record straight for everyone.”

At the mention of a DNA test, Chloe’s stomach dropped. She clawed at his hand, desperate to break free. “I’m not going! Let me go!”

Joe wouldn’t loosen his grip, so in a panic, Chloe bit down hard on his hand.

Even when she made him bleed, Joe still wouldn’t let go, dragging her away by sheer force.

Chloe was on the verge of tears, her voice cracking as she yelled, “Joe, let me go! I’m grown up now. I know what I’m doing!”

Joe yanked his hand away, growling, “What the hell do you think you’re doing?”

“I want to carve out my place in Kinswood, launch my own medicinal restaurant, and earn fame, status, and power. Hannah can’t give me any of that right now, but the Reese family can!” Chloe said, her voice firm and resolute.

“That’s why I’m choosing the Reese family. I’m pursuing a better future for myself. Is that really so wrong?” she said, her gaze unwavering, refusing to back down.

Joe was stunned into silence, staring at Chloe. It was like he didn’t even know her anymore.

‘When did that innocent kid I grew up with become so ambitious, willing to cross any line just to chase her goals?’ Joe thought, disbelief flooding his mind.

Chloe sniffled, her voice steely and determined. “Joe, I really do thank you for everything you’ve done for me all these years. But if you truly care about me, then let me live my own life. Please, don’t come after me anymore. Let’s end this for good. Let me go after what I want.”

With that, she wiped away her tears, turned without a second glance, and walked straight toward the Reese place.

Joe just stood there, shell-shocked by her words, staring at Chloe’s cold back as she walked away. He couldn’t move, couldn’t even process what had just happened.

After a whole day of muggy weather, the sky finally opened up, and rain poured down, soaking him through and leaving him chilled to the core.

“Alright, let’s go. She’s made up her mind, no way you can force her back now,” Christopher said, stepping up with a black umbrella to shield him from the rain.

Joe snapped out of it, glanced at Christopher, and grumbled, “Just leave me alone.”

“Tch, like I care about you!” Christopher scoffed, rolling his eyes “If Hannah hadn’t begged me to come get you, I wouldn’t even bother. Let’s go. She wants me to bring you back.”
