The Real Heiress Is Coming Back (Hannah Carter) novel Chapter 341

Chapter 341 Wait He’s Not Jealous?

Chapter 341 Wait He’s Not Jealous?

Just as Aurelia finished speaking, the doorbell rang.

Joe went to open the door. When he saw who it was, he greeted respectfully, “Sir.”

Speak of the devil and he will appear.

Hannah felt a headache coming on as soon as she saw Barnaby She was worried he’d get all possessive again and start chasing people away.

She hurried over. “What brings you here? Didn’t you say you wouldn’t be off work so soon?”

But to everyone else, it looked just like a girl spotting her boyfriend out of the blue and rushing over all excited, like she wanted a kiss.

Joel pouted, clearly annoyed. ‘Even Fairy Sis doesn’t get this hyped up when she sees cash,’ he thought.

“I wanted to surprise you,” Barnaby said softly, but his eyes swept coldly over the three men on the living room couch.

Hannah was speechless.

‘Uh oh, I know that look-he’s about to get jealous again,’ she thought.

She quickly grabbed Barnaby’s arm, hoping to nudge him out and warn him not to cause trouble and mess up Evelyn’s rare happy mood.

But Barnaby just slipped his hand into hers and politely greeted the ladies behind her, “Grandma, Aurelia.”

Evelyn replied, “Oh, you’re here.”

“Great timing, dinner’s about to start. Go wash up and come eat with us. Christopher and the others are eating here too, and Ronin, you should join us!” Aurelia called out warmly.

Barnaby nodded. “Sure.”

Hannah couldn’t help but be surprised. ‘Wait, he’s not jealous?’ she thought.

“I’ve got something to handle later, so I’ll skip dinner,” Ronin said waving his hand.

Barnaby turned, took the gift bag from Ronin, let him leave, then handed the bag to Evelyn.

“Grandma, Hannah mentioned you haven’t been sleeping well lately. I just snagged a censer and some calming incense at

an auction. It’s supposed to help with sleep-give it a shot, Barnaby said.

“Even you’re being so polite?” Evelyn said, looking pleasantly surprised.

Christopher and Joel were super curious about what Barnaby had brought, so they hurried over to check it out.

When they opened it up, they were totally blown away-a rare, exquisitely polished jade censer!

The rich green color and top-tier icy jade quality screamed money.

Compared to the three fruit baskets on the table, the other guys gifts looked like they barely tried at all.

Christopher thought, ‘Shoot, I slipped up-got flexed on by him again.”‘

Joel thought, ‘Is he seriously trying to butter up Grandma?’

“Sis, this is some real treasure! You’re so lucky,” Aurelia said, unable to take her eyes off the censer.

“This is way too expensive, I can’t accept it,” Evelyn said, quickly putting the censer back in the box and handing it to Barnaby, insisting he take it back.

For Barnaby, once he gave someone a gift, there was no way he was taking it back. He just stood firm-no chance hed accept it again.

“Just keep it, he’s not short on cash. I’ll get you some more calming incense later,” Hannah said, helping Evelyn put it away

“Aurelia, I didn’t know you’d be here, so I didn’t have a gift ready Here, take this card-spend it on whatever you want Barnaby said, handing her a black card.

When Aurelia saw the black card, her eyes sparkled. She’d just been jealous of the jade censet, but now she was grinning from ear to ear ‘Who wouldn’t want a grandson-in-law this loaded?

Honestly, Hannah should just stick with him for lifel’ Aurelia thought.

“Oh, you really shouldn’t! I feel bad taking it,” Aurelia said, but while she was saying that, her hands were already slipping the card into her pocket like it was second nature.

Hannah was speechless.

“Tsk tsk, see? Barnaby’s got style. Now look at the rest of youCandy chimed in from the side.

“It’s just money, everyone’s got somel Christopher shot back, reaching for his wallet.

Chapter 341 Wait He’s Not Jealous?

Barnaby replied coolly, “Don’t bother. Even if you whip it out, it’s not gonna measure up.”

Christopher was stunned into silence.

‘Why does that sound kinda off? Man, that’s savage! Christopher thought.

“Dinner’s ready!” Felicity came out with a steaming plate of dumplings.

Joe rushed over to help out. Felicity spotted Barnaby and gave him a warm smile. “Oh, Barnaby, you made it too!”

Barnaby shamelessly called out, “Thanks for all your hard work, Mom.”

Hannah thought, nearly choking on her own spit, ‘Did he really just call her Mom?’

Felicity blinked, thinking she must’ve heard wrong. “Wait, what?

“Hey, Barnaby, that’s totally against the rules! Hannah’s not even your wife yet-how can you call her ‘Mom’ already?” Christopher jumped in, sounding scandalized.

“Exactly! You can’t just go around calling her that! Fairy Sis is st my fiancée, you know! I haven’t even called her Mom yet, so what’s your rush? Just because you won over Grandma doesn’t mean you get a free pass with her mom,” Joel added, not missing a beat.

“Seriously, what’s with you calling her that already?” Hannah shot him a playful glare, half annoyed, half amused.

Barnaby just shrugged, possessively wrapping his arm around Hannah’s shoulders. “It’s only a matter of time. Better get used to it early.”

‘Who said I’d marry you?

‘Fine, whatever. As long as he’s not throwing a jealous fit, he can do whatever, she thought.

“Exactly, it’s only a matter of time!” Aurelia chimed in, grinning from ear to ear-she was practically dying for them to get married right then and there.

Joel protested loudly, “No way! Fairy Sis is mine…”

Evelyn grinned and called everyone over. “Alright, everyone, go wash up and let’s eat before the food gets cold.”

Luckily, the house was spacious, and the dining room had plenty of room for ten at the table.

Hannah sat next to Evelyn, and Barnaby swooped in to snag the seat on her other side. Christopher and Joel, with matching sulky faces, ended up flanking Evelyn and Barnaby.

“Hey, Fairy Sis, here’s your favorite stuffed eggplant,” Joel said, grinning as he picked up a piece and dropped it into Hannah’ s bowl.

Barnaby’s sharp brows furrowed. When he saw Hannah actually eat it, his frown deepened. He picked up a piece of ribs and dropped it into her bowl.

Hannah glanced up at him. Barnaby didn’t say a word, just stared straight at the ribs in her bowl.

He might as well have had a sign on his face saying, “You ate what he gave you, so you better eat mine too.”

Hannah gave a resigned sigh and stuffed the ribs into her mout

Joel was thrilled to see Hannah eat the stuffed eggplant he’d given her. Grinning, he quickly added another piece to her bowl.

Barnaby, clearly not pleased, grabbed a piece of beef and dropped it into Hannah’s bowl, his expression darkening. “Hannah loves squid the most!” Christopher jumped up, grabbed a piece of squid, and plopped it right into her bowl. He remembered how much Hannah had scarfed down grilled squid the last time they hung out.

“This little one’s all about crayfish,” Spencer said, picking up a plece with his chopsticks and dropping it into her bowl. “Our Hannah isn’t picky-she’ll eat anything. But she shouldn’t just eat meat all the time, she needs more veggies,” Candy chimed in, adding some greens to her bowl with her chopsticks

Everyone took turns piling food into Hannah’s bowl, and Barnab would always follow up with his own pick. In no time, her bowl looked like a mini mountain.

She finally snapped, “Seriously, if you guys aren’t gonna eat, just get out!” Hannah said, exasperated.

Everyone finally got the message and stopped dumping food in her bowl, turning to their own plates instead.

Christopher grabbed a dumpling, popped it in his mouth, and found a coin inside. He burst out laughing. “Man, I’m on fire! First bite and I hit the jackpot!”

“Looks like you’re in for a lucky year, Christopher! I put ten coins in the dumplings-whoever gets one is guaranteed a year full of luck and cash,” Aurelia said with a big grin.

“First one’s mine, guess I’m destined to be lucky this year!” Christopher said, grabbing another dumpling. “Let’s see if I can score another.”
