Her chest felt tight, her body heavy,

Just hold on. It’ll pass soon.

When Draven reached the doorway, he saw Cassia crouched down in the corner, her head buried between

her knees.

She heard him approach and slowly lifted her head. Her face was white as a sheet.

Anemia.

It was the first time he’d ever seen her look so weak, so small.

A pulse of worry ran through him. His face darkened, and he crossed the space between them in two long strides.

“You don’t look too good,” he said.

He got me.

“I’m fine,” Cassia said softly, though his closeness made her uncomfortable.

Her voice was distant. Her brows were drawn tight. Draven stopped a step away, careful not to crowd her.

“Anemia isn’t something to ignore. Did you take your medicine?”

“It’s not that serious,” she said.

Cassia placed a hand on the wall and pushed herself up.

But she had been crouching too long. The moment she stood, everything spun, and she stumbled forward.

Draven caught her before she could fall, his grip steady but respectful.

He didn’t take advantage of the moment.

That alone eased something in Cassia. Her guard lowered slightly.

“Thanks,” she murmured.

“It’s alright,” he said quietly.

Draven glanced toward the stairs.

“Are there private rooms upstairs?”

“Yes,” she said faintly.

“I’ll take you there,” he said.

I’ll make you that soup another time,” she whispered, her tone light but tired.

Ten minutes later, Seven looked at his watch and frowned. “What’s taking him so long? Did he fall into the lavatory or something?”

Nicole frowned, confused. Was Cassia not feeling well?

Seven started toward the restroom to check, but his phone buzzed in his pocket.

“Hello? Mr. Grey?”

He blinked, puzzled. What could be so urgent? Did the boss run out of toilet paper?

“What? Right now? Okay, I’m coming.”

He hung up, eyebrows furrowing as he tried to make sense of it.

Medicine? For anemia?

That couldn’t be right. Draven was in perfect health. The Grey family had a team of nutritionists keeping every meal balanced. There was no way it was him.

Then it must be Cassia.

There was a pharmacy nearby, so Seven ran there and back in minutes.

When he reached the private suite upstairs, Cassia was asleep on the couch, and Draven was quietly laying a blanket over her.

So it really is Ms. Wood.

Seven slipped into the room on soft steps. “Boss, I got the medicine.”

His voice still stirred Cassia awake.

Draven shot him a quick, cool glance.

Seven lifted his hands slightly, as if to say, “My bad,” then placed the medicine and water on the table and tiptoed out, closing the door carefully behind him.

“Take this first,” Draven said, handing her the pills and the glass.

Ordinary anemia medicine wouldn’t help much. Her symptoms would come back soon unless she took the pills she made herself.

But for now, this would have to do.

“Alright…” Her words came out soft. The medicine was already making her drowsy.

“Get some sleep. I’ll get going.”

“See you,” she murmured, her eyes closing. Within seconds, her breathing slowed, and she fell asleep.

Draven lingered for a moment, then turned and left quietly, pulling the door shut behind him.

A few minutes later, Cassia’s eyes opened halfway. She glanced at the door, her thoughts hazy.

She had actually fallen asleep in front of him..
