Chapter 187 If Only They Knew
When Cassia heard “Volkswagen,” it all clicked into place.
So Brie had seen Draven last night and mistaken him for a teacher at their school.
Draven, not worthy?
Cassia let out a laugh.

Who was Draven, really? If they knew, it would scare them to death! The wealth behind Draven alone far surpassed the Woods‘!
A 20,000–dollar Volkswagen?
The car might look like a standard Volkswagen on the outside, but from what she could tell, the interior was on a completely different level from anything Vance drove. And the furniture in that penthouse at Dunstino Bay? If Vance and his family ever saw it, their eyes would pop out of their heads.
Draven was like her. He didn’t like showing off.
And then there was the “gourmet mushroom soup” she’d been getting lately. Atelier Zrario might as well be Draven’s personal kitchen.
She remembered her mother once telling her that when Aspen turned 18, Vance had pulled a lot of strings just to book half of the first–floor banquet hall for the celebration.
Cassia was already mostly full. She pushed back her chair and stood up.
Seeing Cassia about to leave, Vance stood up as well. “Cassia, I’m saying this for your own good. You and he are never going to happen! If you really want a boyfriend, I’ll find one for you!”
Cassia turned back to look at Vance, her expression ice cold.
“Oh? So you want to use me for a business marriage alliance, huh?”
One sentence exposed Vance’s ugly intentions, leaving him so embarrassed he wanted to crawl into a hole.
“Ha…” Cassia let out a mocking laugh. Her eyes curved as if smiling, but the smile never reached them.
Vance felt even more humiliated.

“Cassia, that’s not what Dad meant. Don’t misunderstand. He’s just thinking about your future. He’s afraid you’ll end up with the wrong family and get hurt.” Brie stepped forward to speak.
They all assumed Cassia knew she had no chance of getting into college, which was why she was dating now. She was just looking for some family to take care of her.
Hearing Brie speak up for him, Vance felt a bit more confident. He told himself, That’s right. I’m doing this for Cassia’s sake too.
“That sounds so nice. Since you’re so thoughtful, why don’t you go be the one in a business marriage alliance?” Cassia’s voice was laced with frost.
“I…” Brie was caught off guard and couldn’t find the words to respond.
“Can you even compare yourself to Brie? Brie has a bright future ahead of her. Do you? Besides, the Gills–Kaleb’s family–are one of the top families in Zrario, on par with ours. Their background, status, and character are all impeccable. Can that teacher even compare?” Victoria walked over to stand beside Brie.
“Ha…” Cassia let out a bored yawn, her gaze lazy and cool. “Who I date is none of your business. It’s not like any of you ever cared before.”
With that, Cassia walked out the door without looking back.
“Cassia!” Geneva called out anxiously.
Things had gone south again. Why couldn’t they just have a normal conversation?
“Honey, the child has been through so much. Being in love makes people happy. Just let her be.”
“I can’t just let this go!” Vance said sternly. “I was thinking of setting her up with Mr. Wilcox’s
son.”
“Mr. Wilcox? Which Mr. Wilcox?” Geneva asked.
Brie, Danica, and Victoria were curious too.
“Who else? The self–made entrepreneur I mentioned earlier.”
“That Mr. Wilcox?” Geneva drew in a sharp breath. “I heard his son has violent tendencies. How his first wife actually died is still a mystery.”
Vance lit a cigarette. “You women love to gossip whenever you get together. Mr. Wilcox’s daughter–in–law died from a chronic illness flaring up. This whole ‘violent tendencies‘ thing
