Chapter 322 Falling Into The Water

Chapter 322 Falling Into The Water

“Oh no! Kyson, please let Allen go!” Martha’s voice called out from the back garden.

Right after that, there were two loud splashes as something-or someone-fell into the water.

Martha screamed, “Help! Allen and Kyson have fallen into the water! Someone, help!”

“Allen!” Vera called out anxiously as she rushed toward the back garden.

Hannah hurried after her.

The back garden was right next to the artificial lake. Martha was anxiously calling out by the water’s edge. When she saw Vera and Hannah approaching, she rushed over and cried, “Lady Allen fell into the lake!”

In the lake, Kyson and Allen were locked in a desperate struggle flailing and fighting to stay afloat. Every time Allen managed to get his head above water, Kyson would drag him right back under.

Usually, there would be security guards patrolling the Thole estate, and in a situation like this, they should’ve been here within three minutes. But today, for some reason, there was no sign of them anywhere.

Vera watched from the shore, anxious and helpless. “Where are the security guards? Why aren’t they here yet?”

As she spoke, she was practically ready to jump in and save the person herself.

Hannah held Vera back, but seeing Allen’s struggles weaken and him slowly sinking with no help in sight, she tossed her bag aside and dove into the lake.

“Ms. Carter!” Martha called out anxiously, but when she saw Hannah was a strong swimmer, she breathed a sigh of relief. Hannah swam over quickly. Kyson was still thrashing around, but Allen was already choking and sinking fast. She took a deep breath, dove under, and pulled him up to the surface.

‘Allen can’t die!’ Hannah thought desperately.

The water fought against her, and Hannah had to use every bit of strength she had to drag a man much bigger than herself up to the surface.

Martha and Vera were ready to pull Allen out as soon as Hannah got him close enough. Just as Hannah was about to hand him over, she suddenly felt a strong tug from behind.

She turned around and saw Kyson clinging to Allen’s leg, trying to drag him back. He was mumbling, “H-help me…”

To the people on the shore, it looked like Kyson was just trying to save himself, but Hannah didn’t hesitate-she kicked him hard.

Kyson yelped in pain, let go, and sank beneath the surface.

Just then, Eleanor rushed over with the security team, catching sight of the chaos at the lake.

Eleanor’s face turned grim as she barked, “Quick, save them!”

Two security guards immediately jumped into the water.

Hannah got Allen close enough for the people on shore to grab him, and together they struggled to haul him out of the water. As soon as he was on land, they started desperately trying to revive him.

Just as Hannah was about to get out of the water, something suddenly grabbed her ankle and yanked her back in.

It happened so fast that Hannah choked on some water, but she managed to hold her breath just in time, barely avoiding

disaster.

Underwater, she saw it was Kyson grabbing her ankle.

Hannah held her breath, twisting with the agility of a mermaid, and cut through the water straight for Kyson.

Kyson saw her coming, spun around in a panic, splashing wildly as he tried to escape.

But Hannah was relentless-she closed the distance in a heartbeat, grabbed hold of him, and hauled him down into the depths.

‘Is he seriously pretending he can’t swim?

‘Is he just trying to mess with me?

“Alright, two can play this game. Let’s see who Successfully unlocked! ‘s flashing with determination.

Kyson caught on to what Hannah was trying to uu anu cuncut aucie tried to wrench her grip free, but she held on tight, refusing to let go.

Kyson took a deep breath-well, as deep as he could underwater-and tried to steady himself. ‘Don’t freak out, don’t freak out, he told himself.

Four minutes underwater? That was his personal best back in svim class. Most folks would be gasping after two. ‘No way Hannah can outlast me down here, he thought, confidence surging.

So he made a show of swimming toward the deepest part of the lake, dragging Hannah along for the ride. If she can’t hold her breath and something goes wrong, that’s her problem, not mine, Kyson thought, coldly

But they hadn’t even reached the center yet when, as the seconds ticked by, Kyson started to feel his lungs burning, getting close to his breaking point. To his growing alarm, Hannah still showed no sign of letting go.

She kept him pinned underwater with an iron grip, like she was hell-bent on taking him down with her.

Kyson started to panic, his mind racing as fear took over.

As soon as the panic hit, he lost control-choking on mouthfuls of water, coughing and sputtering, unable to catch his

breath.

He thrashed wildly, the surface erupting with frantic splashing and gurgling noises as he fought to stay afloat.

On the shore, Eleanor whipped out her phone and started recording the moment Hannah fought back against Kyson. Seeing Kyson struggling, she didn’t miss a beat, shouting at the security guards in the water, “Kyson’s being dragged to the bottom! Hurry up and save him!”

The two security guards in the water kept after them, following closely. Hannah noticed Kyson was barely putting up a fight anymore. She felt for his pulse real quick, then pushed him over to the guards and made a beeline for the shore herself.

“Do you have any idea how dangerous that was? Were you actually trying to drown Kyson?”

As soon as Hannah made it onto the shore, Eleanor went off on her, not holding back one bit.

Hannah ignored Eleanor completely, swiped the water off her face, and hurried over to check on Allen.

Thankfully, the CPR worked just in time. Allen coughed up the water from his lungs and blinked awake, his eyes unfocused and confused.

Hannah checked his pulse-he was just shaken, nothing serious. She finally breathed easy.

Vera was kneeling beside him, her eyes red from worry. When she saw Allen wake up, she started chanting, “Thank Buddha, thank Buddha.”

Meanwhile, Kyson was dragged out of the lake, and they were performing CPR on him. Eleanor was putting on a show, shouting at the top of her lungs, “Kyson, you better be okay!”

“How did this even happen? How did they end up in the water?” Mabel blurted out, her voice tight with concern.

She’d just heard what happened and came rushing in with two family doctors and a bunch of servants. Even Iris, who was heavily pregnant, was tagging along behind, moving as fast as she could.

As soon as Iris heard Kyson was in trouble, her face went pale with worry.

‘Mabel, finally! If you’d shown up any later, Kyson could’ve been drowned by that girl! Just look what she did to Kyson!” Eleanor cut in first, thrusting her phone in Mabel’s face to show the video she’d just recorded.

Mabel didn’t even bother with the video. She immediately had the family doctors check on both of the people who’d nearly drowned, with Kyson still receiving CPR.

“That’s not true at all, Eleanor. Hannah was the one who jumped in to save Allen, Vera said firmly, standing up for Hannah. “Sure, she was saving someone, but did she really have to shove Kyson down to do it?” Eleanor was stirring up trouble on purpose. “Everyone saw it-she kicked Kyson away in the water, then pulled him under like she was trying to drown him! I’ ve even got video proof! She was out to kill him!”

Right then, Kyson finally woke up.

He sat up, and as soon as he caught Hannah’s cold, emotionless look, the memory of almost suffocating to death came rushing back. He shuddered, then lunged for Iris, clinging to her for comfort.

Iris… I really thought I’d never see any of you again, Kyson whimpered.

His face was white as a sheet, clearly scared out of his mind. The moment he broke down in tears, he looked even more fragile-it was enough to make anyone feel sorry for him.

Iris’s motherly instincts went into overdrive-she just couldn’t stand seeing Kyson cry. Her heart ached as she gently wiped his tears away with a handkerchief. “Kyson, don’t cry, don’t crym here”

Kyson kept bawling, “She was terrifying! She kicked me in the water and dragged me under-I was so scared, I really thought I was going to die, boohoo~”

Hannah wrapped herself in the thick towel the servant handed her, drying her soaked hair as she watched Kyson and Eleanor playing off each other, both rushing to make her the scapegoat. Meanwhile, Allen was huddled on the ground, shaking and looking terrified-the contrast couldn’t be clearer.

Hannah gave a cold chuckle. “Why don’t you tell everyone how you and Allen ended up in the lake together?”
