It turned out that Danica was also a big fan of that brand.

Geneva smiled and said, “Alright, we’ll go shopping tomorrow. Cassia, you should come too. I want to get you some new clothes.”
Cassia was about to refuse. The thought of going with Danica didn’t excite her at all. But she didn’t want to let her mother down. She nodded and agreed.
The moment Danica heard that, her smile vanished. She frowned and said, “Why bring her along? She’s just a country girl from some small backwater town. What does she know about fashion? If she goes, she’ll only make Seer look bad.”
Brie stayed quiet, but deep down, she looked down on Cassia too.
That’s just how some girls are–they can’t stand anyone prettier than them.
To Brie, Cassia was an eyesore.
But since Danica was already picking a fight, Brie didn’t even have to lift a finger. She could just sit back and enjoy the show.
Geneva sighed to herself. It was tricky to help her daughters get along. She knew Danica had never liked Cassia, but maybe if they spent more time together, things would get better.
She thought taking them out more often might help them bond.
What Geneva didn’t know was that her plan would only make things worse.
Finally, the weekend arrived.
In the morning, golden sunlight streamed through the thin curtains, lighting up everything inside the luxurious bedroom.
In the gray–and–white bedroom, Cassia slowly opened her sleepy eyes and sat up in bed.
She glanced at the clock. It was past eight. Cassia got up, washed, and went downstairs. Everyone was already sitting around the breakfast table.
When Geneva saw her, she smiled warmly and waved her over.
Danica spoke with her usual sarcastic tone, “Some people really have it easy. Still in bed when the sun’s up. Back at the orphanage, I bet she was up at four or five doing chores.”
“Oh yeah? How do you know? Want to give it a try yourself?” Cassia shot back without hesitation. She knew exactly who Danica was talking about.
She wasn’t in the mood–she was never a morning person.
And Danica had just walked right into it.

“Hmph! Who would ever want to live like some country bumpkin?” Danica snapped back. She hadn’t expected Cassia to fight back. Usually, Cassia just ignored her, like nothing she said could ever touch her.
It seems quiet ones bite the hardest.
Hmph, maybe I have underestimated her.
Cassia gave a half–smile, mocking. “You talk about it so much, I thought you actually liked that.”
Before the argument could heat up, Brie pulled Danica’s arm. “Let’s just eat. I heard Seer’s new limited collection drops today. If we go late, it’ll be gone.”
Brie wasn’t trying to change the subject for no reason. She could tell Danica was outmatched. Continuing would only embarrass her more.
Danica’s expression changed immediately. “Really?” she said, suddenly anxious.
Everyone knew how big of a deal it was to own something from Seer. Buying one of their pieces was like earning instant status–something to brag about at school.
Everyone knew Seer was a luxury brand under Cosmo Group, known for its fashion and jewelry lines.
Its unique design style made it a worldwide sensation. Every year, its pieces appeared at international fashion weeks and high–end jewelry shows. The brand had countless loyal fans across the globe.
People said Seer’s chief designer was a genius–mysterious, low–key, and full of personality. Her designs had won international awards, yet hardly anyone had ever seen her in person except the company’s top
executives.
Every piece she created was unique and in high demand, but she never mass–produced anything. She understood one simple truth–rare things feel more precious.
Owning a Seer product had become a symbol of status. Even celebrities and top models took pride in wearing her designs.
Danica, who loved attention and showing off, had always dreamed of owning one.
But the prices were sky–high, and every item was limited edition. She had never managed to get her hands
on one.
“Oh right! I almost forgot something this important!” Danica exclaimed. “Let’s go! I won’t let my mood today.”

After breakfast, she lingered around the house a little longer before they finally set out for Century Mall, the biggest shopping center in Zrario.
Century Mall sat right in the heart of the city.
