Chapter 182 Turned Away Twice
Chapter 182 Turned Away Twice
“Not tonight. Saturday.”
Kaleb and Brie looked over at the table they had reserved.
“I’m sorry, sir. I meant Saturday,” the manager said.
“But I just made the reservation?”

Kaleb figured the manager had just taken a phone call, so it must have been a reservation that came in just now.
“We reserved it first.”
The hotel still refused them and offered triple compensation.
Brie felt like the restaurant was bullying them.
This wasn’t about compensation at all. They had come here and made their reservation first. That phone call clearly came after them, yet it snatched their table?
What kind of nonsense was this?
Kaleb held back his temper and turned to Brie. “Then let’s just eat here tonight. We’ll use the reservation we just made right now.”
Brie thought that would work too, though it was a shame they wouldn’t get the free–range chicken soup.
But before she could even say “okay,” they heard the manager say, “I’m sorry, but tonight’s table has also been taken.”
“Isn’t it empty right there?”
Brie pointed at the table they had reserved, confused.
They could clearly see that their reserved table was empty. There was nobody sitting there at all.
Brie noticed Kaleb clenching his fists. Afraid he might cause a scene, she quickly stepped in front of him and patted the back of his hand reassuringly before asking the manager, “What about tomorrow night then?”

The manager said, “We’re fully booked for the next month.”
Kaleb couldn’t hold back anymore and lost his temper right there.

In the end, the restaurant stall’s expressions changed as well. They said the two of them had offended one of the restaurant’s VIP guests, so they would rather let the table sit empty than give it to them.
Kaleb was so angry he could have exploded.
Everyone in Zrario knew that Atelier Zrario had powerful backers. Rumor had it they were connected to old money from Vrastin.
The Gills were considered top–tier in Zrario, but they couldn’t even begin to compare to a bustling metropolis like Vrastin.
In the end, they had no choice but to leave with their frustration bottled up
inside.
As for offending a VIP at Atelier Zrario, Kaleb racked his brain but couldn’t figure out who it could be.
He hadn’t offended any big shots lately.
He asked Brie too, and she said the same.
So they must have offended someone, but they had absolutely no idea who.
Setting aside this infuriating matter for now, at least they had called ahead earlier to make a reservation at The Lennox.
If they couldn’t eat at Atelier Zrario, there was still The Lennox.
Kaleb and Brie walked into The Lennox together.
Nicole spotted Brie and Kaleb and walked over to the front desk.
“Hi, I made a reservation earlier this evening.” Kaleb pulled out his reservation confirmation.
Nicole was just about to step in and teach these two brats a lesson on Cassia’s behalf, but one of her bodyguards, Brody Berry, held her back.
“Nicole, why go nuclear on a couple of punks? These two aren’t worth you handling personally.”

Nicole was fine with that. She needed to head over to Seer anyway, so she agreed to let her bodyguard handle it.
Nicole headed toward the back exit while Brody walked up to the front desk. He stood in front of Kaleb, rapped his knuckles on the counter, and made no effort to hide his attitude.
“Sorry, pal. We’re all full.”
Full?
Hearing that word, Kaleb got a strange sense of déjà vu.
Kaleb looked over at the table he had reserved earlier that evening. There were two empty seats with no one sitting there.
Seeing this, the feeling of déjà vu grew even stronger.
“What’s that supposed to mean? I made a reservation this evening!” Kaleb’s from his reserved table as his fists clenched involuntarily.

One place after another was pulling this crap. Did they think Kaleb was that easy to push around?
