Chapter 325 Did They Bully You?
Upon hearing this, Hannah’s brows knitted. “Suicide?”
“What happened? Why would Kyson kill himself?” Vera asked.
“Mr. Kyson couldn’t face his mistake and tried to drown himself in the lake out of quilt! We’ve already called an ambulance, and Mrs. Thole sent me to ask if you could come over and see if you can help, the servant said.
He tried to kill himself by jumping into the lake?
‘But doesn’t Kyson know how to swim?’ she wondered.
“Did he admit to switching the medicine?” Hannah asked.
The servant shook his head. “Not yet. Mrs. Thole called everyone over to the garden pavilion for a talk, and on the way. I Kyson slipped away under the pretense of going to the restroom and threw himself into the lake.
‘Well, isn’t that curious, Hannah mused.
“Let’s go. Which hospital?” Hannah said, already heading out.
The servant quickly led the way. “Concord Hospital.”
Hannah got into the car the servant had arranged and went straight to Concord Hospital.
Mabel, Iris, Eleanor, Martha, and a few other Thole family servants were huddled anxiously outside the ER
“Hannah, please, you have to save Kyson. He’s still so young-he can’t die, Iris pleaded as soon as she saw Hannah arrive
Even though Kyson might have been the one who switched her medicine, Hannah wasn’t heartless-she couldn’t just let someone die right in front of her.
Hannah asked the doctor about Kyson’s condition and the surgery. Since the operation had just begun and everyone at Concord Hospital knew her, they quickly handed her a surgical gown.
Once she’d changed, Hannah slipped into the operating room.
One hour later, the operating room doors swung open.
“Doctor, how’s Kyson?” Iris asked, her hand protectively resting on her belly as she stepped forward.
The male doctor came out first, pulling off his mask with a heavy expression. “I’m sorry. We did everything we could.”
Iris was so shocked she nearly collapsed, but Martha quickly caught her. “Iris, are you alright? Please, you have to stay calm -for the baby.”
“Iris!” Mabel rushed over to steady her.
“Mom, Kyson’s gone. He’s gone. He was still so young-how could this happen?” Iris choked out
Hannah stepped out of the operating room just in time to catch sight of Mabel holding Iris, who was crying her eyes out trying to comfort her. Eleanor stood off to the side, a faint, almost imperceptible smile tugging at her lips.
When Eleanor heard that Kyson was dead, she felt a wave of relief wash over her. Finally, I’m in the clear. No one will suspect me now, she thought to herself.
Suddenly, Eleanor felt someone watching her. She looked up and locked eyes with Hannah.
Hannah’s eyes were razor-sharp, as if she could see right through Eleanor.
Eleanor’s heart skipped a beat. Her eyes flickered nervously, then she put on an act and started blaming Hannah
“Aren’t you supposed to be the legendary healer who can cure anything, even raise the dead? So why couldn’t you save Kyson? You can bring people out of comas, but you just couldn’t save him? Was this on purpose? Did you just stand by and let him die?”
The male doctor was a die-hard fan of Hannah. Hearing Eleanor badmouth his idol, he couldn’t help but jump in to defend Hannah before she could even respond
“It’s not the Nameless Healer’s fault! He was already beyond saving when you brought him in the doctor retorted
“Then why did you keep trying for so long if you couldn’t save him? Eleanor demanded her voice sharp

“Did you honestly want Kyson to survive?” Hannah stepped right up to Eleanor, her gaze unflinching
Eleanor snapped back, her tone bristling with anger, “What kind of question is that? Kyson may only be adopted, but I’ve always treated him like my own, just like ins. Of course I wanted him to live!

Hannah let out a low, mocking chuckle, making Eleanor’s heart skip a beat. ‘Why do I get the feeling this brat knows something?
‘She really can’t be allowed to stick around…’ Eleanor thought, her mind racing.
While Eleanor was still caught up in her suspicions, Hannah suddenly reached out, grabbed her silk scarf, and yanked it off in one swift motion.
Eleanor was completely caught off guard. “What are you doing? Why are you pulling my scarf?”
She snatched the scarf back and quickly threw it around her neck again, but Hannah had already seen it.
There was a surgical scar across her throat, right over her vocal cords.
‘Just as I thought, Eleanor’s voice really has been surgically altered, Hannah realized, her doubts finally settled.
Just then, the operating room doors swung open again, and a nurse wheeled out a bed with someone lying under a white sheet, completely covered from head to toe.
“Kyson…” Iris cried out, collapsing against the bed, her sobs wracking her body.
When she suspected Kyson had switched her medicine, she’d been truly furious. But now that he was gone, her sadness was just as genuine.
After all, she had always treated him like her own son.
“Why was Kyson so foolish? Why couldn’t he just talk things out instead of taking his own life? If he’d just owned up to his mistake, he wouldn’t have died so young,” Eleanor started wailing dramatically, joining the mourning crowd.
Hannah stood aside, her eyes cold as she watched the scene unfold. Honestly, she didn’t feel a shred of sympathy for the Thole family.
Suddenly, she heard footsteps behind her-heavy, deliberate, and carrying an aura that seemed to shift the whole atmosphere.
Hannah turned and found Barnaby standing right there, his presence amplified by a custom-fitted black suit that made him look even more imposing.
She was genuinely surprised, taking off her mask as she asked, What are you doing here?”
Barnaby looked over at the sobbing crowd with zero emotion, didn’t bat an eye-like they were nothing but strangers to him.
He turned to Hannah, his voice still cool. “Heard Vera was looking for you. Just came to see if anyone was bothering you.”
Hannah arched a brow. “You really think I’m that easy to bully?”
“Then what’s this?”
He reached out, tilted her chin up, and his thumb brushed lightly over a small scab-about an inch long-on her left cheek.
It was a scratch she’d picked up earlier, when Kyson had dragged her back toward the lake and she’d accidentally gotten scraped by a branch lying on the shore. She hadn’t even felt it at the time.
Later, once her clothes and hair had dried, she hadn’t really bothered to check herself in the mirror.
But now, with Barnaby’s touch, she finally noticed the pain.
“Who did this to you?” Barnaby asked, his voice icy.
His face was almost criminally handsome, but right now, his expression was just as cold as his tone. It was like if Hannah dropped a name, he’d immediately say, “Ronin, take care of it!”
“He’s lying right there,” Hannah replied, jerking her chin toward the bed.
Barnaby was about to walk over, but Hannah quickly grabbed his arm. “What are you doing?”
Barnaby replied coldly, “I’m going to give his corpse a good thrashing.”
Hannah was speechless.
‘You can’t be serious! Isn’t that a bit much?’ Hannah thought.
“Iris!”
“Miss Iris!”
Suddenly, in the middle of all the crying, Mabel and Martha’s voices rang out in panic. Iris was hit so hard by grief that she couldn’t catch her breath-her emotions spiraled out of control, and she just collapsed on the spot.
Mabel and Martha rushed to hold her up, frantically shouting for a doctor
All hell broke loose as everyone rushed Iris off to a hospital room, while the nurses wheeled Kyson’s body away to the
morgue.
Hannah stayed in the hospital room and gave Iris a few acupuncture sessions to help her relax and make sure the baby

was safe. She only left after Iris finally came around.
Only Barnaby, Mabel, and Martha were left waiting outside the hospital room; everyone else had already gone.
“How’s Iris doing? Can I go in and see her?” Mabel asked, her voice full of worry.
“You can, but make sure she really rests. If she gets upset again and risks the baby, she might as well not have it,” Hannah replied bluntly.
Mabel’s face grew even more serious. “Okay.”
Hannah asked the nurse for a pen and paper, quickly wrote out a herbal meal plan, and handed it to Martha. “Prepare her meals using these ingredients.”
Martha nodded. “Of course.”
Barnaby finished his call, turned around, and saw Hannah had wrapped things up. He walked over, slipped his arm around her waist, and said, “Forget about them. Let’s get out of here.”
“Wait a sec, I need to go down to the basement level,” Hannah said, heading straight for the stairwell.
